I felt compelled to write about the level of customer service I received, specifically from a gentleman named Tyron at Safestore Clapham, as it was second to none.
I moved my items into storage at the last minute, which meant I was rushed and stressed, but Tyron truly eased that stress. While at the location, I found a cheaper quote online at a different branch. At first, it was a little difficult to match; however, Tyron immediately stepped in—not only matching the price but actually making it cheaper.
Once he realised I had a moving van outside that I was paying for by the hour, he dropped everything and made the process as quick as possible. For instance, he allowed me to complete certain steps after my belongings were moved in, rather than keeping the movers waiting.
I’ve used storage services in the past and, without a doubt, I’ve never come across anyone as efficient and well-mannered as Tyron. He has excellent common sense, works at a very fast pace, and takes real initiative. When it came to paperwork, he quickly understood my situation and immediately identified what needed to be signed before moving in and what could wait until afterwards.
He is also an absolute gentleman. I couldn’t recommend this storage facility highly enough.

A word of warning to potential customers of Safestore.
Last weekend I booked a unit for 4 weeks and paid in full, not a deposit, in full. I could, perhaps, be forgiven for assuming, silly me, that my storage unit would be available to use from the date on the booking.
So imagine my surprise to arrive today to discover that not only had my unit been given away, but there there were no other units available. I thought this only happened with dodgy car rentals and shady hotels on holiday, not with a nationwide company that has a good trust pilot score.
Oh but we tried to call you, your employee said. You may have done, but I had no answer phone message, no text and no email to warm me that I was about to forfeit something I had already paid for in full, simply because I hadn’t turned up on the day I said I would. No doubt this is included in your T&Cs but for something as fundamental as ‘not delivering what you said you would, even after payment’ could I suggest that you put it in bold in your confirmation email on booking?
Moving house is stressful enough without arriving at a safe store to discover there there’s no, umm, store. Safe or otherwise.
Seems an odd way to build a loyal customer base. A storage unit is a storage unit really, isn’t it, so after price and location have been taken account of, you can only really differentiate yourself on customer service and customer experience, both of which you’ve scored nul point on today.
Disappointing, frustrating, and unnecessary.
Your Clapham staff found me a different location, which was nice of them and also the bare minimum they could have done, but given it is a less convenient location and means this job eats another day of my weekend, I’m an unhappy customer.

Very efficient customer service
Prompt to answer all my questions. Very polite and patient when i had to think about some of the question.
The only issue I had (in a previous experience) was the number of calls I received. I had done a quote very in advance and did not want to deal with that at the time.
I was super super busy. I just felt a bit forceful to keep calling and leave messages. I'm guessing it's a policy and it works to get hesitant customers. In my case that was almost repellent at the time.
