Safestore - Colchester Reviews 

I have used Safestore Colchester several times for sending DHL parcels, and the service has always been excellent. The lady working there (I wish I had noted her name) is incredibly welcoming, friendly and professional, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make every visit a positive experience. Nothing ever seems too much trouble, and you're always greeted with a smile. It's refreshing to receive such consistently high standards of customer service these days. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Safestore Colchester. It is clearly backed by a fantastic team.

Cannot fault the DHL service I had at safestore today. I’d had problems at another DHL point and the lady (apologies I can’t remember her name) took it all on board uncomplicated what had appeared to be complicated and helped me so much. Can’t praise her enough.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Safestore Colchester, especially given their stated value of being people-focused and acting with integrity.

After going through a genuinely difficult personal situation, I tried to communicate openly with the team. Unfortunately, I felt completely ignored and dismissed because I wasn’t able to make an immediate payment. Rather than showing understanding or attempting to resolve the situation constructively, the matter was escalated to a collections company without any clear notice or further communication.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating and has left me feeling very let down. While the company promotes a respectful and inclusive culture, my experience suggests otherwise. It has made me seriously question what kind of business they truly are beneath the surface.

I hope Safestore reflects on how situations like this are handled, because customers facing hardship deserve empathy and communication—not silence and escalation.

I initially asked for a couple of quotes and liked the prices. Christmas Eve I got in contact with Jo who answered all my questions. I went down and was signed up in minutes. She arranged a lovely lock up room for me.

We rent office space from SafeStore in Colchester. We were a new business who was based at the owners house till March 2024 where we were searching for office space in the local area. We are fortunate that the Local Safestore also has purpose built office accommodation to rent at very reasonable prices. We arranged a visit with Nick the Branch Manager and signed contracts the week after. We are currently into 6 months in our great office. Both Nick & Jo his deputy are a great advert for advert for Safestore as a business. They are only too happy to assist when it's needed. The rest of the team at Colchester are just brilliant too.

Highly recommend the office spaces they offer at Colchester.

I had a relatively small enquiry and purchase yet the staff (in particular Jazz) could not have been more pleasant and helpful. A pleasure to do business with and I’d highly recommend them.

I think this is the 4th or 5th i have used this Safestore, and each time the staff have been friendly and very helpful.

I went into Safestore in Colchester on 04.09.23 feeling quite nervous and anxious. Was seen immediately by Jo who immediately made me and my mum feel so at ease. She was absolutely fabulous, amazing and so helpful. Her Communication skills were outstanding. SHE REALLY IS PHENOMENAL and such an asset to your team.

The Colchester team were all incredibly helpful, friendly and professional.

We rented 2 units, all the Colchester team were very helpful and professional throughout the rental period, thoroughly reommended.

Price increase of over 300% in 3 years!
I rented a 75sqft unit for 3 years and every year there was a price increase of over £100 per month.
In the end I shopped around and found more than one local place that was at least 50% cheaper.
I was told that the prices was due to 'supply and demand' and was the average price in the area, I found that not to be true.
Aside from the high cost, the units were clean, access was good and the staff helpful.
Definitely shop around when looking for long term storage.

The guys at the store in highwoods were absolutely amazing. Especially Jo who was kind enough to help me with all my concerns and queries up till the end of my contract. They will definitely be seeing me again.
