Initial strategy meeting - separation
This was my first experience of consulting a solicitor. I was scheduled a meeting with Brooke Rimmer, and she was brilliant from the outset. She actively listened to my concerns and was really responsive to adapt the consultation to my needs. Following the strategy meeting I felt much more informed with really clear and thorough advice on my legal options if I were to need to take action.
It was clear that she was the right person to speak with for my needs and was just generally a very nice person to speak with. I can’t recommend her more highly.

Very disappointing experience – lack of transparency, poor communication, and serious compliance concerns
Throughout my case, communication was inconsistent and slow, even at critical stages following a court hearing. I was left without updates for days, despite repeated chasers, while being asked to make urgent same-day payments. This imbalance caused significant anxiety and financial strain.
Billing lacked transparency. I repeatedly requested a clear, item-by-item explanation of charges, as invoices were difficult to reconcile and did not flow clearly from one to the next. Some charges were later acknowledged internally as having been applied incorrectly and were refunded only after a formal complaint.
Most concerning was a data protection breach, where I was mistakenly sent another client’s confidential Form E and financial documents. This raised serious concerns about how client data is handled and whether my own information was adequately safeguarded.
I also felt unsupported at key procedural moments. Important court documents were lodged without prior discussion, and advice was often unclear or provided too late to be helpful. As a client, I frequently had to piece things together myself rather than being guided proactively.
While individual staff were polite, the overall service fell far below what I would expect from a specialist family law firm, particularly given the level of fees charged and the vulnerability of clients in family proceedings.
I would strongly urge anyone considering this firm to ask very detailed questions about communication, billing transparency, and data handling before instructing them.
