I do not recommend Wiber Rent a Car at…

I do not recommend Wiber Rent a Car at Alicante Airport

I rented a car from Wiber Rent a Car at Alicante Airport, Spain, from 25 June 2026 for three days.

When I collected the car, it already had several damages, and these were recorded on the rental agreement. However, there was one very small scratch underneath the side mirror that was not listed. The scratch was so minor that it was almost not easy to notice.
When I returned the car, the inspector went directly to that exact scratch, as if he already knew it was there.
He immediately claimed it had to be repaired and said the cost would be deducted from my fuel deposit. I became really surprised, because I am sure it was not me!
I explained that the scratch was already on the car when I picked it up, but he insisted that I had to pay for it.
I then asked that, if they believed I was responsible, the charge should be taken from the damage deposit instead of the fuel deposit, so I could submit a claim through my travel insurance. The employee promised this would be done, but that promise was never kept.
Since then, I have sent several messages to Wiber requesting an exclamation, but I have received no response at all. The lack of communication and customer service has been extremely disappointing.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Wiber Rent a Car at Alicante Airport. I felt treated unfairly and left with the impression that customers can be charged for pre-existing damage without proper investigation or support. Be careful also the staff ask you (the client) to rate them 10 stars in the beginning, and before signing the agreement. It is not free ratting!
I would hear answer from the management why the staff have such treatment.

Wiber car rental at Alicante airport

Wiber car rental at Alicante airport. I refused to pay extra insurance. Took photos showing no damage. On return there was a mark like a finger nail scratch underneath where the front bumper joined the frame of the car. Impossible to see unless you lay down on the floor. Couldn't see it on a photograph. Clearly a brand new mark placed there to catch users. Total rip off. Does not reduce value of the car. Could have been rubbed out with a bit of polish. Charged £285. Very sad because on previous visits Wiber have been fine. Guess what as it was a long rental the insurance i saved would have cost £285. Will never use Wiber again so have lost long term customer and guess what I will tell everybody I can.

Rude, mis-selling waivers and a broken vehicle. Do not trust.

Without doubt the worst experience from start to finish. What a disreputable awful negligent company. Upon arrival we had to wait for 40 minutes for a shuttle bus. Then upon check in everything was smiles until we politely declined the blatant, desperate upselling of . Collision Damage Waiver, an additional €137 for 3 days rental. Our refusal of additional cover prompted them to then insist that we had to pay €2,500 as a deposit on a debit card. Again we politely refused. They insisted that they could not take an alternative credit card. The manager of the depot was so rude that she threatened to call the police because we had stated that we were being mis-sold over priced waivers.
Finally having been forced to pay the CDW €137 we drove the vehicle to Granada where we discovered the vehicle does not lock properly. The rear tailgate window is faulty and cannot lock into place which means the vehicle cannot lock with our 3 rental bikes unsecured. Please take this seriously- this company cannot are horrendous.

Very poor customer support

Flights were cancelled and we had to be at the airport earlier than scheduled drop-off.
No answer at helpline. Left a message. Nobody called back. Had to leave vehicle at next-door neighbor, abutting their office. We are being charged €25 for that plus had to get alternative transport to the airport in Seville.

Avoid Wiber Alicante – Chaotic, Rude, and Zero Customer Care

Terrible experience at Wiber Alicante. We arrived a little early and were told to stand aside and wait 20 minutes before they’d even speak to us. When they finally did, they informed us that the car we had booked didn’t even exist in their fleet — not a great start.
The attitude from the staff was rude from the first interaction and got progressively worse. When our bank’s location setting blocked the €1100 deposit, they refused to try another credit card and basically shut down any cooperation. The only thing they were eager to do was upsell us a full insurance package (even though we had already paid for insurance via Booking.com) for a price that was almost double the rental cost.
When I said we felt like “second-rank” customers because we booked through Booking.com, the agent literally acknowledged it. Another customer walking out at that moment said he had just gone through the same nonsense.
We cancelled the booking immediately and accepted the cancellation fee just to get out of there. After seeing how many other travellers report similar issues, I’m honestly relieved we didn’t drive away with one of their cars.
In my opinion, something is very off here, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting from this location.

