Another great Spitfire Audio synth. They seem to have a more pleasing organic sound than others I have tried. I write quite a few ambient pieces, and their synths really give them a sound unlike others. And the controls allow for tweaking the presets to exactly what I need. I already used one of the bass sounds in a cinematic piece, and it fit right in. And I haven't even listened to all of the presets.
The sounds in the library are absolutely brilliant. So well curated and exactly what I expected having read the background of the instrument. However, the library itself is really annoying to navigate, with no decent grouping or filtering of individual presets. That's something I've come to expect in the huge world of virtual instruments, a quick way of narrowing a big library down to just a bass timbre, or a percussive timbre, or a pad, or whatever. Without that kind of filtering I can see myself rarely using Jupiter, as usually I'm looking for a quick and accessible library structure. Maybe that's something that could be implemented with an update?
Very cool product, great for experimenting with electronic sounds. Love the blending method for each sample, I also like that it uses Solar to use as VST.

Fantastic and interesting library. Very good value when discounted to £49. However, I could not justify buying this at full prices (£129?), sorry!
A world class allrounder. Great for layering existing pads. The synths and drums give my electronic productions added edge. Sound quality is amazing :)
upiter, as a library, isn't terribly bad, in terms of quality of sounds. But, users should be aware of some of the things I've discovered, in using it (some are things that a lot of other users have expressed dissatisfaction with, as well). First, there library's presets are poorly labeled. You can't get a real sense of what a preset sounds like without sampling it. This leads to a lot of time being spent clicking through things, to find the type of sound that you want. Spitfire has had this problem in the past, and it can lead to users giving up on going too deep into their costly libraries to find a sound, because it just takes too long! Second, many (and I mean MANY) of the presets are just too similar. This was another complaint that I've seen with many other Spitfire libraries, from other users, as well as with Jupiter. If this was in a Kontakt player, they could have taken presets that were all from the same source and made "snapshots" to make things easier for users. I'm sure being able to do something like that in their own UI would have been relatively simple. Third, if you have multiple instances of Jupiter in a template, and you are sampling them to determine which ones you want to use for a composition, some of the samples will emit a frequency that your DAW will recognize as "sound" and when you go to bounce your finished track, it will just keep rendering out, after the track ends, because something you triggered in the discovery phase is still emitting something in the background (Spitfire had the same issue with Aperture 4, because of their background noise settings). This makes it necessary to mute any tracks that you auditioned, prior to exporting your project. A lot of this makes this library super time-expense. And, users need to know this, going forward.
Retro,beautiful and powerful synth sounds. It's fit for cinematic music than dance music.
Fabulous. This library is fantastic. Perhaps also because I've always loved Trevor Horn's productions. The amount of raw material is extraordinary. Every sound has its own personality, its own story. Nothing is ordinary. I think I'll always use something from this library from now on. Which, by the way, I just did for theater music and an arrangement
This Trevor Horn sound library delivers on its promises! And not only as an eighties oriented collection, many sounds can be used in very different contexts, thanks also to the creative controls of Solar. I leave one star out, wishing they will improve the library search which is confusing and buggy.

Great sounds
I find many of the sounds in this VST enjoyable, and I think it could blend nicely with my VPS Avenger collection in a mix. However, the user interface requires some more exploration, as I haven't achieved the expected results yet.
Very interesting for me as an old 80s and Trevor Horn fan. The sounds are by no means oldschool, but you have to use them properly, good idea to make such a library.
