Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 652 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently report that delivery drivers fail to properly attempt drop-offs, leaving notification notes instead and forcing buyers to travel long distances to distant pickup locations. Consumer support is frequently described as quite unhelpful, providing generic automated messages and avoiding clear answers when people anxiously inquire about severely delayed shipments and missing parcels. Some people were satisfied with the service, noting that counter staff members were occasionally pleasant, kind, and genuinely helpful when assisting consumers with tracking down missing items, arranging fast redeliveries, or resolving urgent delivery issues.

Oct 23/26 at 11:41 am

Oct 23/26 at 11:41 am, purolator driver deliveried a not heavy but ackward size pkg that had been damaged. Two corners were punched in and one side had tape from top to bottom and from side too side. I was not home but my wife took the advicement of the driver that the damage was only to the box. Once I seen it, I looked in one hole to see the plastic back around the contents was ripped open, sterifoam was crushed. took pictures before opening only to find that the $500 item was dented in several places. The item was a propane fireplace/pit, which could have damage to burner assembly. Went to purolater depot in Regina, showed pictures to a Supervisor who suggested to start a damage claim, which he did. I was told someone would call me on Monday but I should contact the supplier in the mean time as they might/should replace the item. My thoughts why should the supplier replace it as it was not them causing the damages. I did and they they didn't think they should be at fault which I agreed. Monday I get a call from purolater damage/ customer service rep which told me "there was nothing she could do for me as the claim was started. She agree about the damage and also that the driver should have not deliveried any package that was damaged that much to any custmer in a state that TAPE was needed to hold it together. She, again instructed me to call the supplier but told me to say (lie to them) that it was not working which I never even tired to light it. Ther is absolutley NO CUSTOMER SERVICE VALUES FROM HER OR THE COMPANY. They, she, clearly were claiming no responsiblity for their employees or company wrong doing. Very unprofessional on all aspects of this incident. Hopefully this does not happen on a regular basics and should not happen to anyone in the future

If I could leave ZERO stars I would.

If I could leave ZERO stars, I absolutely would.

This has genuinely been one of the most frustrating and ridiculous delivery experiences I have ever dealt with.

Not only are the customer service representatives rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful, but one representative actually LAUGHED AT ME while I was trying to resolve an issue with my delivery. Absolutely unbelievable and beyond unprofessional.

My delivery was initially unsuccessful because my package was apparently 0.20 lbs over their 50 lb weight limit. Yes, you read that correctly. 0.20 LBS. Because of this, I had to call and reschedule the delivery, only to be told that the request would take another 2–3 business days to process. Of course, this was right before the weekend, meaning even more delays.

Fast-forward to today. I called first thing in the morning to CONFIRM that my package would be delivered. I was assured that it would be arriving today.

So, I rearranged my entire day to make sure I was home. I didn’t leave my condo, kept my phone volume turned all the way up, and constantly checked the tracking app. My building requires drivers to buzz through the call box, so I made absolutely certain I would be available to let them in.

NOT ONCE did my call box ring. NOT ONCE did I receive a phone call. Nobody attempted to contact me.

Yet somehow, I suddenly received an update stating “Unable to reach recipient. Unable to deliver.”

Are you actually kidding me?

I was HOME. I was AVAILABLE. I was WAITING specifically for this delivery after being assured it was coming today. To claim that I was unreachable when there was absolutely no attempt to contact me is completely unacceptable. From my perspective, THEY DIDN’T EVEN TRY TO DELIVER MY PACKAGE.

And now, after all of this, I’m being told I have to wait ANOTHER TWO BUSINESS DAYS just for a pickup request to be accepted.

The lack of accountability, communication, and basic customer service is honestly shocking. I have never experienced this kind of issue with any other courier company. How is it acceptable to repeatedly inconvenience customers, provide inaccurate delivery updates, and then make them wait even longer to fix a problem they didn’t create?

Absolutely terrible service from beginning to end. I would never willingly use this courier company again, and I strongly recommend avoiding them if you have the choice.

Customers should not have to chase down their own packages, rearrange their lives, and practically beg a delivery company to do the job they’re supposed to do.

