STAY AWAY FROM PAYSTACK
After 2 months of working with them diligently, they literally toyed with 3 weeks of my time and business under the famous 'we're conducting a review line. Afterwards they froze over $3000 of rightfully earned money and lied they'll refund my clients who were so willing to repay me.
Bottom line: Paystack are thieves.
This payment provider is such a scam, My funds have been on hold for 2 weeks now, with an alleged email from Ene stipulating that my business is under review and that I had to provide certain documents to help with their investigations process in which I provided then they requested private personal information of my customers to help with the process in which I utterly refused because that is personal information and I can not just distribute it as I do not have the right to do so then Ene stated that it is either they refund the customer or I submit the customers documents in which I instructed Ene to refund the customer, and ever since then Ene has never responded to my emails even after several follow-ups. Never do business with this payment provider they will unjustifiably withhold your funds.
My payout has been pending for 6 days now, no proper email reply, the option for online chat has been removed from my page, you kept saying you are reviewing my account for how long now, my emails are being ignored please improve your customer service and also release my payout for withdrawal this is so unprofessional from your end , constant promises without fulfillment, me while fees has been deducted from my payout but payout still pending, @paystack please see to resolving my payout 🙏.

Paystack you have held our payouts for more than a week, meanwhile fees have been deducted from transactions , you said our account is under review of which we provided all documents already like how do you that when you know this is a company. we contacted support and one Toyin told us on friday everything will be resolved and we will receive feedback , im completely not satisfied with your professionalism now.
Paystack has a lovely dashboard & quick on-boarding, I'd have loved to rate them much better but our family is frustrated because of held funds. They conducted a review and it's been a week now, we are unable to fulfill our cake orders and our credibility is diminishing by the day. Is there anyone who can help us? I'd appreciate any help
PayStack refunded a fraudulent customer and took my money. I provided a signed waybill, email confirmation, WhatsApp, and bank proof. They ignored everything. I lost R30,858. My account is disabled. Do not trust PayStack with your business.

Paystack has kept my money on hold, and I do not know the reason why. I have provided all evidence of my business legitimacy, and I even gave them my client information when requested. Despite this, they are still holding my funds.
I do not know if they understand what they are doing. Why does a review, even with all the proof provided, have to take over three weeks and still remain unresolved?
I trusted this platform as a payment partner, but now, never again.
I am a software developer based in Kenya. I signed up with Paystack to receive international payments. My business does not appear anywhere on their Acceptable Use Policy prohibited list. I had zero chargebacks, zero disputes, and zero customer complaints — ever.
Here is what happened:
Paystack closed my business account citing an AUP violation that they could not substantiate. Before doing so, they demanded access to my private WhatsApp conversations — a serious privacy violation — which I provided in good faith. They closed my account anyway.
The most alarming part: Paystack deducted $107 in processing fees on $2,800 worth of transactions that were never disbursed to me. I never received a single cent. You cannot legally charge processing fees on funds you never released to the merchant.
To make matters worse, they revoked my dashboard access at the same time they closed my account. I now have no way to verify whether $2,800 in customer payments has actually been refunded. No transaction IDs. No refund confirmations. No screenshots. Nothing. My customers are in the dark, and so am I.
This is not how a legitimate payment processor operates. Paystack is holding customer funds with zero transparency, charging fees on money they never paid out, and removing the merchant's only means of monitoring what happens next.
Paystack — refund the $107 in unjustified fees, and restore read-only dashboard access immediately so refunds can be verified. Until this is resolved, I strongly caution any Kenyan or African business against using this platform. I need urgent attention to this matter

My payout has been under review since May 30th, 2025, and payments on behalf of my customers have continued to be processed. My lawyer has written them. If there is no positive response,in seven days I will explore all legal avenues to recover my funds and pursue damages.

When the company started we did so well in one month with good social media platforms and issued our invoicing ourselves.
Clients got their products delivered in time we build capital to buy more products.
Now with the capital we have bought new products and received new orders and at a point that last 2 weeks we been using paystack.
Only one payment of R350 was made and this was a test payment made by myself as the founder. No delivery needed to be proven.
But now we are at a brink of closure as neither I can buy or pay a supplier to get new products or courier services. I have been paying out of my
own salary to get products to clients.
I have emailed them 25 times.
Spoke to Martha , Ene , Grace and the same response.
The technical team has been approached
I have called them 15 times times this week asking for feedback.
Of all the emails I have provided proof of delivery that matches the dashboard.
So I can't understand they allow payemets once with no delivery to be proven? Now no?
This is really what made me think this may be a fraudulent company.
There is a huge revenue they are keeping of Pretty Tifins which products are already delivered and proof provided but have labelled us a drop shipping company? How?Which we have verified we are not. We received intentional payments by means of a logisits company for those products also shipped to UK, USA , nZ. But still refuse to payout. Of the products in South Africa clients have recieved their orders over 2 weeks ago! As we did so well I teamed up with my logisits provider for supplier to send to the logistics company and ship worldwide without facing customs , duty and the lazy customs we have in south Africa. It was just easier with products ready!
I really don't know what to do. Close down the company and apologies to everyone. But this is not a reliable company.
I haven't even been given an explanation why the delay and what needs to be done.
The helpline is limited and the online support page.
Everthing else is great , the payments the dashboard the invoicing system , the reliability.
But NOT ANY PAYOUT.
I REGISTERED a second company on the paystack dashboard and for verified but at this point terrified to use it!
What the point of all the features, how do we prove we are delivering products..there is not system and all the clients felt safe to speak to the support page, WhatsApp page which we invoiced on paystack and send it via.email..now?
I am here to report them as they only respond to this level.. I see when we need to go to these platforms they respond.

DO NOT START RECEIVING MONEY ON PAYSTACK cause you won't be able to get it out. Their review process moves at a snail's pace and is super intrusive. I don't actually mind that they closed my business but they said they would refund my clients and its been three weeks and my clients are yet to receive their refunds. I don't understand a business that is associated with Stripe is a scam
Update: After seeing my review, they asked me to contact the complaints office, who at first claimed the money was sent to me ( it wasn't). This proved that there are shady practices over there. They agreed to refund my clients but it would take an additional 12 days (sigh!). Still waiting to see if my clients actually receive the refunds.

Absolutely great onboarding experience. Initially rejected, however the onboarding agent (Not sure if I am allowed to mention names) was fantastic and allowed me to explain my exact use case. After this was all cleared up, my account was activated in minutes.
Very happy indeed.

They withhold your money and have bot like staff that waste your time on calls.
Use their competitors.
Paystack has proven they are not ready for the Kenyan market. Disabling accounts without clear communication and withholding funds is not 'innovation'—it’s a lack of professionalism that stifles local businesses.
If you cannot provide a reliable service or respect the cash flow of your users, you should leave the market and make space for serious entities that actually have a vision for the future of African fintech. Their current approach is a hurdle to growth, not a solution. Give us our money and exit
