The manager of the bike shop contacted me after seeing my review.

I’m of the opinion that what we do to correct mistakes is far more important than the initial mistake. They amended the error, advised feedback was delivered to the staff member involved, and apologised profusely for the experience. In doing so, restored my trust in the business

Disappointed the mistake was made, but they went above and beyond to fix it. Adjusted to 4 stars.

Original review:
I came in with a bike which already had the crankset removed, and asked them to remove the bottom bracket. Very easy job.

They charged me $25 for only 2 minutes of labour. That works out to $750 per hour charged for labour!

They only told me the cost after doing the 2 minutes of work, so the only option I had was to pay for the overpriced work.

Providing costs before work is completed and charging reasonable amounts for quick jobs like this are a great way to build trust with your customers. 99bikes Springvale missed that opportunity, and also lost a returning customer.

I would stay away from this workshop, at least for small, quick jobs

Thanks to Jim at Springvale store for getting my daughters bike going again today ultra quickly by going out of his way. I have had dealings with 99 bike's competitors also over the last ten years and every time I feel like 99 bike's care about the customer service and experience much more seriously.

Was the most helpful and thorough service. Chose our bikes perfectly based on our price and choice. Very happy customers 😃

Great service, good prices

Blue Eyes at the Springvale store spent a lot of time with me trying to find a bike to suit me. As I have knee replacements, I was unfortunately unable to fulfill my dream of having a bike but it wasn't for want of trying. Apart from swapping Blue Eye's young legs with my much older ones, there was nothing more he could do. My dreams of having a bike were totally shattered, as was I.

We were recently at the Springvale 99 bikes for a bike rack for our car. I have to say the customer service we received was world class. I regret not asking for the name of the gentleman who helped so wonderfully. Nothing was too hard for him. He went out of his way to accommodate every question and enquiry we had. He even went out of the way to remove the rack he had on his own car to ensure such a rack would fit on our car. He was multitasking and helping every customer as they came in while ensuring we were catered for at the same time. All the while with a big energetic smile on his face! Thank you!

Trent was very helpful,and even put some extra air in my tires for the ride home.

From ordering the bike a couple of months ago, through to the pickup process and adjusting it to my needs, Ben was extremely helpful. Highly recommended!

Part was in stock. Easy to order on line. Good price. Easy to click & collect

Ben was super helpful when we were in the store looking to purchase some accessories - bery personable and went out of his way to make sure we knew how to use them and also attached to them to my bike for me. Also used the service team - not sure of the lovely guys name who serviced the bike but that was a super experience as well - thanks team Caroline

The staff are extremely knowledgeable and as friendly as hell. Answered all the questions I had, plus a few I hadn't thought of.
The experience was better than I could have hoped for.

Online order. Pick up at store. Just has to wait a little bit as staff selling bikes.

Awesome team there. These guys go out of their way to help me with my bike problems. David was super helpful.

I needed a spare part for my floor drive pump and they had it in stock. They shipped the part to my nearest store and I was able to pick it up very simply. The in store service when picking up was excellent. My only issue was the estimate on how long it would take before I could pick it up. Originally, I was told that it would be ready in less than 2weeks. 4 weeks later I picked it up.
