Nothing but fraud

Nothing but fraud and at least as horrible as Magenta in Austria. Horrible customer service , horrible internet performance, for a relatively high price. If you want good Internet in Vienna, you have to choose one of the small providers like Telematica, Fonira or others

This comment is specific to A1 Sofia…

This comment is specific to A1 Sofia (Bulgaria), witout a doubt the worst and incompetent service, they promised 2 static IP address, 1 for security and the other gerneral internet activity, this bumch of muppets don't know if they are on their backsides or elbows.
Only 1 static IP provided, then when queried, a so call female technical expert said another static IP will cost more, ok, I agreed, surprise surprise, they didnt provide one, when queried with another so called Technical expert, told they don't provide one.
On another issue, I require access to the Router, they A! block access, (This is MY friggin Router I paid for it).
A1 is a bunch of incompetent/BS/scammers DONT USE THEM.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PROFITEERING A-HOLES

I lasted one month with these jerks and even after I cancelled my account with them, they still managed to squeeze more money out of me.

In their store they signed me up for a monthly tariff of 37 Euros. They didn't say a word about any other charges. I discovered later that if I'd wanted to know about them, I would have had to read the fine print in the contract they quietly handed me when I left. After one month they sent me a bill for 107 Euros. When I called them to ask why, they told me that the first month is always expensive because you have to pay the 'activation fee' and 'annual access fee', neither of which they ever told me about in their shop. I told them I wanted to speak with the store staff who'd sold me the contract without telling me about these charges. They told me 'it's not possible' to call individual stores. This from a phone company. Annoyed, I immediately cancelled my account and switched to another company that offers better service for a little over ⅓ the monthly tariff, with no hidden charges (check out spusu.at !). Even after doing this, I found out that I still had to pay for another month of service at A1 because their cancellation policy says that you can only cancel one month in advance. So, these lovely people are charging me ~150 Euros after telling me that I would pay 37 Euros per month of service. What's more, when they sign you up, they take your bank account details so they can charge you directly and you can't stop them without launching a dispute through your bank. What a racket. Profiteering scumbags.

STAY AWAY

Exciting update: I just received their bill for the final month of service for which they're still charging me even after I cancelled my account with them. Big surprise; this bill is also not the 37 Euros they told me I'd be paying per month but rather, 49 Euros. Why? The bill reads like this:

Credit: -37.90
Monthly fee: 63,04
One-time fee: 15,83
Bill total: 40,97
20% value-added tax: 8,19
Gross bill total: 49,16.

'One-time fee'? Seriously? Why don't they just write 'Money we want to take from you and you can't stop us so we will'? And what's with the nonsense monthly fee? They said my monthly tariff would be 37 Euros. Signing up with this company is like wandering into a swamp and picking up a leech that won't get go. Gross!

b.free internet mit startpakt is terrible.

I took the prepaid b.free internet mit startpaket from a local A1 shop. I was going on a trip to Spain that week so I asked the salesman if I was able to use it. Of course he said yes, which was a flat lie. Customer service ignored me when I tried to purchase an alternative that worked for my situation. Do not recommend.

The good, the bad and the UGLY

The good, the bad and the ugly (borrowed from the movie name):
- the good: I am a new customer, installation date quickly set and respected. Internet up and running quickly and so far (5 days) reliably.
- the bad: the installers removed the cover plate on the wall and had no replacements to cover the adjacent sockets. There was no user guide with the modem.
- the ugly: many things:
* wrong home address used for mailing from A1 with passwords, although home address is correctly entered in A1 database
* received yesterday 2 text messages, that callback for support has been registered. Since more than 23 hours (!) no call back from A1
* user manual for modem (H268N) not found on A1 website
* no password given to logon to WLAN box, no info found on A1 website (luckily Google search helped: default is no password needed, just admin as user name)
* Search for help on a1-servicecenter: page "beste WLAN Tipps" link to "A1 WLAN Box configuration": page not found
* Search for help on a1-servicecenter: page "beste WLAN Tipps" link "Extern auf Modem zugreifen": page not found
* Other pages under A1 WLAN Box Configuration also not existing

They stole my money and I do not get any response.

I do not recommend this company. I bought a simcard in Innsbruck because the staff in the store promised me that I was going to be able to use it in Germany. Here in Germany is useless (no internet, no calls and no sms), I contacted the customer support service to get help with this, and they told me just to go to the store to complain and ended the chat, without any help. This is a whole company looking for steal your money. Please take care and avoid it!

Worst customer experience ever

Leaving them. Poor service, patronizing service people on the phone, absolutely worst experience I've had as a customer. It seemed as if they're paying me and not the other way around. Impossible. Professional customer relations and service in Austria is non-existent.

The worst home internet service I have…

The worst home internet service I have had in my life. My contract was until February, and internet suddenly stopped working on the 31st of December, because of mistake of their employee. I called their hotline but the lady said she couldn't do anything and that I have to wait until January 2nd. But I needed internet both on the New year eve, and on 1st January for work, so I had to spend 15 euro to buy gigabytes of internet on the phone. And nobody from the company even apologized for their mistake.

The worst service ever

The worst service ever
I have never seen such a bad service.
They are getting money for a service which they are not providing to me and when I called them they offered a worse solution which forces me to sign another 2 year contract.
I can't wait the day my contracts ends so I can find a real internet provider not such a looser like A1

A1 has been my WORST experience.

A1 has been my WORST experience.. they take money than they should.. the said they’ll credit it to me on the next payment and the next month they take again more money Which they can’t explain where it came from without my authorization.. People on the service line don’t speak English (if you don’t speak English don’t get a customer service job in a city like vienna) .. they keep me on hold forever, last time the lady hang up on my call just because she didn’t want to answer my questions, SO UNPROFESSIONAL... on the shop most of the times don’t solve my problems which have been plenty since I signed up a contract with them, every month there is a different problem.. WORST PHONE COMPANY EVER.... I don’t recommend it to anyone.

They are getting better

They are a good option for me, I like most of the shop's I have been to and the staff was helpful most of the time. The phone support is decent and I experience that they are working on making it better.

Horrible company

Horrible company. For example, if you go over your monthly package costs, they will charge you immediately and if you don't pay immediately, they will turn your phone off. Even worse, they force you to pay WITHOUT providing you an invoice, so you can see your charges only after 2 weeks of PREpaying them. So, in essence, they can charge whatever they want and forcing you to prepay without knowing for what exactly. This should be illegal!

The worst experience that I ever had!!!

The worst experience that I had with a communication service after Vodafone. It's just a fkn scam in one word. I live in Austria for 3 years and they still managed to scam me for 4 than not fewer times. Minimal recharge amount is 10€ and at some point they apply a fkn fee of 1€ and then you have to recharge your phone with another 10€ because you just can't add 1€. FKN REDICULOUS!!! Hate this communication operator!
