Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

I purchased my first wheelchair today after speaking with Lindsey from the Newport Shropshire branch last week. I visited today. Accepting that I need one has been a tough decision. Lindsay made me so comfortable and understood my needs quickly and professionally.

Admitting that you need a mobility scooter is not a pleasant experience.
I went to Ableworld, Newport & stood surrounded by mobility equipment. Then I saw Tilly with a big smile & a welcome. I knew which scooter I wanted & she brought it out & the fun began. Tilly made everything bearable & she knew everything about all the products.
I didn't buy the scooter I thought I wanted. Thanks to her advice I chose a very stable & handsome one which was much more suitable for me.
We had a lovely morning with lots of laughter. My scooter is in the garage & I went to have a look at it before I wrote this review. I don't think of it as a backward step but an open door to more things that I can do which have been closed to me.
Tilly was part of this conclusion & I am very grateful to her,
Thank you Tilly,
Regards,
Bee Phelps.

Visited your Newport store to purchase a electric recliner chair. On entering store we were left a while to have a browse round. Then Lindsey the manageress came over and asked if we needed help. She showed us chairs and was very knowledgeable about which was best for my needs. We weren't pressured at all,she was at the time training a new member of staff and asked if we minded him going through the forms for the purchase. (Which was fine) All in all a very pleasant shopping experience. Will highly recommend anyone else to visit.

I contacted Ableworld Newport on Tuesday morning as our lift and recline chair had stopped operating correctly. I was given an appointment for an engineer to attend on Thursday morning. Alex the engineer arrived promptly and carried out a full inspection of the chair and diagnosed the fault and carried out the necessary repair to rectify it. Alex was very courteous and knowledgable about the product he was repairing. I wish every company where able to attend and repair their equipment so promptly and efficiently. Thanks Alex.

Lindsay was so wonderful, she helped to get my dad all of the things he needed in the right height for him, she was knowledgeable, gave great advice, and wanted everything to be perfect for dad. She took her time, never rushed us, nothing was ever too much and included him in everything! Was a great experience, would definitely recommend!

The problem is not so much the company but a product they sell, a reclining chair i bought creaks going up and down, its very irritating, an engineer has been out twice but still the same, now my warranty has run out, i would not recommend these chairs or maybe i'm just unlucky, paying £1,400 for the chair i don't expect any problem.

Alex Turner was the engineer who attended our home to replace the handset and a couple of casters on my wife's recliner chair, which she uses 24/7. He was punctual, polite, wore the corporate clothing, had all the parts he needed and worked quickly and efficiently. Those attributes moved my score from 3 to 4 stars, the initial assessment being based on a prolonged delay between ordering and paying for the replacement parts and them being fitted, due to the wrong parts being ordered in the first place.

I have been to able world in Newport a few times now and the staff are very helpful. It was lovely today to go in and see jacqui who I brought my first scooter from, she is very helpful and made sure I was happy with my purchase. The gentleman in there is equally as nice but I’m not sure of his name. I’ve now been named Mrs Three scooters 🤦♀️🤣

We went into the store in Newport Shropshire today, to look for wide fitting sandals and slippers for me as I suffer from lymphedema. There was an assistant standing at the desk, whilst two of her colleagues were helping another customer pay. We asked where we could find the footwear and she pointed into the corner and remained at the desk. We noticed there were no slippers in my size, so we asked the same assistant again and she went to a different part of the store, found my size and then went back to the desk again. She did not appear to be serving anybody, but just told me "I'd have to wait" There was no sense of customer service and I felt undervalued. The slippers did not fit me, so we had to go to the desk again. She curtly told us the ones I had tried on had to be quarantined. At no time did this assistant offer to help and did not appear to be serving anybody else, or if she was she did not say.
Due to this experience I very much doubt we will be using this store again

Firstly I would like to say a big 'Thank You' to Sarah & to Pete, for their help & assistance with a 4 wheel walker for my Mum. Nothing was to much trouble in setting up the height of the walker for my Mum. First rate service with a smile 😃 Thanks again.
