I bought this jacket because it's made in gray and it's one of the less-expensive offerings. The material is very soft and doesn't seem like it should be waterproof, but it has a coating on the inside that must make it waterproof. It is not a slick material - it's more of a softshell fabric. I'd rather it was made with a normal zipper instead of the inside-out style. I cut off the stiff plastic zipper pull tabs because they randomly poked outwards. I don't like it as much as my Cabela's rain jackets.