Arnaque à l'assurance

ENGLISH TEXT BELOW

A little disappointed
When we received the car, Wiber told us that the insurance we had paid €135 for on Discover Car was not recognised by them.
We therefore had to pay an extra €200.
When we complained, they ́said it would be better to go through them directly next time to avoid this problem.
And we didn't get any assistance because Wiber reckons you have to sort it out with Discover Car.
For the record, they don't accept credit card insurance either. You can use it, but you have to pay a deposit of Rs 2500!!!!
We've rented cars in many countries before and this is the first time we've come across this situation.
It's a pity because otherwise the service is good.

Friendly helpful staff, great car!

Friendly, helpful staff, good regular shuttle bus, good car. I have hired Wiber cars at both Malaga and Alicante—I've been happy with both. This particular review is of the car I received at Malaga Airport—this venue didn't appear in the drop-down menu.Staff didn't do the hard sell of taking out their own excess insurance when I told them that I already had this arranged. Wiber will be my first choice to try when I next need to rent a car in Spain!

DO NOT BOOK A RENTALCAR at WIBER

Acar rental company that will punish you with completely unreasonable fees.
Apparently WIBER has a smart “upload of damages” on their app. and online.
PROBLEM: You cannot access the photos when they have chosen to end the rental and invoice you for three damages we did not cause. The damages were on the car we received and we mentioned it to the rental company who replied “No problems”.
Fortunately, we took photos and uploaded them to Wiber, but as mentioned, could not access them online or on the app, when they had ended the rental.
I found the photos of exactly the mentioned damages, which we had taken on a mobile camera at the start of the rental on 22/3.
They were of course completely correctly dated, but they would not approve them.
They charge you:
*If you are in a hurry, have to catch a flight.
*If you do not want to buy insurance from Wiber (We had bought full cover through RyanAir/RentalCover)
*If you do not get in writing that the car has been inspected
Reasonable rental price (it seemed), but Wiber will definitely make sure that YOU will pay overprice in the end:-(
NOTE! Their high “rating” is because you give the employee and WIBER a review on a touch screen, but BEFORE the car is delivered and of course before it is returned. REALLY poor customer service, and could observe that several people were subjected to the same treatment in the 50 minutes it took to return the car.
Especially one WIBER person acted directly threating to me and my wife.
Overall a totally bad experience leaving Alicante & Spain

Bad reviews here are (were) for Wiber car rental!

For a telecoms company they have a dreadful website! but the service is great, and super cheap. I've been using them for 6 months without issues. I also had a sim card thrown in, with LOADS of data, which is great (though I had to call them to get them to activate it to work outside Spain)

Wiber Palma

Wiber Palma, Mallorca
We got 10 rather confusing pictures on previous damages on the car when we picked it up and were told to photo any other damages, which we. Among the pictures were two front bumber damages which we as far we could see where from the left and rigth side. When we returned the car the man from Wiber claimed that the pictures where from the same side which clearly is not the case and that there was a new damage on the other side. It was impossible to argue with the man that the damage had not taken place while the car was in our possession. We will never rent a car from Wiber again and we will recommend others that if they do they must photograph not only damages but also all undamaged parts of the car

Scamming with low price

Stay away from this company!
Took out car rental with Wiber via 3rd party (booking.com) from Malaga airport. Firstly, you should expect an extra 30mins both when picking up and returning the car as you have to take a shuttle bus to where the car is actually located. The original price was low, about 20-25 euros per day. The guy at the counter asked/threatened me 4-5 times to take the full coverage insurance for 55 euros extra. I refused every time and he got more and more annoyed. I’m pretty sure the employees also get extra commission for hustling you into getting the full coverage.
In the end they needed to reserve 65 euros on my credit card for fuel reservation. That’s where they got me. They claimed I needed a physical creditcard for this (which they knew I didn’t have). However, it was possible to pay with my phone (without physical card) if I took the full coverage of 55 euros as this was a ‘preprogrammed’ amount. I eventually gave in a surprise surprise, then it magically worked!
Stay away from this company! They lure you with a low price and you often end up paying 3x the amount.

SCAM, DOUBLE CHARGES - DON’T BOOK!!!

