Got fitted up for the kilt etc, they never had the one I choose in the shop so I collected it all from the shop as arranged before heading for a wedding up in Inverness. 2 hours before the wedding I took it all out to get dressed and there was a horrible stain on the kilt. I had to clean this myself. Needless to say it ate into my time getting ready and really stressed me out. Then I find the Kilt at its tightest is far too loose. I basically had to hold it up during the day for photos etc then later take off the sporran an fold it over at the top to stop it falling down. I realise I really should've tried this all on before I left for Inverness but I didn't think I would have to after being measured in person. I told people about this and they basically said it was unacceptable. When I returned it I said to the girls in the shop about it (who are lovely) and they said to email about it. Which I did. I got a phone call from the owner asking what I wanted out of this. It took me by surprise and wasn't very professional, I wasn't really after anything I just wanted them to know about the stain and the fitting. I got the feeling he didn't believe me regarding the stain. I sent a picture as requested and the reply was that they are all cleaned when they come back and there's a stamp or something that goes on the kilt. The Kilt was never cleaned that was obvious to me. I paid £120 for the kilt hire and I wont say what I was offered but it was an insult. I said I'll just leave a review. I don't think I've ever left a bad review before and haven't done this in the heat of the moment.

Extremely disappointing bitter and sour experience. Hired kilts for my son's wedding celebration, they charged £20 per kilt as security, refundable on return. We returned kilts in excellent condition, well within agreed period but never got the refund paid back to the card. Travelled to their Edinburgh store and spoke to David who took my details and promised to get it sorted and to send me a new TTD number, still waiting four weeks on. Made several phone calls, spoke to Claudia who promised David or a manager would call me back, never heard from them. I would never ever use them again, even if they were the only one left on the planet. I would strongly advise STAY AWAY FROM THEM. They are not reliable and not trustworthy nor honest.

I had left my kilt jacket in Dublin, the staff were so understanding and helpful.

I ordered three kilts from a1 kilts hire in possil they never gave me the shirts I asked for and am getting married tomorow totally outrage over the service I have been given and I will not be recommending them to anyone absoulty terrible

These guys were absolutely brilliant. The customer service was super professional and they managed to get 8 kilts sorted last minute due to being let down by a very well know Glasgow company. We can't thank them enough and the kilts were beautiful.

Turned up to the shop to get kids measured for kilts as requested by Bridal Party, was advised kids had to return for measurement as they grow too quickly, Was advised I was to pay £20 per kilt deposit which was refundable (which isn't the case) Advised the shop kilts are not required wont be needing them or measured again but refundable deposit not refundable all of a sudden.
Said its stated in terms and conditions that weren't advised or issued to myself. No come and go with store watsoever. Personally i only went to get them measured as per instruction from bridal party and no monies should have been taken from me in the first instance as it wasn't myself who booked them.

Ordered Kilt online, was emailed to say delivery was scheduled for the day before the event. Was then called, paid the extra deposit and then told it was coming the day before the event.

Then on the day before the event, the tracking informs me it's scheduled to arrive the day of the event when I need it and won't be in the city anymore. Delivery company phoned my well after the 6pm slot to say they couldn't find my address, and I had to just say to send the kilt back.

A1 were exceptional at following up with myself what happened. They were very polite and genuinely cared about making things right, generously refunding the full package I ordered and offering a free kilt for my next event.

Hopefully my next order goes off smoother and without issues.

This company went over and beyond to help after a VERY late suggestion to make it a kilt wedding. Exactly ONE WEEK before the wedding and we live in what's considered a remote area in the north of Scotland. We didn't think it possible but phoned on the off chance. Michael reassured me it was doable and he was straight on it. Good communication was kept up by Michael and Eve.
We didn't get our first choice of tartan but we did our second so we were surprised and delighted. The outfits all arrived early, packaged well and as ordered.
Diane contacted me a few days later saying they had received a pair of my son's own shoes in the kilt box, returned by mistake. I offered to transfer postage costs but she insisted they had no issue with sending them back to us free of charge.

The team of staff made everything so easy for us and we can't thank them enough. Well Done

Great service, the staff were quick and efficient. The rental was very affordable and great quality of jacket. Will definitely return and would recommend to anybody.

I hired 6 kilts and the lady who helped me with my choices was amazing. I could not be happier and most of all my wife was delighted with the outfits.

Great help during lockdown and getting us outfits sorted out. We gave these guys a big job as we kept changing our minds but they were so patience with me and mostly my wife !!! Thanks very much for your help (especially the glasgow guys)

DO NOT USE this company for your kilt hire.
Unreliable, appalling communication, atrocious delivery, and full of false promises.
DO NOT USE if you want your wedding to be pain free and stress free.
I ordered a kilt suit and paid extra for early delivery and late return. It was due to be despatched to me 4 days before my delivery date. 1 day before delivery date they now told me it hasn't been despatched.

Awful. Nasty staff and uncommunicative. Rude and unprofessional. Cheap hire but terrible experience.

Kilt was great quality, fresh and tidy.. Cant fault it at all. Unfortunately the service was poor! The t&c's require the kilt to be returned by 1pm on the Monday else face a £5 fine. If not returned on the Monday the fine increases to £800 (cost of the kilt) ! Having travelled by plane to Edinburgh and returning late Sunday eve i was unable to return the Kilt as the store doesn't open on Sunday. No sympathy was offered to the predicament but rather treated with poor manners and abrupt rebuttals. Id recommend using a competing Edinburgh store as the majority open for at least 1 hour on Sunday to facilitate drop off.
