so here's my experience...
so here's my experience...
a representative comes to my house a few times...very pleasant/amiable...seems competently knowledgeable. on the second visit she leaves me with hearing aids to try out. i believe they were signas?
they were ok. 1500e each. not a great improvement. but i might have went with them...
on the 3rd day i go to the app that the rep set me up with on my phone to make adjustments...i discover that there are limited available adjustments unLESS i wish to upgrade the app...and get this...i will be charged 15e a WEEK for this...
and that was that, as far as dealing with this company. i had TOLD the rep i was tired of it seeming as if people couldn't wait to put their hand in my pocket to remove some amount of money...and yet she seemingly overlooked explaining this about the app. it might have just slipped her mind but then that amounts to an important oversight. one that would have saved everyone the inconveniences involved in my returning the apparatus...
i'm sure the company will respond with some polite dribble. they ARE polite.
but i also want to say...almost all the quality hearing aids seem overpriced considering the tech. these hearing aids aren't far removed, tech-wise from musical ear buds...mine are pretty good and they only cost 70e. for the pair. the pair of hearing aids i was looking at are three THOUsand euros. are they going to try to say that the tech is 40+ times more sophisticated...? i would hope not. i know for CERtain it isn't. and then, again, there's a matter of the extra 60e month for the app that SHOULD come WITH the hearing aid purchase...
what an industry. i would think in the NL that the government would regulate it better...but maybe i'm just being naive...
in any case, i just wanted to give prospective purchasers a warning as to what to expect.
and btw, basic health insurance won't pay a penny for decent hearing aids...
