Loyal customer lost

We have been clients of this company for over three decades. That has now ended.

When a panel cover on our washer lifted after a repair they did with it, causing our lid to catch on it, break, and need pushing and holding down to lock, I called the company to explain the issue and sent photos. When the problem originated, we had an out-of-town trip planned, and I decided we'd have to leave it until we were home. At the time of my return and initial call, we were just two weeks out of the 90-day warranty. The company refused to take any responsibility and chose to stick to the warranty period. I explained our loyalty across three homes we’ve owned. The receptionist, Lindsey was kind but unfortunately unable to do anything. I made 4 calls to speak to the supervisor, Anthony, and was promised he’d call me. The call never came. I followed up and she told me to try to call the next day (he was always out of the office when I called). I decided 4 calls were enough and Anthony had no interest in keeping this loyal customer (who had referred to them many times over the years) was not worth bothering with.

The techs employed by the company have been professional and kind. Unfortunately, the management leaves much to be desired.

I’m going with a DIY as it does not appear to be a complicated issue to replace the lid based on research we did, following the lack of response from Anthony.

Sadly, this company lost a long-time customer over a problem they could have probably spent half an hour or less fixing.

Edit after finding additional info: see that this company is not accredited with the BBB.
Reading that 800Appliance/Appliance Rescue is connected to home warranty companies and manufacures to do repairs. They obviously don't feel the need for the unaffiliated random caller; we are not their bread and butter. They figure their biz will be busy enough with these other contracts. Customer service doesn't mean a thing anymore. Such a shame.

They get a ZERO

They get a ZERO but this site assumes no one can be that bad. Wrong!

I have a KitchenAid refrigerator door that need replacing. It's under warranty. It has been 4 weeks since the first arrival to "replace my door." Rather than use the information (photos) I sent them, they sent a tech to take the same photos. The door arrived this last Sunday with no notice to me. I made my reseller schedule the appointment figuring a dealer in KitchenAid would get faster service. The appointment was in a 4 hour window, today. At the END of the 4 hour window, I received a call from the central dispatch that the tech will not be arriving today. WHY? He didn't know it was to install the door they ordered!?!?!? WTAF! It's on the work order. Now I am rescheduled for Friday, and ANOTHER 4 hour window. I have waited a total of 12 hours so far for them to do their job.

Simply put, they suck.

These guys are crooks.

You might as well meet the guy at the door with a check for $139.00 and send him on his way. That's all they care about. During a recorded call, I clearly explained that my stackable washer and dryer needed to be moved entirely out of the cabinet to inspect the hoses. I was assured that technicians have the necessary equipment for this.
The guy showed up with a strap to move an oven. He had no intention of moving anything. He said he inspected the hoses behind the machine by shining a flashlight down the sides of it. He must have x-ray eyes. Good for him! He complained about the fact that I wanted the unit moved.
Anthony, the manager, stated he listened to my call to book the appt. but blatantly lied about the details. I was shocked. When I pointed this out, he refused to take responsibility and insisted on charging me the service fee, threatening collections and court action. This level of service and intimidation is unacceptable. How can Whirlpool refer them?

Our ice maker failed on our 2 yr old KitchenAid refrigerator. It was still under our warranty. Service was provided by 1-800-Appliances. The technician was Nathan C #162. He was courteous, cordial, knowledgeable, respectful of our property, and though it required multiple parts ordered & trips. He did a fantastic job! He takes pride in his work! Give this guy a raise! $$$

Happy Customer!

Charged when problem not fixed

I was referred to this company by KitchenAid since they have trained KitchenAid employeeres. Tim came to my house in October due to ice forming/water leaking under my deli tray. He wasn't sure what caused it but said it was "probably a clog" in the back of my draining unit. It was all frozen over and he saw nothing, but guessed that was it. I mentioned concerns about my fridge fluctuating in degrees from 29/30 up to 48 degrees. My temp is set at 40. We did this because stuff kept freezing. He ignored this concern. Well I don't know much about fridges, but that didn't seem normal. Now 7 months later ice and water are back. Forming in the same area - EXACTLY how it was prior. He came back out - no charge and really didn't have an explanation. Again, ignored concern about fluctuating temp. He cleared out the ice and said hopefully that will do the trick. Maybe something clogging it again. Well this time 3 days later the ice/water is back. When I called he said he talked to Whirlpool and they recommended changing everything - like 4 different parts. He said prices are really high for parts and labor increased due to gas. Price was going to be over $500 dollars. I asked what about the original charge being put toward this. He said No because it was a different problem according to his notes. That is BS! This is the exact same problem and I remember him guessing the first time because he saw nothing clogging it. Well, here is where I'm frustrated. I asked if he could come out to see if all parts needed to be changed or if he could investigate more. Well that was going to be another $140 service fee charge and that doesn't go toward repair. What?!?! So I called and asked if I could talk to a supervisor. I was told the supervisor was busy but would call me back. And ... they never did. I called another person who has worked on my appliances before. He said this guy was treating the symptoms and not the problem. Fridge temps shouldn't fluctuate like that and if they are going below the 32 degree's then things are freezing, likes water lines, filter housing, etc and that would cause things to clog or lines to break. I got all of this from a phone call. My concern with the temp fluctuating was validated. So - be careful. These guys do not want to do any work on main problems ... that way you have to call them back out. In notes, they will just call it a new problem. Then charge you more. Or ask you to fix parts that don't actually fix the problem. Super disappointed in this company and that KitchenAid refers to them. He also told me they don't like to do repairs for things under warranty because they don't get enough money on those fixes. Wow! So if I have something that should be under warranty and covered I HIGHLY doubt they would tell me. Unfortunately, this company can not be trusted ... or at least not Tim.

Absolutely Amazing Experience!!

Absolutely Amazing experience! I had an issue with my Whirlpool refrigerator and scheduled a warranty service on Whirlpool's website. They originally sent out another company (ADA Repair) who was a complete joke! (I gave them a 1-Star rating on Trustpilot as well). I ended up calling Whirlpool directly and asking them to send another company.

Here's where 1-800Appliance comes in! The tech (Jace) showed up on time and was very helpful, courteous and professional. He quickly diagnosed the issue and ordered replacement parts. He returned two days later with the parts and got my refrigerator back up and running.

He did advise that Whirlpool had changed one of the connectors on the coupler that didn't allow him to get a complete securement on it and to watch it over the next couple of days. He said if the part was to fail he would classify the refrigerator as non-repairable and order me a new one under the warranty. I loved the honesty and being open about any possible issue that may arise! THANK YOU!!

Thank you 1-800 Appliance (800appliance.com) I will surely recommend all my friends to you! If you are in the Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City area and need a tech for your refrigerator, microwave or other kitchen appliance please call this company!

I did ask my tech for permission to share his info and he was ok with it.
