The CEO Daniel handled my Uncle’s remains right from day 1, repatriation to Ghana and till burial. He handled him with a lot of respect and care. He explained every step of the process with us and was with us the whole way. He went above and beyond our expectations and was ever present whenever we called. I would recommend Abney Funeral Services to anyone any day. If you need a stress free and flawless funeral for your loved one, please use them.

Abney’s funeral service has been consistently praised for their professionalism and care. They always make sure that the bereaved family is comfortable and well-informed, even when they are dealing with the difficult and challenging process of registering the deceased. The director, Daniel, is highly praised for his ability to connect with the family and for providing quality services at a fair price. Abney Funeral services is a wonderful, caring thoughtful and sensitive company. Each and every member of staff looked after my father and provided him with the dignity and respect he deserved. Daniel and his staff went the extra mile when looking after my father and organising viewings and arrangements on the day. I would highly recommend their services. I would like to make a special thanks to Nonja, Elizabeth and owner Daniel for all their support during this process.

Abney's go above and beyond. Attention to detail is their forte. I found Elizabeth and Nonja, engaging, sympathetic and warm. The day of the funeral the undertaker's professionalism was more than we could have asked for. Nothing was too much, even changing order of service at the last minute before we entered the church. I would not hesitate in recommending Abney's as they are flexible and accommodating. Albert you are a gem!

A tribute to Daniel and ALL his team at Abney Funeral Directors, Stoke Newington, for their professionalism, attention to every little detail, tenderness towards all the family throughout our engagement and the TOTAL RESPECT and DIGNITY offered to my deceased father-in-law. Simply put, Daniel and his team did their job with such fineness, grace and dignity, that it allowed us the family to be present in the moment as we bid farewell to our loved one. To all the Abney team, for all that you did to accommodate our needs and deliver a very smooth operation on the day - a BIG THANK YOU.

Would I recommend Abney, 300% yes I would! I have every confidence that whoever goes with Abney will experience the same very high level of professionalism as our family did. Abney - for me you are the Gold standard by which all other funeral directors should be measured.

I lost my beautiful sister, being Nigerian there’s a tradition where parents don’t bury their child. So I was lost on what to do and how to do it. We lost someone else close to our family a few weeks prior and we were recommended Daniel and his team, as he also did their funeral. From the first conversation with Daniel I knew we were in good hands, as he was sympathetic to my loss but also detailed on what my next steps were and what I should do and how I should do it. He actually assisted me with the whole funeral and also left me in the hands of his awesome team who also helped me. He understood that I had another sister in Dubai so his P.A Nonja organised a conference meeting for all of us to be on that call so it would help me lay out all the plans in one go without going back and fourth. Aunty Matilda helped me with my sisters body in the dressing up and also in the beautiful makeup she had on for her final resting place on this Earth; my sister looked gorgeous, just as I know she would’ve loved it. (She was very particular) lol. All I can say is thank you; the day had a level of elegance because of the standard of Daniel and his team. To the point that as we got home family & friends spoke fondly of our funeral directors and how professional they were. I am truly grateful and thankful for the whole Abney Funeral Directors. Thank you for making my sisters day memorable and thank you for the support in grief and also the love you rendered to my family and I. The experience with Abney Funeral Services was a good one, although it was a very difficult period loosing my mother, the help and service provided was first class. Daniel and the staff were very understanding and showed genuine compassion throughout. Words can't describe how grateful I am for the help from Abney Funeral Services and would recommend everyone that looses a close one to count on them.

These guys are the absolute best. I used them for my dad in June 2019 following a referral from my niece who used them when her grandma on her dad's side when she passed away. I recently referred them to a family friend who used them recently and the service is still amazing. We live in Manchester and they served us despite the distance. I'll be recommending them to everyone and anyone. We need more funeral directors like these guys. They're simply the best!!

It has taken me so long to write this review because I couldn't think of all the words to thank Abney Funeral Services.

My Dad passed away suddenly during the pandemic in January 2021 and I was referred to Abney Funeral Services by a close family member.

I had already reached out to Funeral directors in my local area and those calls felt very transactional. One call to Daniel and I knew that this was the company I was going to go with. For someone who had no clue where to start, I was given a step by step overview of what to expect. During the pandemic there were so many factors that differed from company to company and one of the things I was worried about was around embalming and how my Dad would be cared for, especially where the death count was so high. All my questions were answered, and in layman terms so that I felt confident to relay what was to be expected to my family.

The packages were clear and I knew what to expect before and during the day.

Our first visit to the chapel of rest and my Dad looked like he was sleeping. I could tell he was well looked after and if he could have told us that he was happy with how he was looked after, he would have. At a time where the world was so chaotic around us, with so much uncertainty, our Dad was at peace.

I never (we never), felt out of the know. The team were excellent (and a special shout out to Klaudia and Jamal).

Even after the service, those who could attend could not stop paying compliments to the professionalism of the whole team.

I cannot thank them enough for making this experience seamless.

Thanks very much to you all at Abney Funeral Services for your care and professionalism from the start to finish in the arrangement of my step father Harold Mason's Funeral on the 1st September 2021. You were recommend by a family member, My mum dealt with you all and she was relieved as you made the process easy for her and explained everything in detail taking away the stresses and worries especially such a sad time for her.
Going to the viewing we were impressed with your team in the office who had such a caring and understanding manner. My step father looked very dignified and you dressed him very well according to our wishes. On the day of the funeral you arrived on time and made sure everyone was aware of what was happening at each stage. Our driver Tony was very polite and a real gentleman. All the team were truly professional. I was surprised in the cemetery that you even had chairs for people to sit. I would definitely recommend your services for your care, understanding and professionalism. Thank you all.

My Dad passed away and it was our first time arranging a funeral. Daniel explained the whole process in order of what needs to be done. Daniel allowed us to ask any questions and answered them straight away. Other members of the team also kept in touch to arrange for example, our visit to see Dad and printing the order of service etc. On the day the funeral proved to be very well organised and all who attended said that my Dad had a lovely send off. I feel honoured to have had such a remarkable company take care of my father in his last days on earth before being laid to rest. I was referred to Abney by someone who had used their services 3 times in the past and I can easily say that I won’t be using any other funeral service again.

Everything about Abney ooze humane professionalism. In a time where everything seems so chaotic, Abney provided a calm and quiet after the storm. Their streamlined service meant we didn’t have to worry about anything (and I am typically a perfectionist) my desire for detail and perfection was met every time, and for that, my family and I are truly grateful.

Even within a pandemic with all of its uncertainties and heightened workload, we were still treated with the care and sensitivity that was far above my expectations. When I saw my father (a month after his passing), it was as though he was merely asleep so much so that it brought me to tears (they took astonishingly good care of him). All was transparent and made clear from the beginning, and no request was too big. Their service gave a sense of family and I absolutely adore this of them.

I will continue to refer and sing their praises because they are simply that good.

Keep up the exceptional work Abney, your service and care is one of a kind.

I am truly impressed with the service that we received from Abney Funeral Services following the death of my dad. They make a difficult time in anyone’s life a little more bearable. I recently lost my sister in law and had the privilege of securing the services of Abney Funeral Services for her burial.

The respect accorded to my sister-in-law from when she was picked up from the mortuary at the Hospital throughout to her burial service was extraordinary.

Abney Funeral Services’ good communication and listening skills ensured effective planning and a seamless process.

The family’s anxiety about the funeral was quickly allayed as they talked us through the process and accommodated the family’s views and wishes.
