Overall a very negative experience based on total overpriced passenger drop off chsarges.

Sorry to folk especially departing from Aberdeen Airport. Their drop off charges currently of £5.50 for less than 5 minutes is a total scam. This is not a good welcome or send off for anyone. Taxis have to pass on the fees. It is especially then expensive for anyone with heavy baggage or those who are physically less able and for for anyone less well off,

Surely the airport should consider giving a good experience should be made available for residents and vistors alike. This is anything but.

I need to state that my comments also include experiences in the last 4 months flying to and from Aberdeen. My experience today concerned simply dropping off my wife and for the fee for the very short time I was there.

Toilets generally clean. Staff are helpful.

Eateries and supposed duty free are more or as expensive as local stores. There are a good number of eateries for the size of the airport.

Tha airport is spacious and the seats are confortable. I noted a lack of provision for seating in the entrance lobby.

The low rating is really more like 1.2 and reflects my disgust at the extremely high comparative fee for dropping off and would advise travellers to avoid this scam!!

Overall, my expeience today was negative and certainly not one befitting of a welcome to Aberdeen and as a Gateway to a fantastic secenic and friendly area.

Thomson HELLidays

Thomson HELLidays, since rebranded, TUI, (T.errible U.nedicated I.diots) I should have flown with, 05 05 09.

Why else would an abominable company rebrand itself?

Escorted off Glasgow premises by what has since become Police Scuttledlands, PC's ABOMINABLE & ABERANT. This, for having the temerity to disseminate, Drs & Lawyers for responsible medicine literature. Ditto, nurses movement for responsible medicine. From which I have never since flown nor never, ever will with neither TUI, nor Scottish airports.

Arrested but not charged in Elgin for demonstrating about as such.

Summonsed to Aberdeen for having demonstrated about as such at Absurdistan airport. Acquitted.

Yet still no flight nor refund.

AN anti vivisectionist was yesterday cleared of sending a suspicious package to the boss of a Scottish airport.

Andrew Kirk, 50, was charged with breach of the peace after allegedly sending an alarming letter about vivisection to Aberdeen airport on March 19.

The case at the city's sheriff court was Kirk's first in Scotland, despite facing English courts 39 times. Kirk, of Inverness, said he sent the package to protest the airport's alleged involvement in transporting animals for testing.

He said: "I was exercising my right to free speech. To be charged with such an offence is insane."

Getting a taxi home is a joke

Late flight arrival from London as in after 11pm. After waiting in line along with others called Aberdeen Airport taxi number and it actually rings in the shelter.
Ended up walking up to holiday inn express with others and luckily got a taxi from there to get home.
Aberdeen hopes to be a tourist destination - dont make me laugh when our international airport doesn't even have taxi's waiting for incoming flights.

I had a great experience at Aberdeen…

I had a great experience at Aberdeen Airport. I got the bus straight to the airport from the ferry port. I was very early, and a helpful and cheerful employee, M.Diamond, was able to guide me through. There was a good size duty-free and a range of restaurants or places to eat. The BA lounge was spacious and warm due to the large windows letting in the sun. It has a simple selection of food, but there are good vegetarian options. I don't drink alcohol, so I cannot comment on the alcohol selection
The only reason this review is not 5* is because there are no prayer facilities.

Taxis at Aberdeen International…

Taxis at Aberdeen International Airport. Forget it, there aren’t any. Especially if you arrive on KLM’s 23.10 flight. I’m a regular international traveler and it usually takes me two hours to get a taxi from the airport to Cults. That’s only 7 miles and my wife and I could easily walk it in that time but for all the baggage we hump around the globe. It’s a disgrace.
As for international travellers arriving at Aberdeen International Airport trying to figure out how to get to their destination I’m ashamed to be an Aberdonian 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 ☹️.

Aberdeen Airport failing to deliver

Second time travelling through Aberdeen Airport in two weeks, ground crews obviously don't know what they are doing through lack of planning and coordinating by bosses.

THE worst ive seen the Airport operating in 20 years! Airport is seriously turning into a laughing stock!

Management need a serious look at themselves.

Highest flight fees and most expensive drop off in Europe

ABZ is a disaster of an airport. I've made that clear in an earlier review, so I'm not going to repeat that again. So for the latest experience:
I was picking up a friend from the airport. The flight landed 21:27, and at 21:41 "Bags at carousel" according to ABZ arrival information.
I drove in to short term parking 21:57, to ensure I would be within 20 minutes, and get away with 'only' £5. Right, my friend appeared with the luggage 22:14
Exit car park 22:18, i.e. 21 minutes and was charged £12. No word.....
ps I looked for my earlier review, and it seems to be gone. That just fits the bill for Aberdeen 'International' Airport.

Shambles

Getting through security was a shambles. Staff are rude and there is no order. Other passengers are allowed to push in front.

Aberdeen Airport Park and Depart

This is about Aberdeen Airport Park and Depart: the website suggests it is an official car park. It is poorly signposted, the bus took 20 minutes to reach the terminal, and it is a private enterprise. The map link is unintelligible and it may have been cheaper than the rip-off official car park (£100 for 24 hours!!), but I nearly missed my flight and feel that the whole thing (as it is presented) is a scam.

Disgrace

Aberdeen Airport is a disgrace. Arrived on a full flight late on Friday evening. Despite there being only one flight in the baggage was not delivered for 45 minutes. There was then a long queue for airport taxis with only a trickle of taxis that came along. So all told it took over 2 hours to get baggage and a taxi home. This is made worse by the fact that the airport has bought over a rival car park making it uneconomical to park now at the airport where a trip is longer than a day. What utterly awful service from a monopoly on air travel. The operator should be ashamed.

SHAMBLES

We arrived on Monday 03 July on the last flight with KLM from Amsterdam. The aircraft arrived on time and we all go ready to disembark.
1 - The pilot then informed us there was no-one available to put the steps to the aircraft for this to happen and they "would find someone"!
2 - Passport control was rather slow but kept moving. OK we thought luggage would be there when we went through
3 - How wrong can you be. The luggage belt had not even started, I am assuming they flight was full as there were a lot of people waiting in the baggage reclaim. A young girl/woman was sat on a seat in the corner of the baggae hall doing absolutely nothing, some other airport worker came and spoke to her and went off. (She continued to do nothing for the time we were contained in this space). Still no information on the luggage. One of the passenger spoke to her and asked for information - ??? Well we have had 4 flights - that is hardly the fault of the passengers, the airport knew they were due in; could the relevant number of staff be put in place to facilitate - it isn't exctly rocket science. After approximately 45 minutes, being generous here, the belt finally started to move and the luggage arrived.

This airport was a complete shamble from the moment we landed, the only bright person we met was the guy who took our passports. We had had a long and tiring day and our taxi had to wait untill the debacle was resolved. We eventually arrived home at 01.30 instead of the midnight we were hoping for
Thanks Aberdeen, shame there is no other place to go.

Uncontrolled Exploitation

My review is concerning the airport short term car park, which has a charging policy designed to rip off customers. £5 for 20 minutes, which escalates to £45 very quickly. I left my car there this morning at 8 am and when I collected it at 3:30 the charge was £45. The car park was about 30% capacity. This exploitation should be controlled.
