If I could give them a 0 out of 5 stars… Class Action Lawsuit

If I could give them a 0 out of 5 stars I would. I have purchased numerous art pieces to find they are fakes, they refuse to provide provenance information, and when you question them, they ghost you. I am initiating a class action lawsuit. Please contact me if you have had a bad experience with this auction.

no provenance …

never buy anything here and expect authentication. They jerked me around claiming the consigner was in England and will not allow access for information and provenance. If it seems to be too good to be true, it probably is,

Not a very truthful auctioneer

Not a very truthful auctioneer. Be cautious if you are purchasing anything of value from here. I've seen a lot of complaints about fake paintings and cards. I for one purchased a card that based on the description, led me to believe it was an authentic card. I paid hundreds for it, found out it was fake as soon as I received it. I attempted to return it being that I was misled, but at first they were not willing to accept the return. I filed a complaint with my credit card company and after many attempts with phone calls and emails, they finally accepted my return. Just be careful what you are paying, it may/may not be exactly what is described.

If I could give these clowns no stars I…

If I could give these clowns no stars I would. They dont like being held accountable for their shipments. When asked where a missing box was, they basically said not my problem. Then they blocked me from bidding on any future auctions, which is fine by me as they are crooks. They also charge US dollars in Canada to further rip you off. Stay away from these bandits!

Beware these are scammers

Attention, they scammed me. 888Auctions are scammers and should be reported to the authorities. Also, much of the art pieces you buy is fake. All fake pieces. I find it very strange that they have not been arrested until now.

They stole my debit card information and hacked my account

I recently purchased a piece of art from them. After reading all the reviews I can assume it is a fake. But not only that, shortly after I paid for this item using my debit card it was hacked. This is no coincidence. I had not used it for a time and then all of a sudden this happens. The kid on the phone taking my card number seemed uneducated and sketchy. Do not trust them with your credit or debit cards.

only one star as there is no option for (0).
Avoid doing any business with this (888 Auctions) company like a plague.
Their telephone message box is always full and they will not return e mail messages.
I am not able to collect my auction winnings even I drove two hours to their dinky little hole of a shop... they are always closed.

I bid on a '1.00 ct Brilliant Cut D Color VS.2 Diamond' thinking it was a diamond....wrong! I never found out it was a Lab created diamond until I translated the Mandarin brochure that accompanied it. They should definitely disclose that the diamond is lab created, they are just as nice, but that is not what I wanted. But I lost the stone, and so far, my money. No refund, but they took the diamond back. Still holding out hope they will be honest, and send me my money back.

Fraudulent, Stay Away

I have had nothing short of a horrible experience with 888 Auctions. I went in on two auctions, a few days apart. They do not disclose shipping prices until after the auction is closed, as they use a 3rd-party company. I won a small Bombay wood box for less than $7, to which the shipping company wanted to charge $95 to ship. When I contacted both the shipping company and 888 Auctions to address the issue, neither responded.

I already had active bids in a second auction which stated that the pickup was in my state (NJ), so I at least knew that I could avoid the insane markup on S&H. I won 15 items, mostly Asian "antiques" for $431. They charged my card immediately after the auction, but did not send an invoice or pickup information. I had to contact them repeatedly to first receive the invoice, and they still would not provide the pick up information.

At this point, I contacted the bank to dispute the charge. My bank notified me that if 888 Auctions replied back, they would release the money. Shortly after, 888 Auctions finally sent the link to arrange pickup. I arranged pickup, and the day of I drove to the location, and when I went to pull up my invoice, I saw that they sent a last minute email stating that since I disputed the charge, they cancelled my pickup.

When I contacted 888 Auctions, saying that all they had to do was respond to my bank to receive the money, they refused, saying that it would take to long and they would rather just recharge my card. All the while, they had responded to my bank and received the money anyway.

So, 888 Auctions lied, and now they have my money and I have no product. I have contacted my bank again to continue the dispute, so hopefully I can get my money back.

To make matters worse, a week later, 888 Auctions had the nerve to send me an email asking me to leave them a good review in exchange for a 5% off voucher. Stay far, far away.

I'M BUILDING AN AMAZING ART COLLECTION!

Hi, I've been buying art from 888 for 6 months or so and 100 emails later I have to give the staff service an excellent response...and I give the advice that all buyers should be totally aware of what they are buying..and not buy lots they aren't sure of , because that's the number one rule of auctions...And at the prices they offer, one has to take everything into account when bidding...my only problem has been with the Live Auctioneer computer bidding system that...to me seems unreliable...which again after courteous discussion was resolved with the staff I have to admit I have no expertise with stones or antiques...So I give then 4 and one half out of five, and hope to keep doing good business with them for a long time...cause I'm building a nice little art collection, for a country bumpkin!

Beware and stay away

I work in the art industry, and examine thousands of artworks per year. Recently a client was conned by this place and bought one of the many fakes they offer. They have done a good job of manipulating their Google page, so at a glance they look legitimate. They used to use Invaluable as a bidding portal, but looks like they have been dropped, probably because Invaluable has some integrity. They are now listing on LiveAuctioneers, a portal that doesn’t seem to care (I say this, because I have notified them of fakes more than once, and get insincere responses). Every piece by the artists I am specialized in appraising (I will let others speak to the rest) are FAKE. There is no question these people are not hapless victims here, but perpetrators of fraud - their behaviour is just too egregious.

Scammers!!! Be careful!!!

Be careful, SCAMMERS!!!!! SCAMMERS!!!! SCAMMERS!!!!
On 10/22/20, I bought two diamonds from 888 auctions. Upon receiving, I send the diamonds to the GIA diamond lab, and The diamond came back has a lab-grown diamonds. The value of lab-grown Diamonds worth much less than earth-mined diamonds! I tried to get a refund, but they refuse to give a full refund they wanted to refund me only the hammer price, which is 22% less than what I originally paid.
If you do decide to bid with 888 auctions, please be careful!!! Pay only with a credit card in case you will have a dispute. A good credit card company can help you to get your money back.
