Let Down by Quality and Service
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Ernest Jones.
I received a necklace as a gift which developed a fault within just a few months of normal wear. One of the links broke, and I only became aware of the issue as it started catching on my clothing. There was no incident where it was pulled or damaged, this happened during everyday use, which I would not expect from a product of this type or price.
When I returned the item to the Ernest Jones Buchanan Galleries store, the experience was very poor. Staff were rude and immediately implied that I had caused the damage, with no apology or willingness to properly consider my explanation.
After inspection, I was told the chain “appears to have been caught and pulled” due to hair or fibres found in the link, and was asked to pay for a repair. I do not accept this, as hair or clothing catching is entirely normal for a necklace, especially if a link has already weakened or failed.
Instead of taking responsibility, I was offered only a partial refund, which does not reflect the situation or the quality expected from their products.
Overall, I feel let down both by the quality of the item and the way this issue has been handled. I would not recommend based on this experience.
Update: Following escalation, Ernest Jones has now agreed to issue a full refund. While I appreciate the resolution, the process to reach this outcome was frustrating.

Manager is awful, very poor customer service
Bought earrings after only a week or so I lost one due to faulty closure, after an online chat I was advised they would be under warranty and to return them. Returned to store and the 'manager' Stephen wouldn't even speak to me directly. He was rude and dismissive, insinuated I was 'heavy handed' with the earings causing the fault and nothing could be done, despite me having the other earring, still in the box which was also faulty! Will not be back and would not recommend this store or their own brand products

Manger stephen terrible
Went in to order a watch for my wife for Christmas.I went in on the friday and I was told buy a very nice young girl who went out her to way to find out if they had any off these watches. the only place that had them was newcastle which the girl then told me we will get a delivery on tuesday and Wednesday.and the watch will be here i called into the shop today where I take it I was spoken to bye stephen who was very abrut and said the watch isn't here and we cant guarantee that. he then said I was standing with the girl when she told me she cant guarantee it will be here. eh I must be blind because when I came in the shop it was me and only a young girl in my presence only and if that was the case I would have said forget it to close to Christmas I will go else where
so stephen I dont appreciate you lieing and I hope people will agree with this review why would I wait if not guaranteed doesn't make any sense and if you can do this what are you teaching your staff
totally unacceptable behaviour stephen aka mange I have reported this aswell I will give a follow up once resolved

Super easy to use and the promotion…

Myself and my fiance were in to have a…
Myself and my fiance were in to have a look at wedding rings and a nice lady Lucy looked after us and ordered rings in for us to try and told us to come in when they had the rings in store.
I get a phone call from the manager saying the courier had misplaced the rings so we would get a 10% discount on our rings when we bought them for inconvenience on top of our 20% discount we already had.
We then get a call saying that was the rings back in store we can go in and try them on so that's what we did and my fiances ring wasn't there so to begin with he was giving the wrong size and wrong ring so they were going to order it in for him I tried mine on but the size was wrong so needed a size up so they said they could order it for us and we can come back in and try them on when the rings were in store but the girl Mia was putting a lot of pressure on my fiance about his ring and what size he should have but Lucy had already told him what size he was and then we were told the order will be in within the next 7 days, they said they would get us at the till but we thought it was for the order and they put pressure on us and ended up making us feel like we had to buy the rings which wasn't the plan and both girls were talking to us both at the same Olivia and Mia were both dealing with us and we don't like that one is enough nothing was explained right and we also think both girls were snakey about what they were doing we paid and thought wait a minute thats to much money and the girls only gave us one discount aswell but was meant to be both discounts repair was done as well and we couldn't quiet understand it.
So we discussed it and chose to speak to the manager Steven so that's what we did today and he calls himself a manager, needs lesson on what a manager does, hasn't resolved anything stuck for both girls made out we were to blame and basically thinks his staff are reliable and honest but they aren't he hasn't sorted anything he should have dealt with our complaint properly but didn't he was rude and very arrogant towards to us and looked as if he didn't want to be there either never listened to anything we had to say.
So we ended up phoning customer services and getting help from them they are dealing with our complaint and we are getting our refund and will never be back in there again.

Poor quality goods and service
Purchased three 9ct gold bracelets for my daughters in December for Christmas presents. The bracelets cost £424 each but were reduced to £325 in sale. Bracelets looked great but after wearing a few times one of the bracelets kept opening and falling off. As my daughter lives abroad I was unable to return the bracelet to the Glasgow store immediately.
Yesterday the 16 March I returned the faulty bracelet to the Buchanan Street store. I was horrified when I was told the bracelet showed signs of wear and tear. I explained my daughter had only worn it a few times as it was faulty. I was informed the bracelet would be returned to the manufacturer who would decide if it was a manufacturers fault or whether it was caused by wear and tear. If it was the later I would be advised of cost for fixing. This decision process should take about 10 days.
I am horrified that a 9ct gold bracelet might only be expected to last less than 3 months. This tells you what they themselves think of the quality of their goods. My daughter is a school teacher, she does not work in an industry where jewellery might be easily damaged.
Please think twice before buying goods from this Jewellers. Imagine if this had been an expensive engagement ring and you were left with the expense of replacing a diamond due to 3 months of wear and tear.

Ernest Jones store inBuchanan Galleries, Glasgow
I visited the Glasgow, Buchanan Galleries store to find out if they could get a watch I'd seen on line into their stock to allow me to try the watch on before purchase. This was a luxury watch and was a big purchase for me. The watch had to be couriered from one of their stores down south. The entire process went very smoothly and the store staff rang me to let me know when it arrived in Glasgow, I visited and tried it on and bought the watch. Special mention to Frankie Rouse the store manager for her asssitance, adjusting the links on the strap etc, and for Sarah Jane who was so helpful during the process. Well done ladies, you are a credit to Ernest Jones, keep up the good work!
Excellent service
Excellent service. Called and enquired about the rings I wanted to view. Megan arranged for the rings to be brought to the store I was visiting then arranged for it to be sized up and sent to my home address. Delighted with my purchase
