Failed Inspection, Then Charged Me for Their Mistake

I had impact-rated hurricane windows installed by Absolute Window LLC about 3 years ago, and the experience has been frustrating from the start.

The initial installation failed inspection because the required fasteners were missing. That alone tells you the job was not done correctly the first time. They came back afterward to add the missing screws, which should have been done properly from day one.

Now, about 2 years later, one of the windows developed a center glass “stress crack.” Instead of standing behind their work, they are claiming it falls under a 1-year manufacturer's warranty and want to charge me $750 for a replacement sash.

Let’s be clear:
These are impact-rated hurricane windows. A properly installed unit should not randomly crack under normal conditions. The more likely cause is the original improper installation and the corrective work that followed, which can introduce stress into the frame over time.

Rather than taking responsibility, they are pushing the cost onto the customer.

I gave them the opportunity to make this right, but instead, they defaulted to warranty language and a discounted invoice.

If you’re considering Absolute Window LLC, just understand this:
If something goes wrong later that can be tied back to installation, don’t expect them to own it.

Proceed with caution.
