The only reason I am giving two stars is because 1 of the 2 items I purchased was good.

The other item I purchased was described as "very good" condition. It was apparent from the ad that there were some marks on the item (this was not the issue). What was not said ANYWHERE on the ad or in the description was that the latch to the item was completely broken. The bag does not latch closed at all.

I raised this with the Real Real when I received the item, including providing a quote I received to repair the latch ($250+) and apparently the best they could offer was a refund of $100 (up from an initial $50 offer).

It was a totally unsatisfactory experience. A return would have put me in a worse financial position given that I paid import duties.

The item should have been properly described and the refund should have been sufficient to repair the defect.

Fast delivery, accurate website description

The Helmut Lang jacket has a large water stain on the shoulder that was not disclosed in the description of the condition of the jacket. It is a very obvious stain that makes the jacket not wearable.

As business transactions go this interaction went smoothly and shipping was timely. The item was as shown and pricing was reasonable.

I am disappointed with The RealReal in two ways: (1) price of items of interest was more than purchase price from original source; and (2) packaging was shoddy: items were in plastic bags vs The RealReal cloth bags. Very disappointing!

Worst experience ever. I spent $65 on shipping then another 71 for duties and Customs. Then had to return the item at my own cost!!

The website is easily navigable, and communication around purchased items and shipping is always prompt. The items I've purchased so far have been in great shape and easily worth the price I paid.

The size was wrong on The Real Real site from the item I received. I told the person helping me that I didn’t have time for a return at the beginning of the chat. The sizing issue was because of The Real Real’s sizing mistake, and could have been avoided had they checked the sizing label inside of the shoe. In the end I wasted time and money, and have shoes that don’t fit me. I don’t want to be told that The Real Real will “waive the shipping fee” for me after 10 minutes of chatting and checking on representative checking the details that they missed from the beginning. It felt like I got taken advantage of by The Real Real and they put the work on me, leaving me without a refund and wasting my time.

The item was as described so no complaints. but I have two comments. This is, by far, the most I have ever spent on a handbag and I don't regret indulging for once in my life. But I have to say I expected the packaging to be much better. The bag was shoved in a shipping box, not even stuffed to help keep its shape and the tissue paper and dust bag were separate. I know for a fact the dust bag was NOT a YSL and it was in bad shape. Rather than sending some beat up old generic dust bag, just skip it altogether. I honestly expected the bag in its own box, not directly in the shipping carton, paper stuffed in the bag and tissue paper around the bag the way you would a gift. I see more care in the packaging for items for a fraction of the cost that I buy from Etsy. The second issue was shipping. I will never use standard shipping again. It took literally 13 days to reach me (ordered 6/25 received July 8) and the delivery date was changed twice. Horrible. I just made another purchase and paid the extra $20 for expedited shipping. Just a heads up to future customers

I gave them a new pair of Sorel après ski boots never worn, in the box, price on them $240. A pair of Saks black leather boots, NWT in box, $350. A super thick, large kors backpack, $300, excellent condition, and an Overlander large unused canvas and leather bag 190. I got a check for 57.59 FOR EVERYTHING. OVER $1,OOO IN GOODS FOR 57.59.

LEECH COMPANY. I'M SICK THAT I WORKED WITH THEM. They also lost track of my items took a year for them to find them.

Don't know how it is to buy there, BUT I LOST A FORTUNE SELLING THERE. On Real Real you are basically donating your items to them.
