I was looking for a puffer jacket for a trip to Nepal and Jonny at the Bromley store was extremely helpful when deciding which way to go. He was very knowledgeable and even looked at his back room stock in case there was an alternative that wasn’t on the shop floor.
When I returned to the store after having a little think, his colleague (I didn’t get his name but he looked a little similar to Jonny) took up the reins with equal knowledge where I ended up buying the Rab Microlight Alpine Down jacket and I’m extremely happy with the purchase. Thank you again guys

I bought my trekking shoes and tried them on for a week indoors. I found they were too tight and took them back. I was served by a gentleman called Otis who couldn’t do enough to find me a pair that fitted well. In fact the shoe I settled on was slightly more expensive than the original but Otis price matched it for me. Great service.

Went in to buy some durable walking boots, but didn't know what to look for. The shop assistant, Eloise, was really helpful in finding the shoes that would fit best, within the budget that I was looking for.

Will definitely be going back next time I need more hiking gear.

They were very helpful and accompanied me while shopping and even held my stuff! Very kind and welcoming staff. :)

A good selection of footwear to choose from but best of all was the service I received. Excellent product knowledge especially in relation to the foot problems that I have. Your salesperson was happy to spend time with me to ensure I bought the right product.

Brilliant service from a young lady (red hair, glasses) with picking out a great boot, getting the right colour, and setting up an online order. Definitely needs a pay rise!

I came in to get some new trekking boots as my old ones have seen better days. Forget the name of the chap who served me, but sorted me out exactly what I wanted, had my size in stock and a great price too, and even got some socks at half price with them! Will be back soon for a new backpack!

I started using Blacks in Bromley since before lockdown, I have made a lot of purchases and never had any problems and the staff have always been polite and very helpful . I recently visited the store as I had a problem with a air mattress pump which was sorted by the manager Robin and the product was exchanged with another swift and polite service reassuring me I would have no future problem with the new one . Anything I need with regards to camping or outdoor clothing or equipment I would always chose this store to visit for a future purchase .

I have a few hikes planned this year and not much experience. I was the only customer in the store and after a while someone shouted at another employee to help me. I asked if I should size up for walking boots due to getting hot feet/ swelling. The clearly either new/ untrained staff member radioed the other staff member in store and was relaying back the answers to my questions to which I took on and chose some boots. Asked for my size and waited a long time for him to come back and said he couldn’t find them- the other staff member said he was looking in the whole place and said they were kids shoes. I pointed out myself that maybe kids shoes weren’t for me (they were advertised in the woman’s section) I asked for 2 more pairs to try and they didn’t have my size. I still bought socks and a top, whilst walking out I noticed the ones on display outside the store- in my size, I tried and bought them.

Half an hour into my hike my feet were hot and were incredibly uncomfortable, I had to continue 15 miles in agony. I am now stuck with boots that arnt my size. I wanted to buy all the kit I needed for all my hikes but the staff were just so unhelpful. The guy serving me even left his work/ ID card at home so couldn’t even put them through the till for me as he said he was tired and forgot it.
