Acclaimed HW are liars

I have had Acclaimed Home Warrenty for two years now. I have 3 claims with them. All three have had issues. The first issue was our AC and it didn’t cover the issue which was a clogged line. We just bought the house and it passed inspection. We don’t understand how it got clogged in 3 months. Paid for the service and paid for the correction. They didn’t pay. The second was this year and it was the hot water heater. This one I found out they ONLY cover the tank and the labor for the tank. They do not cover the lines that have to be replaced and there is a new retrofit that has to be installed to meet code. This cost me an additional $800. I found out they do not cover any updates or any parts other than the main component. The last one is the clincher, and this is where I have learned what they are doing. When we bought the house I stated it had a pool with three pumps and that this is all 15 years old. The agent stated that for an additional $85 they would cover it. Awesome. Well my pump is going out. Or the controller to it and that part is not covered. Though they said the cover the timer and on/off button the don’t cover the actual board. Does that make sense. Bottom line their sales department will tell you the cover items but in the end they don’t cover much at all. This is a horrible company to deal with. Buyer beware. They do not cover what they say. They will use their lengthy contract to cover up what they do and don’t cover.

BAD EXPERIENCE WITH ACCLAIMED HW. BEWARE.

I have had 2 bad experiences: I had my water heater replaced and expected some upcharge, in addition to the $75 fee, but in total I ended up paying around $700! This included a second man who stood around and played on his phone most of the time as I watched. Now I have 2 outside hose bibs leaking and on the computer website which is what I looked at to choose, Texas, Ultimate Coverage, outside hose bibs are covered. The employee today said they are not, look at your contract. Very surprised to see this is excluded in the contract which you don't get to see until you sign up! It is FALSE ADVERTISING to have this on the website (on my computer) and not cover in actuality. This is dishonest and deceptive. I have had this coverage for 2 years and this has been on their website at least this long. SHAME SHAME.