Purolator is not a delivery company I…

Purolator is not a delivery company I would ever trust again. I ordered a product from Amazon expecting next-day delivery because I have Prime. Unfortunately, Amazon handed my package over to Purolator, and that's when everything went wrong.

What was supposed to be a quick and reliable delivery turned into a frustrating experience. Purolator has been completely unresponsive, with no proper updates, no notifications, and no clear information about my package. The delay has made the item practically useless to me because I needed it on time.

This level of service is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. Customers should not have to chase a delivery company just to find out where their packages are. Based on my experience, Purolator is unreliable, has terrible communication, and cannot be trusted to deliver packages when they are needed. I would strongly discourage anyone from relying on this company, especially for time-sensitive deliveries.

Absolutely horrible service

Absolutely horrible service. They delivered my package to the wrong house. I asked where so I could pick it up. They told me for privacy reasons, they could not tell me. It was however, ok to disclose my name and address to strangers. They know that is was delivered to the wrong house but said that it is too bad because the sender wrote the address wrong. Just wow

I used to trust Purolator more than…

I used to trust Purolator more than most other carriers, not anymore. Had a household appliance replaced under warranty that the manufacturer shipped from a warehouse in Ontario to our home in Alberta. Because of of us living in a rural area with a rural postal code and despite the fact that we have an official drop off and pick up location in town, Purolator claims our postal code is outside their service area. After 7 (seven) phone calls to Purolator customer service and repeated promises to have the issue resolved and getting the shipper involved, Purolator returned the package to the sender as 'undeliverable'. I lost the appliance plus the cost of shipping. If this was a one off I would say suck it up buttercup, but this incident and items getting 'lost' in transit has become a pattern in recent years.

lazy drivers

someone logged the pkg for delivery then forgot to put it on the truck. Then after the weekend, the driver said my pkg was undeliverable. I was home the whole time, the main doors were open and they didn't even attempt to use the phone in the foyer to call me. I had to go to a site and pick up after paying a delivery fee to my home. Incompetent, lazy drivers.

26 Years of Loyalty, and This Is How Purolator Treats Its Customers

We have been in business for 26 years, shipping over 1,600 Express boxes annually across Canada, and have exclusively used Purolator for that entire time. After more than two decades of loyalty, I am genuinely disgusted by how our business is now being treated.

Purolator has abruptly changed the terms under which we operate, removed our standard corporate discounts, and provided conflicting information in writing about account decisions and promised timelines. We have repeatedly had to chase answers that should never have required this level of effort to obtain. The lack of consistency, transparency, and accountability has been appalling.

The removal of our corporate discounts has also made Purolator far less competitive as a shipping provider. After 26 years of consistent business, it is difficult to understand why a longstanding customer would be treated in a way that makes taking our business elsewhere increasingly attractive.

The customer service experience has been equally disappointing. Too many responses feel like generic form letters rather than genuine engagement with the actual problem. Whether this reflects automated responses, inadequate training, or a broader failure in customer service management, the result is the same: customers are left repeating themselves, chasing answers, and receiving little meaningful assistance.

Our business supplies educational programs and materials to schools across Canada. Although we are a small business, the services we provide help make educational opportunities accessible to students and communities. Disruptions to our shipping arrangements have consequences beyond our own bottom line, affecting the schools, educators, and students who rely on us.

To be fair, the frontline staff we have dealt with have been great. My frustration lies with the corporate policies, account management decisions, and higher-level customer service processes that have turned what should be a straightforward business relationship into an exhausting and costly ordeal.

A company does not retain customers for 26 years by treating their loyalty as disposable. Purolator appears to have forgotten that reliable service, transparent communication, and fair treatment are the foundations of a lasting business relationship. Instead, we have been left questioning whether the company values longstanding customers at all.

If this is how Purolator intends to operate going forward, I have serious concerns about its ability to retain the very customers who have supported it for decades. A recognisable brand and an established delivery network can only carry a company so far when the customer experience at the corporate level is this poor.

