Their portal is fully automated so when a problem arises, there is no one to help waiting on the phone for hours to talk to someone who never comes.

Great first impressions!
The process to begin renting a storage unit and have immediate move in was seamless and super easy! From the time I got to the website to the time I was approved and able to begin moving in only took about 15 minutes online! When we arrived, it was easy to access and begin loading our belongings into the unit. The buildings are well kept up with and all facilities were very clean!

Lack of security
Check in process was fairly easy, you are dealing with a customer service center, not anyone on site. We actually never talked to / saw anyone on site. We kept an enclosed trailer there for around 7 months. In mid-December, it was there but 3 weeks later someone had stolen it. The trailer was heavily padlocked so someone would have had to taken the time to cut through the locks. We spoke with another renter who was often there and he said the back gates had been open for weeks. We attempted to contact the site owners via phone and email with no luck. Would not recommend the Winston Salem Indiana road facility nor any of the other Fed Storage facilities in case lack of security is a common practice.

We apologize for the inconveniences you may have experienced. We work as fast as possible to get the gates up and running when a gate goes down. Unfortunately, the vendor had to order a gate part that took longer than expected to arrive, and we repaired it once said part came.
We can assure you that 10 Federal Self Storage works with all local authorities and detectives to provide anything the authorities need. We understand that crime has no address, but we fully cooperate with authorities to ensure our tenants and their belongings are safe.

Storage Rate Charged

I rent a storage unit here that was processed on line for
155.00. Did not realize this was an introductory rate that
increased in December to 199.00. I could not believe this
and contacted the facility to see if they could do
anything. Since I had just move in they did allow me to
pay the 155.00 for the month of December. I was told
that the manager should have gone over the lease and
explained that I could have locked in the initial rate for
one month to a year and because it had already been
processed for 2022 that their was nothing they could do.
I would have gladly locked in and paid up front for 6
months to a year at the initial rate. The manager that
processed my lease is no longer there of course so no
way to get an explanation from him. Just got everything
in during the month of December and now have to figure
out how to move things out again. I should have been
given a chance to lock the initial rate in.
A good paying customer taken advantage of after everything is moved in.

It’s a very easy process to get started…
It’s a very easy process to get started with the purchasing process of the units. Simple and easy while typing on a giant table style screen. After getting into my unit, it was very clean and the accommodation of a light and a power outlet in the unit are a great plus! I’m very happy with this rental and look forward to doing more business with this location.

Amazing fast service
It was fast, easy to reserve a unit. Even easier to move in.
I had a leak issue with first unit but was resolved within 20 minutes of calling. And moved into another unit closeby 🙂

The outdoor space was parrallel…
The outdoor space was parrallel parking, if there were a vehicle in the spot in front of our spot, we would have never gotten in. We are concerned that we won't be able to get it out when we need to. Also the driveway was not wide enough to pull around the building pulling a travel trailer.
