Ernest Jones - Thurrock Reviews 

I purchased a diamond ring from Ernest Jones on July 2024, and within just ONE MONTH, the diamond fell out on August. I take great care of my jewellery, never had such a worst experience of diamond falling off , so it's baffling how something like this could happen so quick . I expected better quality from such a well-known brand.Anyway ,since the ring was under warrenty period , the store replaced the ring so it was fine but the entire experience has been incredibly frustrating, and I would advise others to be cautious and check the item carefully before purchasing .

My husband brought a Vera Wang Eternity ring for me 2 month later the stone fell out. Got a new ring and 6 months later the stone fell out. Not heard for 3 weeks contacted customer services who referred me back to the store. Shocking. Still waiting 5o hear. Lakeside store

I went into the Lakeside store today as I got recently engaged and a stone fell out of my ring not having had it more than 4 months.

As soon as i entered the store the diamond specialist was unhelpful and had a look at my ring and straight away assumed that I damaged the ring myself without offering to send it away to get it assessed. The accusing of causing the damage myself to my own engagement ring does not sit right with me. I received no sympathy or help from this branch and I would recommend not to shop here as there is no care for customers who come in with concerns. As you can imagine a stone falling out of your ring is already disheartening but to be treated like I did the damage myself is something that does not sit right with me

Having a look at all the other reviews it seems to be a common thing where they blame customers for damaging the ring themselves. Horrible experience. I recommend not shopping here as it seems the goal is to give people faulty rings then blame them and charge them extra for repairs.

Website is great, good job. Keep it up. Returns are easy and quick, staff at EJ, Lakeside are very professional. Brilliant.

My Wife and I went into Ernest Jones at Lakeside and were given a warm welcome. I wanted to purchase a Breitling watch and was served by Vicky. Vicky was very helpful, no pressure and had great product knowledge. I purchased the watch one because it was a nice watch and two because of Vicky's help. She is a credit to Ernest Jones and a very nice Lady. Also Linda came over and was also very helpful. The next time I need jewellery I shall go there. I purchased a £900 diamond ring from Ernest Jones, within 6 months one of the diamonds fell out. It was repaired under warranty. A year later the stone fell out again and Ernest Jones have refused to replace or repair the ring unless I pay further money despite them selling me a poor quality clearly faulty ring. Disgusting quality. Disgusting service. Will never use them again or recommend.

Safe to say we won’t be buying anything from this store in the future. The staff is extremely keen to help you with a purchase when they know you are about to spend big money and their commission will be high, but not when you go with a problem. The lady at Lakeside , so called “ diamond specialist” didn’t even look properly at my ring before saying and I quote “ this is something we have to pay for ourselves and the wait time is around 6 to 8 weeks and more likely even more “ and just left me standing. On your website there’s the 10 year craftsmanship warranty, who determines if it’s that or not?
I wasn’t even asked if I have the platinum cover insurance on the ring.
It was the quickest in and out visit to a jewelry shop ever. And to think we bought my wedding band and eternity band from them too! That’s a lot of money without the warranty they will last you a lifetime.
We drove straight to a local jewelry shop , in 5 minutes I got a diagnose of what actually happened , with someone properly looking at the ring under special lights , I’ve been told the gold wore out in corners and the stone came lose. And the same thing is about to happen with another one on the other side of the ring . And that it’s a common problem with cluster stone rings , very pretty and sparkly but because they are missing the 4 claws to actually hold each diamond and they are simply imbedded in the gold , they are not very secure to hold the diamonds and over time these things will happen. I’ve been quoted a price that was almost half the price of Ernest jones , and a much shorter time frame. Who wants to be 2 months without their engagement ring? The lady at Ernest jones told me it will
Most likely take even more than 8 weeks and shook her head. That’s just insane. My advice? If you’ve got a problem don’t bother going to them. Go to your local jewelry store. Just because they are a big shiny store in a shopping mall it doesn’t mean you will get 5 stars help and advice every time you walk through their door.
My husband tried a couple of Breitling watches a while ago and safe to say he won’t purchase it from them.

I visited Ernest Jones Branch at Lakeside a couple of times now. I find the staff to be warm, polite, welcoming and above all helpful in explaining things and assisting me as a customer to understand a product I will be thinking to buy. I really enjoyed my shopping trip and was treated with respect and made my purchase without pressure or coercion. Will be coming back soon

Excellent service- given plenty of time to try rings on for our wedding! Helpful even when I changed my mind as I had found a better ring I liked.

The person serving was very helpful and patient considering I wasn’t sure which ring I wanted. The whole experience was amazing and I highly recommend them to others.

Jamie was so welcoming (as were the ladies) and he was very knowledgeable with the brand that I wanted to buy, even after going away to think about my options and returning a little while later. I was very impressed with the service we received, even down to explaining about registering the warranty and setting the correct time and polishing the watch.
I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from Ernest Jones again!
