Keep a close watch on your indoor environment with the SparkFun ENS160 Indoor Air Quality Sensor. Built around the ScioSense ENS160 digital gas sensor, this compact breakout features four independent heaters and gas-sensing elements based on advanced metal-oxide (MOX) technology. Instead of just giving you raw, complicated data, the on-board controller handles the heavy lifting by running intelligent algorithms directly on-chip! This allows you to pull instant, calibrated air quality readings without bogging down your microcontroller with complex calculations. Intelligent On-Chip Air Analysis ScioSense's TrueVOC® technology ensures your readings comply with worldwide indoor air quality standards right out of the box. The independent hotplate control on the ENS160 provides outstanding sensitivity to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) while ignoring distracting background gases. Calculated Environmental Indexes: The on-chip brain automatically computes CO2-equivalents (eCO2), Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC), and standard Air Quality Indices (AQIs). Built-In Compensation: The sensor automatically handles baseline management and temperature and humidity compensation to maintain output stability over time. Additionally, while the pre-processed outputs are ready for immediate use, you can still access the raw sensor measurements if you want to implement your own custom filtering or algorithms. The documentation is really good except for the "Table 7: Single Gas Signal Characteristics ". It seems for each gas the same register is used GPR_READ[6:7]). Also it appears through some experimentation that reserved register 0x28 seems to react to carbon monoxide (???).
