Awful service

Awful service that I foolishly gave 3 chances. We ended up waiting at least 45 minutes each time, up to an hour and a half past the reservation time to actually get keys in hand due to long lines and understaffed locations. 2 out of 3 times online payment wasn't registered by their system, despite me receiving confirmation had been, causing even longer delays. Despite charging a surcharge for after hours return, they will tell you that they actually don't do after hours returns at all outside of the airport, despite being allowed to reserve online at a specific location at a specified time after hours.

Awful, avoid these people.

Beware, motorbike scam

We rented a Harley motorbike. We drove it for about 30 miles, turned bike off and it would not restart . We were told it was our fault, that we had run the battery down . They wanted another 500euro to send another bike out. We would not pay so they left us stranded. They took 2 days rental and 500 euro deposit and would not give anything back. The assistance guy was very rude and treated us as if we knew nothing (my husband has been riding bikes for 40years)
We checked Harley and it is physically impossible for us to run the battery down if the battery was in good condition .
They told us to raise a dispute with our bank, which is suspicious . We also raised a issue at the police station in Madeira and were told it had happened before

DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM HERE!!!

We got the car back unfortunately 50 minutes late because we got problems fiding a gas station. The lady started to shout with us immediately trough the phone that we must pay 100 euro penalty, and an extra single day with insurance, even if we had the car for 4 days. We arrived with the car 2 minutes after the call, and after we mentioned that we won’t pay 140 euros because of this 50 minutes late, the lady started to shout more loud that she’s calling the police, and pointing in our faces with her finger. We paid the amount then, after that the lady blamed us about a previous damage on the car. Fortunately there were photos of the car.

Speechless behaviour, never experienced something like that.

The car rental was quick and efficient in a nice atmosphere. The formalities were taken care of quickly and without any problems. The car was clean and functional. The return of the car was quick and without any problems.

Expect to invest most of a day at pick up

We have had an unfortunate experience while renting a car in Funchal. Despite having booked and paid online for 2 cars online this process has been anything but seemless. We arrived and waited for over 2 hours with no engagement from the worker. We eventually were greeted with the warning that it was now lunch time and we would be waiting an additional hour. It is entirely unacceptable to me that despite a reservation and prepayment we will be 3.5hours from arrival to the storefront to the time we get in our car. Currently, still do not have the vehicle so the total time is unknown.
ETA: after 5+ hours we got a car
This review was posted the day of the Experience and was attempted to be rejected by the company.

Destroyed the whole day of my vacation

Destroyed the whole day of my vacation. Girl working there was nice and understanding but the general policy and costumer service of the company is terrible. Insurance is a scam and it is worth nothing. Honestly it is much better to just go with a travel company on daily trips and take local busses where you can than renting a car.

Slow service and unclear fuel level

We reserved our car in advance via the company’s website. We had to wait nearly an hour to get the car due to slow customer service.

The car’s fuel tank was not full. Only at 1/4 level. We had to guess how much to refuel when returning the car. Also, the return took a lot of time, again due to slow customer service.

There should be more employees for handling the customers quicker. This has a huge effect on the customer satisfaction.

Got a car with broken breaks which…

Got a car with broken breaks which maked a very loud and anoying noise. Service told us that WE have to drive with this car to a mechanic to clean up the breaks and if this doesnt help we will get a new car.
Then the service gave us a wrong adress of mechanic it was not able to find. When we returned to Service, it was closed because of having Break, so we had to wait more than a Hour. Finally After long discussion with the service, we got a new car.
We wasted More than 4 hours with this stupid service in our vacation.

Rude and dismissive staff and all round poor service

My experience of this branch is that they were very poor. A long wait to deal with the paperwork is not unusual, but of much more concern was the fact that the deposit was debited to my UK credit card twice in error, and the resultant additional card charges and loss on exchange when the second unauthorised deposit was eventually refunded were not reimbursed to me. The refund took very nearly a week.
My complaints were simply dismissed in a cursory manner and no apology forthcoming.
I now live nearby in Madeira, and I certainly will not be using them again, especially as I have now discovered that there are plenty of cost effective alternatives on the Island, and even locally in the immediate vicinity.
Very happy to provide all of the booking details, in order to avoid the recurring generic and dismissive response from the 7m team suggesting that the review is false.
Their website is certainly amusing to check out. Apart from false claims such as 24 hour support when their opening hours suggest otherwise, among the languages they claim to speak include Welsh as well as Japanese.

No complains at all

Based on my experience, I can confidently say that 7m is an honest company that delivers exactly what you expect from a car rental service, they collect you from the Funchal Airport, then you complete the rental process, car was nice and clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, returning the car was just as easy. Thanks

Very organized and friendly, easy to use

The service is very organized and easy, you can book a car in advance and get it delivered to precise location and time of your choice, as well as customize your drop off. The staff are amazing, super friendly and knowledgeable, feels like a family 🤍 I highly appreciate them and truly recommend 👍🏻

Brilliant in every way😃

7m Thankyou!Replied very quickly always. Easy instructions what they will do.We had our car delivered to hotel & picked up at the end of our holiday. The man who delivered car was waiting outside early & very nice & friendly.The car was beautiful & basically brand new, the man went around the car with me & he pointed out l mark on wheel trim & a small scratch but was so small.At the end of holiday we just left the keys behind hotel reception & they picked car up & we didn't even see them at the return of car.Will definitely use 7m again. 👍😃

do not take a car from this rental company. I promise that your car is insured for everything, when you pay the insurance. but then when you make a oné defect, they want 580 euros from you. dodge the arc!!!

7M agreed to exchange then never did honour was left 6 days without a hire car and asked for a refund .. No refund and still waiting !!

Awful service … Never using or recommending 7M to anyone again !

Horrible

We reserved a cabrio car a long time ago and when we arrived no car in this category was available. 7m tell us different version for this incident (1 was the car is waiting for parts for réparation). 7m did not advise us. We wait 2 hours and we leaving without solution. 7m did not respect the contract and did not refill entirely the money. 7m publish wrong information with our personal information on public web site.
