I have been with Redhill for around 3 years. I called in January to discuss their charges and was told that had I called them each year, they would have reduced them, so expected ME to call them, rather than just increasing them by a sensible rate. I then agreed to a reduced cost but they refused to refund my overpayments (around £1,000). To my annoyance, they have just invoiced me, but ignored the agreed reduction and are now hiding behind voicemails etc. I will be moving to a reputable business and saving around 80% ongoing. REALLY unimpressed but it is a great facility let down by sharp practices

Upon opening my storage, I had been charged £560. Regardless, I called these thieves multiple times to confirm the amount. I had to go for a beef with some poor man at reception to refund, but the answer: I didn't ask for it? Are you out of your minds? Literally being ripped off, but should I have had to cancel the man and the van and all the shit show? Its a joke. Also, opening hours are ridiculous, I have stored my entire life with these somethings (I don't want to use a vulgar language). They simply told me that if I want the money back will be refunded a week later, if really want it I can come in personally. OUCH! 21st century, you ruined my weekend and I hope customers realise you are the worst.

Disgraceful customer service. On the website it is says first month £1 or 50% off for first 8 weeks. These crooks wanted to rob me. And just offered me 50% off. I wanted for 1 month offer of £1. Never trust these crooks.

I had a very frustrating experience with this self-storage facility. I was assured by a staff member that they had put a note on my account for my move-out date, which was exactly one month’s notice as required. I trusted them to follow through, but when I moved out, I was informed there was no record of the notice. As a result, I was charged for an additional two weeks, even though I had already vacated the unit and paid for two extra weeks that I didn’t need.
When I tried to resolve the issue, customer service redirected me to the store, where the store manager claimed I hadn’t given any notice, which is simply not true. The staff told me they would handle it, but apparently, face-to-face verbal notice "doesn't count," even though I was told otherwise. The manager refused to credit my account, leaving me with an unnecessary charge that could have covered a week of groceries.
I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and communication, and I feel like my trust was completely misplaced. This has left a very bad impression, and I would not recommend this facility based on my experience.

Incompetent doesn’t begin to describe it. I stored with this place for a while and it was a shambolic experience from start to finish: unreliable advice given when the booking was made so when the movers arrived they couldn’t do their job, unresponsive - emails were not answered, mismatch between invoice and what was actually owed, wrong charges for insurance, one of the only two lifts in the facility not working for the duration of my time there, despite being told it would be fixed next week, and the list goes on …
I communicated with James the store manger and Sabrina and found them both to be unhelpful and unprofessional.
Worst of all, on the day of the move out the mover noticed what seemed like rodent droppings. I reported it but never heard back.
There are other good storages around, this place doesn’t deserve your business.

Had a bad experience with these companies they have poor communication skills and make a stressful situation worse. Ended up costing me thousands of pounds in delays of missing deadline's and them not being understanding of my needs.
Just want to get stuff in but they delay you further. A guy put the phone down on me when I told him I couldn't talk as I was using the WC. They call you in the early hours like 8AM after you reserve online they don't give you the deal that is quoted to you. And they bombard you with calls everyday as if to turn you insane. Finally ended up using my car as a storage solution not the beat idea but had no choice.

I thought SafeStore was ok when I first used them in 2016. But how things can change! The staff there are not the same people who where there in 2016, apart from one new Asian guy, all I can say they have to be some of the most disgusting human beings I ever seen in my life. As someone who battles with mental health, depression and being suicidal I find it hard to go to this place. When I was dying in hospital and in a diabetic coma my landlord without my permission put my stuff into SafeStore. Couldn’t even get my own stuff from storage without my landlord’s permission. So if you steal people’s stuff and put it in SafeStore, as long as your paying for the unit and it’s in your name you can keep people’s stolen stuff in a SafeStore unit without no problem. And there’s a Greek women or I think she’s a Polish women who works there. I think she’s either racist or just an ignorant disgusting human being. If your fat and ugly, don’t come to this place unless you want to hear staff make jokes about how your fat and ugly even though you could be spending £1000 here.
Sent someone recently to collect something for me they put a double padlock on the unit and said something about late payment when I pay by direct debit. Also because I wasn’t allowed to take my stuff out to put into my own storage, the landlord send people to dump my stuff in my unit. I can’t find all my stuff and now I have to pay a higher rate what I can’t afford now and I’m feeling suicidal.
Don’t know if I should get some legal help. My not be around to do it😡

We wrote to Safestore Via standard mail which was sent recorded delivery dated the 11th December. Each one of our suppliers received the letter and acted upon our instruction to change our banking details for the purposes of Direct debits. We also have been to your store on numerous occasions and checked the DD details you held on file, Yet Yesterday your store called us again suggesting that we are again in arrears. Could you please look into this further, We know that we are acting in good faith and have consistently given the correct bank details yet you still advise us that we are in arrears.
We will be taking this matter further as it appears that you are still not taking the monies from our account as requested back in December despite us consistently notifying of our new DD details
Please could you let me have your complaints and escalation procedure, so we can follow it to the letter

The Brent Cross store is not trustworthy. The manager Mitesh and his team always delays invoice generation and hoards extra charges of payment. The team tortures you and puts locks on the locker. Do not go this place, its a pain.

Frustration and disappointment at the latest price increase, which seems to be imposed on loyal long-term customers without consideration of their personal circumstances, in our case both financial (end of furlough) and health concerns (long term effects of Covid).
We benefited from a good introductory offer in our first year (2018) and accepted the 2019 increase as the initial offer ended and we did understand that you must pass on a portion of your own increase in costs to your customers; however, the 2020 price increase was unjustifiably high and a price review at the time resulted in a 'computer says no' situation...even the 12 month pre-paid discount of 2.5% was no longer offered!
The same thing happened in 2021: the increase was even higher (almost 30%); added to that the communication between me and the store became very poor with my calls and emails not being replied to and/or ignored (the manager Joe did apologize in the end). I finally managed to get a price review, which again resulted in a 'computer says no' answer from your pricing team: "Your new rate even with the increase is lower than our basic rate and due to availability and the current market we cannot lower this further."
There seems to be a complete disconnect between each store and the pricing team at head office and it is regrettable that they don't have some leeway to assess each price increase in view of each customer's personal circumstances.
We are left in a very awkward position: we are looking at various options to reduce the cost, but nothing is possible immediately... even a smaller unit in your store is more expensive than our present one!
All very regrettable.
