Very user-friendly. You get a really good harvest. And if you do it right, you can get like three harvest out of each pad. The last pod is the one I’m concerned about this is what it looks like when I open it up. I’ve never had that before. Just curious what your thoughts are.

As a beginner, the Ryzapod is a great tool for safely colonizing mycelium and avoiding dreaded contamination. You just inoculate and let the all in one pod slowly work its magic. This newer model also colonizes faster than the last version thanks to a little ball that allows you to effectively break and shake early on and spread things around -- I can see the difference. That said, I have not found the Ryza to be good for fruiting -- it's very prone to producing side pins and the humidity dome is too high to create humid conditions for top fruits early in the process. I have adopted my own technique of removing the colonized Ryza substrate from its pod once its time to fruit and moving it to a dubtub where things seem less constrained and happier! But, honestly, I also think I could probably be just as well served with brown rice flour jars going forward given the cost of the Ryza pods. I'm glad to have tried them as a newbie, but considering they're not great for fruiting and they're pretty pricey, it's not an ideal solution.
