Teaching the children was definitely one of my favourite parts because it was so rewarding to be able to help them learn while also having fun with them. It was amazing to see how enthusiastic they were and how excited they were to take part in the activities and lessons we planned. Even though we were only there for a short amount of time, we were able to build relationships with the children and make some really special memories with them. The volunteering also gave me a completely different perspective and made me appreciate how important it is to give your time to help other people. It was really nice to feel like I was doing something worthwhile rather than just being on holiday. I loved being able to interact with the children, support them with their learning and see their confidence grow. There were definitely moments that were challenging, but they made the experience even more rewarding because we had to adapt, be patient and work together. I came away from the volunteering feeling like I had learnt just as much from the children as they had learnt from us, and it was an experience I will never forget.

Good volunteer experience. Thrown in the deep end maybe a little too much, would be great to have mode guidance but on the otherhand, it gave us a real immersive experience with the kids.
Had the best time, so well looked after including god accomadation and great food. Loved meeting new people, working with the elephants and learning so much. Would definitely go back!

It was a very good opportunity to teach English abroad. I enjoyed it a lot although there was very little guidance prior to volunteering and we were left with a class for the full week to teach them independently without assistance (this was good for us but may want to keep that in mind)
It was quite unstructured. I was kind of thrown in to it but it was lovely to be involved in their culture and everyday routine. It taught me a lot, and I had fun.
Amazing time, amazing people and amazing actions. Thanks to WFFT and PMGY I got to see places of the world I could have only imagined.
Volunteering in Thailand was such a wonderful experience! I loved teaching the kids, and I also learned a lot about myself during that week.
I have just had the most amazing month completing the Real Thailand Experience- truly one of the best experiences of my life! I felt well prepared by PMGY thanks to the pre-departure webinars and volunteer handbook, and members of the team were fast to respond and very helpful. Once I arrived in Thailand, I felt very supported from the beginning thanks to the amazing in-country team: Darryl and Sopida were absolutely brilliant, advising us on the best spots to go to and helping organise all of the incredible trips and volunteering we did. I would definitely book another trip with PMGY in the future!

The volunteering is an eye opening and rewarding experience. The children are beautiful and it is such a wonderful week. I wish I could have done longer. Definitely recommend.
A totally unforgettable experience!
Volunteering at this elephant sanctuary (WFFT) was the most amazing experience. They are one of the few actually ethical sanctuaries and have a hands off approach. The work can be quite tiring at times, but it is so worth it!!
Being there for the elephants, each with its own heartbreaking story of abuse and exploitation, was a deeply moving experience. From elephants rescued from harsh labor camps to those saved from the cruelty of tourism, witnessing their recovery in the safe and nurturing environment of WFFT was both inspiring and humbling. The foundation provides these gentle giants with a second chance at life—a space where they can roam freely, receive proper care, and, most importantly, feel loved and respected. Knowing that my efforts contributed to their well-being made this experience profoundly meaningful.
