Keswick Retreat. Disappointing pet friendly lodge.
We stayed in the Wordsworth Lodge (pet friendly). On our arrival we were given the keys we entered the lodge there was a smell of sewage and a ridiculous amount of flies.
We noticed how tatty and tired the lodge looked:
Ripped curtains & arm chairs, laminate flooring & skirting board lifting. Unclean paint work.
We spoke to reception staff who provided us with a can of fly spray & told us to run the water for 5mins to remove the smell of sewage (worked to a degree). We were told some of the lodges are tired looking and they are in the process of updating them...not good enough.

Absolutely delighted
We are absolutely delighted to own a holiday home at Aberconwy Resort & Spa. It has truly been a life changing experience for our family. We explored several options across the region and carried out extensive research before making our decision, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice.
From start to finish, our experience with the sales team has been exceptional. Everyone has been kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful throughout the process. Hermione, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, and we are very grateful for her support.
One of the things we value most is the wonderful community at the resort. We have lovely neighbours, and everyone we meet shares the same desire to relax, unwind, and enjoy their time here. There is a genuine sense of friendliness and belonging that makes every visit special.
What started as a holiday destination has become so much more, it has become a lifestyle. Even those who have owned their holiday homes here for many years still speak with excitement about returning to the resort, which says everything about the unique atmosphere and experience Aberconwy Resort & Spa offers.
We would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to create lasting memories and enjoy the very best of holiday home ownership.

We have been on Aberconwy for 11 years.
We have been on Aberconwy for 11 years.
11 very happy years.
The site has everything… amazing restaurant, pool, spa, gym, hair salon and coffee shop.
Add to that the beach is right on the doorstep, the marina is a 10 minute walk and a stroll into Cowy town is about 25 minutes.
The groundskeepers do a great job and it’s always looking immaculate.
Yes, it’s not the cheapest park in the area but you get what you pay for.
Looking forward to the next 11 years here.

We have been at Aberconwy for nearly 2 years now and we all agree it’s the best decision we have ever made. Rick and his team have bent over backwards to ensure that our time there has been perfect.

I was disappointed with the cleanliness. Majority of the lodge was great. In the bathroom there were hundreds of spider eggs which I hoovered up and two days later they were back. Dust on shelves, and big cobwebs above door which i watched a spider catch two flies and wrap them. Despite this i love the holiday
A few improvements could be made.
A few improvements could be made.
No broom with which to sweep up only dust pan and brush.
No walk in shower only bath tubs, which did not have any safety grab handles, dangerous climbing into bath tub at 80+ yrs of age.
Windows of lodge were absolutely filthy need a darn good clean.
Duvet in master bedroom barley covers the bed, no where near big enough.
TV in main lounge, screen on the way out, had two bright spots right in middle of screen.
Apart from these items we had an enjoyable stay at the Woodside Bay Retreat, Isle of White.
We’ve just returned from another stay…
We’ve just returned from another stay at Piran Meadows and, once again, the whole experience has been spot on.
The site itself is absolutely immaculate — everything is clearly well looked after, from the lodges through to the grounds, which are consistently clean, tidy and maintained to a really high standard. It’s one of those places where you can switch off straight away because everything just feels right.
The facilities are excellent. The swimming pool is a real highlight — clean, well run and perfect for families — and there’s plenty to keep the kids busy with activities throughout the day. There’s genuinely something for everyone, which makes it ideal whether you're there to relax or keep the kids entertained.
The bistro restaurant is another big positive. Great food, good atmosphere and exactly what you want on-site after a busy day — simple, quality meals done properly, with plenty of choice for both adults and children.
What really sets Piran Meadows apart though is the team. Every member of staff we came across was friendly, helpful and clearly takes pride in what they do — and that shows across the whole park.
A particular thank you to Paul Wilcox, the Site Manager. His leadership and attention to detail are evident throughout the site, and it’s clear the standards he sets filter right through the team. It genuinely makes a difference.
All in all, a fantastic site that we’d absolutely recommend — and we’ll definitely be back again.
Great
Our accommodation was ready as there was an issue with the boiler before we arrived. They gave us complimentary coffee at the bar while we waited, which was a really nice touch. The Lodge itself was spotlessly clean and had everything you could want. We ate in the bistro on both nights of our stay and the food was really tasty.

Hidden Gem
After more than eight years at Aberconwy Spa & Resort, I can honestly say it’s become so much more than a holiday park — it’s a community. I’ve made fabulous friends here, and every visit still feels like a breath of fresh air. The park is beautifully situated, wonderfully quiet, and the perfect place to switch off and relax.
Signatures Restaurant is our little gem. The food is always amazing, and Jimmy and his team make you feel welcome the second you walk through the door. It’s the kind of place you look forward to before you’ve even left home.
And of course, a special mention to Hermione and Rick in the sales team — always smiling, always helpful, great team all round from the sales, gym, spa, restaurant, maintenance & security, always happy to help - I’m not moving.
AVOID AVOID AVIOD, pure filth.
We stayed at a Darwin escapes holiday site in Mullion Cornwall called “Mullion Cove Coastal Retreat” from May into June 2026, this place is vile, I cannot put into words how BAD this place is, filth is an understatement!!! If I could attach pictures I would of to help people looking to book, you would be SHOCKED !!! PLEASE do your homework and read ALL reviews before parting with hundreds of pounds to stay in this cesspit (read the bad reviews NOT just the good ones) the bad ones are spot on !! IT IS FILTHY !!

Here now at Cheddar woods only had a 3 day break for my friends birthday and we was put in a lodge with a broken hot tub! Main reason for the weekend! No communication to what’s happening. Just told you will get a refund for that day and Rubbish tv signal also! Just something else to go wrong.
