A few years ago, I had a prescription for an item that Boots and other local pharmacies told me was unavailable, with a lead time of three months. When I visited the High Street pharmacy in Glasgow, their assistant didn’t have the item either but was insistent on checking with Abbey Chemist nearby. I was skeptical, but he called them, and Abbey Chemist did indeed have the item in stock.

More recently, I needed another item that local pharmacies couldn’t supply urgently. One nearby pharmacy asked me to wait, and after 15 minutes I was told they didn’t have it. I then went to Abbey Chemist, where the assistant actively searched the shelves, found the item, and kindly asked if I could wait 15 minutes for it to be prepared. I was happy to wait because their personal, attentive service made all the difference.
