In December 2022
In December 2022, I placed an order for four items with Abcam. Initially, they couldn't locate it in their system, and after a week, I discovered they had misplaced it. I resent the purchase order file, and since it was close to New Year's, I requested the shipment be deferred until after the holidays because the university would be closed. Abcam's customer service confirmed they received my message and adjusted the shipping to January. However, the next day, I got an automated email from FedEx saying two items had been dispatched and were due to arrive on December 28th, during the holidays. I reached out to Abcam, who assured me it would be addressed, but it wasn't. Eventually, on January 3rd, I found the products in a melted state, surprisingly delivered to a different department from what was specified in the order. I informed Abcam again, asking them to update their system to prevent further confusion, as I can't manage deliveries to unintended locations. Initially, they didn't acknowledge their error until I provided the purchase order as proof. They then assured me that the remaining items would go to the right address. Unexpectedly, the next two items also ended up in the wrong place and were in poor condition before I was notified. After reaching out once more, Abcam promised to compensate by sending replacements to the correct location. However, I later received an email stating temperature-controlled delivery wasn't necessary, and they wouldn't be sending replacements.Overall, my experience with Abcam has been incredibly frustrating, and I won't make the mistake of ordering from them again. It's disappointing that the company can't ensure sensitive products are delivered to the correct address. My time and money were wasted over several months.
