Extremely disappointing experience.

Extremely disappointing experience.
I had two cars insured with AAA and was paying about $285 total. After removing one car, my remaining vehicle should have stayed around $162/month, but without any notice (no email, text, or call), AAA increased my monthly charge to about $204 and charged this amount for multiple months.
There were no changes to my mileage, driving record, or violations. When I contacted customer service, I was given a small one-time credit and told the higher price would continue.
After switching to another insurance company and calling to cancel, I was told I was only owed about $2, despite being charged $204 for the current month and still being within the coverage period and just passed 9 days. No clear explanation or refund was provided.
Charges were taken without proper notice or consent, and customer service was dismissive and unwilling to escalate or resolve the issue. This experience felt misleading and unfair. I do not recommend AAA based on my experience.
This is only a short summary of their fraudulent actions. My full experience was far worse.

AAA is bait and switch! Don’t buy it

My mom and I have been AAA customers for years, when mom’s battery died we used an AAA battery. Big mistake. The battery died but they won’t replace it right away… they make you go get your battery recharged (most places charge for that). Then you have to wait. So we did that it wasn’t long when it died again. The technician came again and telling us another step and we said no way, replace the battery. Now her battery is again dead. Apparently AAA replaces your battery with old batteries they’ve taken back. Both mom and are so pissed we are cancelling both memberships and will tell anyone within earshot to NOT use AAA.

AAA didn't get a zero star review…

AAA didn't get a zero star review because timing to my location was good and the tech was very helpful. BUT...AAA won't stock batteries for 2016 Outbacks. Why? They're a ROADSIDE ASSISTANT company. Cannot understand how they can take my money and not have the battery that most cars from 2015 and up need. What a crock. This is the second time (2 different states) that I have had this issue. AAA should not advertise this service if only a small segment of the population can benefit. But the fellow who showed up in this miserably cold weather was very kind.

AAA Premier, 3 Days and 7+ Hours On the Phone for a Tow

AAA has turned what should be a simple service into a total mess. I’m a Premier member (15+ years) and I just spent three days and over 7 hours on the phone trying to get a tow scheduled for the next day. No one takes responsibility, and every transfer means starting from scratch, answering the same questions over and over like a never-ending loop.

Escalation is a joke. The “supervisor” offered no remedies, no solutions, and just repeated the same canned responses with zero empathy or people skills. Even their phone system is broken: the automated recording cuts in late and talks over you, interrupting the conversation and making everything harder.

This is not the experience you expect from a paid membership service. AAA needs to fix their systems and retrain their customer service teams immediately.

Worst insurance experience of my life

I had an accident on January 2nd. Their insurance was AAA. From day one, AAA provided zero support. They never once called me. I was the one who had to chase them for five weeks with constant calls and messages.

After five weeks of silence, they finally sent an appraiser and told me they would pay and I could fix my car. Then suddenly, with no explanation, they called and said they changed their mind and refused to pay.

The staff were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I was literally told, “We decide what happens, do whatever you want.” No accountability, no empathy, no customer service.

They wasted five weeks of my time, kept changing their story, and clearly do everything possible to avoid paying claims. I have never experienced such poor service from any company in my life.

My advice to anyone: if the other driver has AAA, get a lawyer immediately. Do not trust them. They will delay, ignore you, and try to avoid paying at all costs.

Absolutely unacceptable.

My wife battery died and she called AAA…

My wife battery died and she called AAA and someone contacted her from Lake City Florida, 3 hours a way from our location.
Then after some time she was told it would be nearly 2 hours before some body could jump her car. We called our son and he came to the rescue.
We pay for the best service of AAA and never get it

As long as the weather is good........

I have used AAA several times, with good response and good service. However, this last time was not good at all. They simply didn't show. I called on a Saturday, told them the weather was vile and could even wait until Sunday for service. On Sunday, I saw several trucks, including an Amazon truck, go by our house so their excuse for both days "we couldn't get there because of weather" really didn't hold up. I have written to their main office with more detail, I don't expect to hear anything, though. Especially if the weather is bad.

EXTORTION!!!!!

