Customers often appreciate the helpful and friendly staff, with many highlighting specific employees for their knowledge and excellent service. The garden center itself is frequently praised for its selection and overall appeal, and some found the food quality to be good, especially breakfast. However, many people were dissatisfied with the service, citing long queues, understaffing, and uncleared tables, leading to significant waiting times. Ordered some soup and when eventually…

Ordered some soup and when eventually sat down to enjoy was stone cold. Also ordered a large coffee ended up half a cup. Service is going down hill.
One service person was cleaning floor with brush and shovel but ended up touching shovel when emptying into waist bin. Then started serving cakes and never changed her blue gloves. Heath and safety plus hygiene not taken into consideration

A Fantastic Experience for Children!

My grandson , Ionut, has been attending the Little Seedlings Club Workshop every month for the past year, and it has become one of the highlights of his month. He has learned so much about gardening, nature, plants, insects, wildlife and how to care for the environment, all through fun, hands-on activities that keep the children engaged and excited.
At the end of his first year, he was incredibly proud to receive his Gold Certificate, which was a wonderful achievement and a lovely way to celebrate everything he had learned. He has now started his second year, and he looks forward to every session just as much as he did on his very first visit.
A huge thank you to Ellie and Caitlin for their kindness, patience and enthusiasm. They have a wonderful way of making every child feel included, confident and excited to learn. Please also pass on our thanks to the rest of the team, who all do an amazing job.
The Little Seedlings Club is such a fantastic programme, and we’re so grateful that Dobbies offers opportunities like this for children. It’s educational, creative, well organised and, most importantly, it inspires a genuine love of nature. We would wholeheartedly recommend it to every family.

Went for lunch with grandchildren

Went for lunch with grandchildren, the food was disgusting. The children had kids meals ,four very insipid looking chicken nuggets. The chips were ok, my lasagne wasn't too bad .But that's about as good as gets ,the girl serving on till seemed half asleep. I will not return to the cafe .

Arbour less and unhappy

So, my local Dobbies in Stirling sent out a flier advertising great savings on garden furniture. Have recently visited the store I had spotted a lovely cottage arbour that I thought would be a fantastic addition to my garden. With the saving, the promise of free delivery and the offer of interest free credit I sped through there to make the deal. I spoke to a staff member outlining my purchasing intentions and after waiting about an hour ( I was very keen) the person with the required tech to process the sale became available. Infact I had the attention of two very helpfull staff members. The completion of the paperwork, can you still call it that as everything is electronic and online now? was haphazard to say the least but after around another hour they managed to take my deposit provide me with a receipt and let me leave the store. I was exhausted but happy that I had secured a new addition to my garden. I was looking forward to hosting a small family gathering to celebrate my mums 99th birthday and also later the arrival of my daughter and grandchildren on holiday from Bahrain. This worked perfectly with the four to six week delivery time frame. After four weeks and no communication I called Dobbies for an update. They were as surprised as me that I hadn't heard anything and said that they would investigate and get back to me. Then came some talk of have to wait for communication from head office but no actual information regarding my order. When I raised my plans for family events the chap on the phone did offer me the display model at full price. I declined this less than generous offer and decided to wait the remaining two weeks of my delivery window. Needless to say no further communication and no arbour after the two weeks and the reason......they didn't place the order. In the end I had to cancel my non-order and request a refund which in fairness to Dobbies they processed with exceptional speed. Their final and best offer for the inconvenience they caused was the display arbour at full price and a £50 voucher.
Totally disgusted by this experience and certainly would not recommend Dobbies to anyone I know.

Warning – Check Your Statements!

After a single purchase, Dobbies started charging my account annually without permission. When challenged, they admitted they have no contract or subscription on file for me. However, they still refused to confirm that they would stop taking my money. Unacceptable billing practices and terrible customer service. Check your bank statements!

ploughmans and cheese scones yuk

We went a week or so ago for lunch. At Boston Lincs . Had been highly recommended e was looking forwards to something special. It was steady in terms of customers. We found a table and partner decided on Ploughman’s but asked me to ask if we could swop the toasted Dobbies cheese scone for bread instead. I went to ask. I waited patiently in queue to ask and there were three others waiting to be served and the customers in front had asked a question and waiting a response. They had asked the same question to which a lady. Assumed supervisor brusquely answered not possible as affects allergies etc. I was disappointed as were the people behind me as thats what they were going to ask too. So that three customers in pairs that wanted ploughmans at that given moment. A toasted cheese scone is a strange combination for a traditional ploughmans platter. For goodness sake we are one of the largest farming counties in the country and most folk want a Bit of bread with their traditional ploughmans lunch . Resigned to our fate of missing out on a ploughman i circumvented the menu and ordered a cheese baguette and Two ploughmans and binned the scones. Admittedly it cost me more but what made my decision worse was that although I had fallen foul of the dreaded allergen excuse for not replacing scone with bread , I happened to notice on the menu, that if I had soup I could change between scone or bread. So why oh why cant you-do one and not the other. You cant use the allergens twaddle on that choice and if I say I dont have allergies then surely its my choice not yours. Ironically when our food came out the server said oh sorry wrong table as this is three meals and I explained how I had ordered an extra baguette so i could by pass the rules. Her words in response (OH WE HAVE A LOT OF RULES HERE). that said it all. Another aspect of a ploughman’s is butter. One pat for a toasted cheese scone . Get a grip. Had to ask for more for my baguette . I Don't expect a response as it seems that money is the overriding concern of Dobbies not customers satisfaction. Not recommended no revisits. Their loss

Too hot due to broken air con

I love Dobbies at Moreton Park Chirk however during this heatwave it has been impossible to visit for any length of time due to the excessive heat, in particular the upstairs cafe. There appear to be air con units fitted but none have been working for some time. Nor do the ones downstairs. I feel very sorry for the staff working in these conditions when there is a simple fix…….fix the air cons !!!!!!!!

Went to the cafe with my daughter

Went to the cafe with my daughter, granddaughter and 18 month old grandson today. We were disgusted at the state of the food they served us. The bap that came with the bacon roll was covered in mould along the bottom. The fried egg on the breakfast was hard and splattered so I asked for another egg. When the breakfast came back the fried egg was swimming in the fat that it had been fried in. By this time the Manager came to apologise and brought out a new bacon bap and a new plate of the fried breakfast and said he would waver the bill. By this time we couldn’t eat any of the food because we had been well put off! As we were leaving one of the staff asked us if we were going to pay for the food! I’m glad my daughter responded to her politely that the Manager had wavered the bill I don’t think I would have been so kind. We normally go there every week but will never ever go back and eat there again. Absolutely atrocious!!!

Appalling working conditions

Dobbies Oswestry was still open with no air working conditioning on the hottest day of the decade. Hardly any customers in there, due to suffocating heat. It is scandalous that you expect your staff to work in such intolerable
temperatures, when no doubt your executives are sat in their air
conditione offices.

I visited to do some shopping today

I visited to do some shopping today. although shop was very quiet about 4 p.m.I am the only customer at till section. The till staff was rather rude and did not say Hello or Thanks. The goods in that shop are pretty good but not till staff. Specially middle aged ones. I think they need good customer servis training.
