Symphonic Extras is a treasure trove of unique sounds that elevate your sound design above and beyond the palette of a typical orchestra. A celebration of the path less travelled, this collection explores unconventional sound sources that colour your compositions with intriguing timbres and textures, while pushing the boundaries of traditional instruments. This remarkable suite of tuned percussion spans the metallic resonance of the Aluphone and Cimbalom to the haunting whispers of the Hg2O waterphone. Explore an experimental collection of Scraped Percussion (including a bowed bicycle wheel), as well as innovative takes on a plucked Piano, Steel Drums and, and the delicate beauty of a baroque Harpsichord. Masterfully recorded in AIR’s Lyndhurst Hall by London’s first-call session musicians, this library perfectly complements the Albion range or Spitfire Symphony Orchestra, all instruments sharing the same stunning acoustics that have been heard on countless film scores. Delve into a range of unconventional and extraordinary instruments that spark your most creative arrangements.

These are all great instruments, but this is just a bunch of old Kontakt libraries re-packaged in the Spitfire UI. First star off is because I have all the Kontakt versions and within the Kontakt environment they're more flexible and functional. In fact, I rebuild and rename every Spitfire UI library in Komplete so I can make sense of how it's organized and actually know what's in it. Next star drop, did I get a discount of any kind? Nope.

I bought this hoping to get a sound source for steel drums, but unfortunately it was completely useless. Even when I adjusted the velocity, the sound changed too much and it was far from being realistic.

The harpsichord is really cool and impressive. The instrument content is also quite good. The scraped sound percussion is diverse and seems to be useful.

Good set, very useful. Since this is a collection of pre-existing libraries, I would like it to have more microphones, such as the gallery and ribbon, which were available in older versions.

This Library is a superb addition if you already have the Symphony Orchestra Library. I love the Harpsichord.
