My engagement ring lost a stone after 18 months, took it to their Silverburn store for the member of staff to be exceptionally rude to me and record it was older than it was. It was sent away to be assessed but have just been told how much the repair was from the in house repair assessment when its clearly a manufacturing fault. I contacted customer care via email who have been full of miss promises and inaccurate information. Now they are not responding to my emails. All i wanted was my beautiful ring fixed not this complete lack of customer care. 2 weeks since they replied to my emails so will be taking this matter further. Happy to take your money but not willing to communicate with their ‘valued’ customers.

Poor experience, poor sizing, poor attitude!!
My first experience with Ernest Jones was at the Ayr branch, where I went to have links removed from two watches. I was quoted £20 per link, which felt excessive. I went elsewhere and had the same work done for £7, so this immediately left a poor impression.
Because of this, I was surprised when my partner later chose Ernest Jones to purchase my engagement ring, this time from the Silverburn store. While the ring itself was beautiful, it was unfortunately too big.
We returned to the store to have it resized and I was measured using their sizing apparatus. The size felt perfect at the time, but when the ring was delivered back to me, it was still too large.
When I returned again, the experience was extremely disappointing. The attitude I received was appalling. I was told that I “need to take responsibility for my own ring size,” despite the fact that I had relied entirely on their sizing equipment and advice. I tried the sizing rings again and opted for a slightly tighter fit, knowing the previous resize had come back larger than expected. I was then told “it’s too tight” and warned that “if it doesn’t fit this time, I won’t be changing it again.”
At that point, I asked for a refund and took my business elsewhere. While the assistant manager was genuinely lovely and helpful, the same unfortunately cannot be said for the store manager. I left the shop feeling like a chastised schoolgirl rather than a valued customer.
I certainly won’t be returning, and I would advise others to proceed with caution when using this particular store.

AVOID Ernest Jones Silverburn…
Went to store Ernest Jones Silverburn store on Saturday 17th August 2024 and was upsold an engagement ring, from the one we originally were looking at in the window selection. Paid £2,000 and given the receipt which we picked up that is said expected delivery date was 27/11/24, which we queried and were told that was worst case scenario coming from warehouse and we would most likely get the ring before then. Time passed, nothing from Ernest Jones at all. Went into Silverburn store on Friday 29th November, 2 days past the expected delivery date, to be told that we should not have come in as the ring was not there. After a lot of back and forth, from our end as the customer service in the store is appalling and non-existent, we were fobbed off with the ring was being made to order (never once were we told this) and that the warehouse were having to locate the ring from another warehouse. We were told by the store that we could not cancel the ring as they needed an ETA from the warehouse before we could cancel. Called customer service as they said the same thing. Lots of us calling customer service to be told they did not know how long the ring would take as they were going to have to make a new ring. We received a voicemail from the store to say the ring was going to be available that week, this was December time, however this ring never materialised. Another call to customer service to say that no date could be given for when the ring would be available, but they said the store should never have given us that information. Fast forward to January, we got a call to say the ring was ready but by this time the store and the company were told the ring was going to be a stock order as we no longer wanted the ring. Cancelled the payment of the ring from the credit card company and Ernest Jones challenged this TWICE. Had to call Ernest Jones again on 29 January 2025 as they challenged credit card refund again only to be told that the ring was never cancelled, despite us saying from end of November we no longer wanted the ring as they were not fulfilling their end of the deal. Turned our joyful engagement ring shopping experience into a complete nightmare and would I deter anyone from purchasing from Ernest Jones. Worst service ever. Bought my ring from another jewellers hassle free and had the beautiful ring from them within days. AVOID THIS STORE

DO NOT BUY ONLINE FROM ERNEST JONES They use the cheapest unreliable couriers DXExcel who did not leave a card (despite saying they did, also, I was home waiting on the parcel, so could not have missed them (I have had similar from other vendors using this courier). Ernest Jones, by using this unreliable courier for my delivery on 12/05/23 15.05-17.05 you left me with no gift for my 18-year-old daughter's birthday. (The next delivery date is after her birthday) and my assumption of you being unable to help as the package is still in transit leaves me to give a disappointing message to give. Would you care to explain the decision process of using DXExcel, after the rotten reviews they have had online. I would like to discuss this and hear the explanation. I am off to find other forums to warn of this poor service. Again to reiterate-DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ERNEST JONES online! Mark

After buying my wife an experience luxury watch for Christmas (which she already had, I know I'm an idiot lol), I returned to the store today to exchange for another of the same brand. Absolute hassle free, and even price matched where it was advertised cheaper elsewhere.
To the store manager - thank you for being so friendly and understanding.and saving my Xmas! This is why it's always best to shop in store…...and this is why I shop with Ernest Jones time and time again.

Very helpful and welcoming staff.went above and beyond to help me find the perfect ring. Only downside was the presentation box that my ring came in was no longer available when I came back to store to pick the ring up so must of gave it to someone else.