Started a new policy in December of 2025, called now in February 2026 for help. I was told my policy was cancelled by AAA, took several people and supervisors to waste my time and explain their bogus reasons for doing this to me and never notifying me about it, and then told to yet again wait more for another department to help me get a new policy started to get help and " make it right", Lo and behold they made it right by doubling the price for the same plan ,and making a mockery out of me. I will not be extorted in the time of need. I was stuck, but with some pain , effort and time wasted (however unpleasant), I managed to make due without them, and not allowed for this scummy ,dishonest company to be rewarded for their appalling behavior. They will never have my business again, and everyone I come in contact will know the truth about this nasty company.

DO NOT book through triple A

Booked flight tickets to fly across the country through AAA website that had a layover in Salt Lake. Checked in on time and picked my seats for both flights. Fully paid. Flew to Salt Lake and found out my second flight back home “did not exist”. No emails regarding cancellation and money was taken. Now I’m stranded in a random (but lovely) city. It was easy to reach an agent but he just told me I had to figure it out with the airline to rebook a flight or get a refund.

Discounts aren’t even that good, it is NOT WORTH booking through triple A.

Absolutely deplorable customer service

Absolutely deplorable customer service. I've had to use five times and each one was worse than the next. I'm a platinum member and it really doesn't mean a thing. They give you impossible maps to find a pin on and leave you waiting endlessly for help. One outsourcerer even provided a falsehood. The same provider failed to report the falsehood to the company. Googling AAA States they provide winch service in wintry conditions in the snow. It also includes the other organizations which do so. AAA lied to me on the phone stating they did not do this.

Disgusting horrible service

Im a home healthcare nurse, went to a clients home my car slid and ended up in a ravine (ditch line) cannot move forward or back to get tires back on to the pavement. AAA refused to send help and the car is still in the ravine. The person told me tg to the store and buy a bag of salt and wait for the ice to melt on the street. How does that get my tires out of the ravine. This is horrible and disgusting service that I will never purchase again.

AAA is leaving their members in the…

AAA is leaving their members in the cold and won't even give you a appointment for service in NJ during this cold spell. Even after finnelly getting someone to come out didn't have a battery anywhere for my car. Was told to call again in a few days and hope they have a battery for my car. What BS! Got a battery and installed myself. What good is it being a paid member if they can't help you when you need the service!

Disappointing roadside assistance experience

Writing this review about my experience with AAA roadside assistance on 1/28/26 - I’m extremely disappointed. I submitted a roadside assistance request at 3:00 PM through the AAA app, since the phone system explicitly says using the app is faster. The app provided an ETA countdown timer which I used to time my Uber to arrive at the parking garage where my car died so I could meet the technician. By 4:30 PM, no one had arrived. When I called AAA, I was told the ETA shown in the app has been broken and is inaccurate (incredibly misleading!). She said the actual ETA was 4:30–6:30 PM and that I would receive a tracking link when the technician was on the way. That link never came. At 6:30 PM, I called again and spoke to the most unhelpful customer service rep I’ve ever dealt with. Every question I asked was met with the same robotic response: “You’ll receive a link when the technician is on the way.” No updates. No accountability. No attempt to help. It is now 9:30 PM (over 6 hours after my initial request) and no technician was ever on route. Because of AAA’s failure to follow through, my car is now stuck in a parking garage overnight, costing me additional fees that I should not be responsible for. I understand high call volumes and delays happen but this level of poor communication, broken technology, and useless customer service is unacceptable. When you pay for a service that’s meant to help in stressful situations, the bare minimum expectation is transparency, reliability, and basic human support. Extremely disappointed, and seriously reconsidering my membership after this experience.

Roadside assistance is HORRIBLE

I waited over an hour and half for a battery and was assured by AAA the technician would have one only to have Donovan C from Marc’s auto show up without and rudely tell me due to weather it was a safety issue and got back in his vehicle and left. I immediately called AAA explained the situation and asked if this would count as a service call. I was told I would have to call tomorrow to find out. I was also told to call back in the morning and try again. I have been a member with AAA since 2000. I will NOT be renewing my membership and I will NOT EVER recommend them to anyone. Shame on AAA. I am so DISAPPOINTED.