After some research, booked Wiber. Seemed like best rates and ratings. Ended up paying double the amount in the end. Took out car rental with Wiber via 3rd party (booking.com). Took full cover, adding an additional €50 to bill. Car rental was just over €230 for 5 days. When we arrived, we were informed that I still had to pay an excess of €1700 should something happen to car (to be reserved on the card), and that this would need to be claimed back from booking.com. Was told that they cannot guarantee what third party’s t’s and c’s are, which is understandable. Then they insinuated that this “full” cover that I took out is not really full cover, and if we want “full full” cover, its another addition €150. Was also told that should we not take this, we would be liable for the €1700 excess. To make a claim, we would also need a police report, and was told that this would be nearly impossible as the police only come out with major crashes. All good and well, but the point is that they trick you with a low price at the start, then when you get the car, the actual price is almost double. Ended up paying almost €400 for the rental, almost the same price as our entire accommodation for the week. In this case, rather get a rental from one of the big rental companies directly at the airport (all costs included), and it will also save you another 1-2 hours having to take a shuttle to get to them, as they are outside the airport.
Other issues:
- defect car (kept fogging up, had to drive with aircon and wipers on most of the time.
- Car full of damage, nobody available to check car with you.
- Nobody answering the phone when you call customer service

Will never use again, several issues

WIBER Malaga,Ctra. Guadalmar, 7 car hire. It states on our contract with you that all taxes, fees etc are covered. We had to pay £130 to be able to take the car away. I'm absolutely disgusted. We were told NOT refundable. We
had NOT been warned or prepared for this as not told at any time,NOR listed on our
booking.

This appalling company had us almost miss our flight home.
We arrived on 22nd, in plenty of time, EARLIER than drop off time of 3.30, to return the car.
A transfer to airport vehicle, left as we were waiting as it was full. We were told it would be 15 minutes for the next one. This was fine as still left enough time to get to the airport for our 5pm flight.
After 20 mins wait and more people had arrived, still no sign of our transfer. Then we overheard a blonde WIBER employee tell another new couple 25 minutes for a transfer.
We asked when it would be arriving and told 15 minutes! Now it was 3.45 and no transfer.
We then see a WIBER transfer van come in on a truck!

We asked again the same blonde woman, when we would be leaving. Her response was, transfer had had an accident, hence on a tow truck.

So why did they not put on another van?

Why not let us all know what had happened. Why were we not informed how long another van would take to take us. NOT A WORD of communication.

We then had to ask for them to call us a taxi.

Then they find a van. We start to get on and told to get off and they bring another van!
So they had the transport, but didn't give a damn about people getting flights on time.

We left WIBER just after 4pm. We had to rush, as fast as possible, to catch our flight as it was boarding and on last call. We only just managed to get it.

The car service lights kept coming on, so obviously needed doing. Other lights too.

Rip off company and rude staff

No problem at all, no complications, no troubles and much cheaper than other rental companies.
Absolutely recommended.
Not inside the airport but the shuttle service is very fast and very efficient.

I had no issues with the La Palma…

I had no issues with the La Palma office on Mallorca.
Easy pickup, if a little tardy, from near to arrivals. Quick and friendly check-in and handover. The vehicle was really lovely - a SUV - clean and perfect. I took a video of any )small) issues.
The return was equally stress-free. A reasonable check-over with no problems ( I do look after any car I rent) and quick drop back to the airport.
Yes...good to deal with.

Wow!!

Wow! Having had a phone line and internet with Telefoncia for over ten years, who repeatedly told me that my area was unsuitable for fibre and there was no way they could increase my internet speeds ... I saw a Wiber van in the local town, so gave them a call (not expecting very much).

They came to install fibre two days later. For the last few years I have had incredibly fast internet, a fixed IP address, 100 or so channels of TV and a fixed phone line for 1/3rd the cost of Telefonica.

What is more, I even have customer service. Companies are often best judged by what they do when things go wrong. Two days ago there was a fire nearby, and my internet went. I phoned Wiber to find out what was going on ... and wait for this ... I did not spend 10 minutes pressing options on my key pad, nor spend 30 minutes on hold; I spoke to a real human being with 30 seconds of calling. That real human being explained the problem and told me that they had people on the ground working on mending the damage to the cable. I then received a text, to update me on progress. And just after midnight, everything came back up. Full marks.

I can heartily recommend Wiber.es. This level of customer care is almost unheard of these days!
