Bad company doesn't pay deposit back

We rented a BMW back in March where we paid a deposit of 500 euro. We have been mailing since back in March, but they keep on avoiding paying the money back. This is such a bad company, i don't hope anybody wants to rent a car after reading my review!!

Deposit of EUR 400 not refunded after 3 months

I booked a car with Solauto.cc; afterwards 1rentacar handled everything. When picking-up the car I was asked to pay a deposit of EUR 400 through a separate credit card payment. The car was returned to Malaga airport on 07/04/2018, as foreseen. The conditions state that the deposit will be refunded on the same day the car is returned. Almost three months later, I have not been refunded yet. I have sent numerous e-mails. Lately, they have stopped replying.
1rentacar seems to follow this website so I hope for a reaction and action.

Takes forever to get your deposit back

Takes forever to get your deposit back. In my case, happened after 3 months of calls, numerous e-mails and notice to go to a court to get money back.
NEVER use this company - better pay a bit more to a larger more customer friendly firms.

1rentacar doesnt pay your deposit back. I have writen about 40 emails, and send all my bank information twice with no luck. They have said 10 times that I will get my deposit back, but they are waiting for the "account department", to make the transfer. Normally a foreign transfer take about 4-5 business days, but I have waited since 2. march 2018.

TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY and book a car from one of the big companies instead!

Hope to save you from wasting time and money from this corrupt company..

I will never use this company again

I will never use this company again. It’s been over a month since I returned the car and they haven’t returned the euro 600 deposit (despite the terms and conditions provide that they will do it within 5 days). I emailed them a number of times but they stopped replying. Looking at posts of other people I suspect that this company does not return deposits intentionally. Has anybody contacted the police or launched a legal action against 1rentacar?

Mr. Lesinski, you have already received your money, 28 days after returning the car. We received two traffic tickets that we had to appeal on his behalf. We also know this has been explained by the hotel. We have not charged anything for having recourse to your traffic fines but we could not return the deposit until the fines were admitted for processing, I hope you understand that this is not our fault. We only take the deposit to the new clients, since we do not know them and we can not trust everyone who rents us a car. We hope that your opinion changes and that we feel very unfair this comment as we know that you were happy with the service and with the car. A cordial greeting.

Honest rentacar in Malaga Airport

When we arrived at Malaga airport and they took us to the express car rental car park. The professional and friendly service of the staff immediately attended us and we made the delivery of our car right there. We did not have to wait for queues or problems.
However, I would recommend taking out the full insurance for your peace of mind, we did this with our contract.
We have been renting cars for many years in the airport of Malaga and we consider that this company is the most honest in its policy of car rental.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY €700 refund not returned after 5 months

We have been chasing our €700 refund with this company for our booking in December 2017 and despite many promises no deposit returned. Same story as other people who have reviewed below - credit card machine not working so cannot return to card. "Due to a problem with our Visa System we cannot refund the deposit to your Credit Card. We have to do an international bank transfer. We will of course pay the cost. To do so, could you please provide us your account number, your IBAN-number and your SWIFT-code? Thank you in advance." Provided bank details and then every time we email or call them they promise that they are processing the payment. Still no payment 5 months later. Will be taking this up with our credit card company

Please do not reply to this post and say you want to verify we are clients and not competitors posting false reviews. THIS IS A GENUINE REVIEW FROM CLIENTS THAT USED YOUR SERVICE. Check your emails and see that your customer service have communicated with us on many occasions - but still no refund. Reference 36162 Multiple replies from Rita and Astrid but no money

There was no problem with car. No damage whatsoever.
We finally got our money back after more than 6 months and multiple emails and phonecalls.
It looks like this company are depending on some people not noticing they did not get their desposit back or giving up on the process due to the hassle involved. For us the amount was €700 so we were not prepared to give up.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AS IT IS NOT WORTH THE HASSLE TRYING TO GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK

In Malaga airport 1rentacar.

When we arrived at Malaga airport and the cars were delivered to the departure terminal, the professional and friendly service of the people immediately attended us and explained the two cars. There were no queues or discomfort
, however, I would recommend hiring the full insurance for your peace of mind.
I have been renting cars for many years at the airport in Malaga and I consider this company to be the most reliable.

Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!!

AVOID!!!!Same as most people on here. Hired two 7 seaters. No refund of €800 euros. They say they have a problem with their visa account but they manage to take the deposit off!!!Then they ask for bank details after you query why deposit not returned and promise it will be paid in. Still no refund and numerous replies to emails saying they will contact accounts department. Now visa bill in so out of pocket.

Update. We have now thankfully been refunded our deposit back into credit card after numerous emails and two phone calls to Spain.

I notice there is now a reply to my post two months after my return and they are asking for the contract numbers which are clearly in the post. They also haven’t noticed that the deposit was eventually refunded. Terrible service! I will not be using this company again.

PLEASE PAY BACK MY DEPOSIT LIKE YOU PROMISED

It has been more than 1 month since we returned the car. Numerous phone calls and emails. Every time it's a different excuse.

Now they have stopped responding to my emails. I am getting no where trying to get my money back.

This is unfair and unacceptable- do not use this company.

the best service

1rentacar offer the best service and prices for car hire from Malaga airport in my opinion.
I have used them 11 times. Fair prices. No hidden extras. Great staff. You only pay for half a tank of fuel to bring back empty for a basic hire. Good cars. Importantly, you drive away happy, unlike other car hire companies I used to use who leave you fuming.
Beware of others with lower headline prices and companies.
My only fear is that they will become too popular and lose the friendly, efficient and fair personal touch. Lets hope not!
