I love the location but the park itself ìs very poor.
The lack of effort put into this park (Elie) is becoming more frustrating and the only reason to go is the surrounding areas.
Kids and adult entertainment is poor, overly priced and unreliable. The arcade for the kids is rubbish and often has issues with machines breaking. The shop is now closed, instead, offering very little stock via an overpriced vending machine.
The shower block also needs to be cleaned more often. Showers with toilets in them are disgusting.
Abbeyford need to do better or sell up and give to another chain willing to invest a little.

Pitches very small walking to the toilet block it’s like a minefield holes everywhere and very badly lit , there are lights but the majority don’t work . The arcade wouldn’t even call it that most of machines are in a state of disrepair not acceptable . The shop if you can call it that a vending machine . For the money that you pay the facilities should be a whole lot better. Certainly not a five star site we left a night early .

I have stayed at the Elie site 3 times…

I have stayed at the Elie site 3 times in the last 2 years and the only reason I did this is because my daughter wanted to borrow our caravan for our grand kids so who could say no.
From the first visit the pitches are far too small and I am sure would not be within fire regulations like the Caravan and Motorhome sites or the Camping and Caravan sites, however if you stay near to the park and entertainments it's really noisy most of the time. Second visit near the toilet block which I thought would be great since I had 3 grandchildren with us but no, parties keep us up most of the night and in the morning the door from the toilet block started banging from 6am, you would think they could install soft close doors.
The third time we went we had the beach front view second row in fact C19, this again was at my daughters request, first impressions the pitches are far too small as stated before on the up side this area is quiet no real problem of noise until at least after 9am with people running around enjoying their holiday. Unfortunately because the pitches are so close to each other and Awnings and rotary dryers encroach on you space and then people try to cut through you area my car has ended up with two really nasty scratches, one which goes around about half of the left side clearly a child on small bike or someone with a buggy, the second rather nasty as it has been a small collision which we assume would be a bike but will result in the door being fully resprayed.
Do Abbeyford Leisure care about these problems, no car is at your own risk.
However in saying this it is a absolutely beautiful area, great walks, stunning views, fantastic beaches for all water sports.
This is definitely not a 5 star site in anyway at all the pup prices are expensive and the food is well okay if you are hungry.
However in saying this I would have given at least 3.5 stars if my car had not been damaged during the holiday.

Booked 2 nights at Elie Abbeyford…

Booked 2 nights at Elie Abbeyford caravan site 20 - 23 October.
Unfortunately Storm Babet struck, with Red weather warnings and Danger to life warnings. Due to this I requested to move dates or receive a credit note for a later date. Company refused both, citing T&Cs about 30 days notice etc.
I believe in this case my request was justified and that Elie Abbeyford were being totally unreasonable and inflexible!

The caravan site it’s self is in a good location great views and close to St Andrews and and bar on site. but pitch’s not maintained properly very close to each other.
The main concern is toilets are disgusting poor drainage broken tiles no where to put your toiletries very very dated.
I won’t come back till toilets are updated.

Honest Review

St. Andrews Caravan Park Kinkell braes, Its a nice site, but we have some issues, the pitch sizes are ok for length but far too narrow ,as you only get your caravan on, and have to step out onto bare muddy grass area ! Also boys playing football right next to caravans day and night ! Which can cause damage to expensive caravans and cars ! The thudding of footballs day and night is less than ideal, a designated playing field might help , so a nice site being wasted !

Stayed in a static caravan on site never again!

Stayed in a static caravan on site - awful. Cobwebs everywhere. Stains on floors, seats and walls. Marks and mould on nets. Very small and supposed to be signature plus the plus is tiny decking which the sun is blocked by other caravans. Shower filthy and mould, Shower is rubbish and even shower head dirty. No shop on site. Avoid this place - they ask for all money up front - no deposit system, insurance in small print to be taken to get a refund. Very basic. Got to make and strip your own beds, no towels provided.

Used the St Andrews Holiday Park site…

Used the St Andrews Holiday Park site and although the site was overall clean and there was a restaurant onsite which was very reasonable the toilet / shower facilities were atrocious very unclean and tired to the point of exhaustion, the new block further along was no better in my opinion.....had to shower the kids in the motorhome as the showers looked so unclean and this is when covid is still on the go in the UK, get them updated Abbeyford you might get visitors coming back, for now I sure won't be.....

I have stayed in all 3 parks they have…

I have stayed in all 3 parks they have and they chose the most beautiful settings for a caravan park. St Andrews has a beach view and has a Papa John's pizza place which is clean and at good prices. St Monans is one of the most peaceful caravan parks I've ever been to, it is on the Fife coastal path and has stunning views, with nice people and cleaners running it. Elie is very close to nature and you can choose between a caravan in the beach or forest or a lodge. It also has a convenience store. All 3 are incredible, and the caravans are in good settings and are well cleaned. Brilliant company. 10/10!
