Neuschwanstein castle is spectacular from the outside, but I wouldn't waste money on a guided tour. It cost 40 euros, involved over 200 steps and lasted 24 minutes. We were herded round in huge groups. I'd recommend staying outside in the village of Fussen and look at the spectacular view of the outside
