Accolade Moving & Storage is a scam operation
Accolade Moving & Storage (USDOT Number: 3368345; MC Number: 1079608) is not a professional moving service, they are not accredited by BBB nor a member of professional industrial associations. It is purely profit motivated and operates mechanically with deceptive trade practices without boundaries of law. It is evident, from personal experience and as well as seen from many one star on-line reviews, each game player is taking a role in the scam logistics from marketing to loss/damage claim: the sales set the low ball estimate bait then disappear, dispatch doesn’t honor the binding estimate, exploiting consumer vulnerability, and forcing contract signatures paying overcharge under duress, careless transport and unreliable delivery, violating federal regulations in damage claim handling and non-compliant for 120 day response/settlement requirement. Outrageously, Accolade moving rejected proposal from CSI insurance adjuster and stopped normal claim processing for my submitted claim, refusing to offer a settlement and are non-responsive. This business has no respect for federal regulations, professional liability, and customer rights.
1. False advertising and low ball bait scam
The website is very professionally sound. The sales representatives are skillful in setting up the low ball bait trap then disappears completely after collect a large deposit, leaving consumers in a complete dark situation as nothing was the same as previously agreed.
2. Not honoring the written binding estimate; overcharge to the 144% of binding estimate on my moving day, even the moving inventory list (125 total items) is less than the estimate (139 total items). When the cost from estimate differs by a large increase of 44%, it’s evident of a scam.
3. Forcing signatures under duress on moving day and by holding household possessions “hostage” en route in order to force customer to pay overcharged amount. It is important to highlight that we signed the bill of lading contract and revised written estimate unwillingly under duress. The overcharge amount is unlawful and we are entitled to receive a overcharge refund with an open apology from Accolade Moving.
4. Failing to follow COVID-19 Safety Mandates during pandemic, especially Mask Mandates at customer's home
5. Truck unavailable for requested delivery date and extensive damages resulted from careless moving transit.
6. Violating Federal Regulations and contract liability in damage claim handling: I submitted a claim on 11/1/2020 to CSI as instructed by Accolade office, for extensive damages of 17 items (furniture and belongings) totaled at least $3795 [refer to Claim ID 998-2095 (S/O # Ac8809112)]. Accolade Moving failed to respond to submitted claim within 120 days (as required by the federal regulations). Outrageously, Accolade management denied Claims Adjuster proposal from CSI and stopped normal damage claim processing on 3/8/2021. My claim is outstanding for 4 ½ months to date and ongoing.
7. Refuse to provide process for customer complaints and non-responsive for damage claim settlement. Accolade has been non-responsive to my multiple e-mails and phone calls in continued follow-up for submitted damage claim to date. The management is manipulative, using the first-line customer service as a blocking fire wall and play a run-around game. Accolade refused to provide me its process and contact names for customer complaint. These dismissive behaviors are sending a clear message of an unwillingness to cooperate in settling a damage claim and bilking intentionally. This business offers no customer service, professional liability, and quality assurance.
This business operates without a moral standard nor ethically creditable. Accolade Moving willfully violating the federal regulations and consumer rights. Federal and State agencies should investigate and taking disciplinary actions to stop deceptive trade practices for consumer protection.