After this long of a partnership, I never expected to be writing this review. Unfortunately, Purolator's recent handling of our account has given us very little reason to feel that our longstanding business is valued.

Purolator lost five count five parcels…

Purolator lost five count five parcels how well I found them the first time to say where are my parcels and why are you delivering them to a business that’s out of business and their response was what do you mean it’s out of business our delivery man was there I said and did he get to deliver the parcel? No they were closed. They were closed from October 2 until today, which is October 14th it took me to speak to two supervisors because every single person I’ve spoken to there which is five different people three of them said they had rerouted the parcels to a new location that was near to my house and was actually in business.
Yet as of today they delivered the parcels to the out of Business store so when I spoke to them, I said what did they do just throw the parcels in the front of the door and leave so from October 2 until now I have lost five parcels and Purolator can’t seem to find them so between POSHMARK who gave me the original address of this store. That’s not in business and Purolator. I’m out over $200 and all the parcels next time I’ll know to use UPS.

ABSOLUTE CRAP. PURE RUBBISH

if i can give a negative, i would have given a negative 100. Absolute rubbish service. Same address same details, yet one was delivered successfully, another one was DELIBERATELY not delivered for reason only these purolator clowns know. I told them one was delivered, one was not due to "delivery failed, return to sender" and when asked about the proof of why the delivery failed, nothing given. WOW. So these purolator clowns could deliver or reject deliveries ; depending on their mood. AVOID AT ALL COST

Telus Mobility uses Purolator as their Courier I explained to tell us that when I did my upgrade before with them the same situation everyone's run into has happened delivery guy put a sticky note on my side door of the house to the basement didn't come to the front door and ring the doorbell no one saw him even come and go took a day off at that point for the delivery had to take two days off well here we are again upgraded with Telus didn't realize till I was already submitted that they said it was coming with Purolator delivery was supposed to come this morning or today and at the very last minute it went from being on the truck to off the truck twice within 20 minutes and then scheduled for out for delivery next business day with no real explanation other than the driver's trucks might have been too full I said that's BS to tell somebody that two different drivers have a 1500 cell phone that they're passing around like a hot potato and now I have to take a second day off work to sit around and wait for this driver to pull the same stunt they always pull I'm pretty much just going to sit out front on my lawn all day what's even worse is seeing the generic reply from Purolator the gas light tactic to have you send the info to them and they do nothing but laugh tell us told me that if the phone arrives damaged or any further delays due to Purolator and they're well-known laziness they will be 100% accountable for that $1,500 phone the fact is is it was already on a truck to leave in the morning and all sudden right before the driver leaves it can't fit on his truck or he doesn't have room for a parcel that's probably smaller than 90% of the stuff he has on there just more BS excuses from them comes out when I talk to the person on the phone I asked if I could just go pick it up but all of a sudden it's at a facility that's not directly in my city just outside of it how convenient I told them if the driver doesn't deliver it tomorrow they better have it sent somewhere tomorrow morning for me to go pick it up right away it's a cell phone I'm waiting on it and the fact that Purolator is the laziest most unreliable money hungry greedy people is dumbfounding the fact is is their VPS and presidents of the company don't give a crap at all they'll give a crap when sales go down or they're Revenue in the year starts taking a massive downhill Spike but until then they don't give a crap about their customers whatsoever if they did there would be better tracking and their drivers would be held accountable the fact is every other company including small courier companies have tracking and live tracking the reason why they don't is so that they can't see their drivers sleeping in their trucks in the shade off the side of the road instead of doing their jobs pathetic

Such a shoddy delivery system

Such a shoddy delivery system! My parcel should have been delivered a week ago. On the day it was to arrive, the status changed to ‘delayed’ and it hasn’t been updated since. There is no one to call here in Yellowknife. The chat bot is unusable as it won’t let me enter my name. I have finally found a phone number outside the territory and have been on hold for over 20 minutes. Such bad service!!
Addendum: The woman who answered the phone was very nice and incredibly helpful and she put a tracer on my package, so hopefully I will receive my package soon. I won’t be ordering anything that Purolator has to deliver ever again, though.
