Wouldn’t return

Came in as an emergency patient on the Monday for severe wisdom tooth pain where they assessed and X-rayed. Then went to my regular dentist the day after and was referred to Heatherwood for an xray. Of course Heatherwood couldn’t conduct another xray due to the radiation which is understandable and they suggest I contact acorn for the scans. 13:14 I called and emailed and they said they would send it over. 14:12 still nothing so call again and was told the doctor was on lunch and would be around an hour. 16:00 now the lovely staff at the NHS called Acorn on my behalf asking if they could have the scans as it had almost been 3 hours and I am in the waiting area in agony and abruptly told them that they will send it. 16:30 my partner goes down to ask them what the delay was. Didn’t even let her in the building spoke through the glass and rudely said that it would be sent ‘before 5pm’. 16:45 scans finally sent. Acorn are fine when you’re in there and will happily try upsell you other services but when it comes to the well being of their patients. Rubbish. I was considering getting wisdom tooth out with them. Absolutely not a chance now.

Outstanding, highly-skilled and personable dentist, supported by a brilliant team.

As a very nervous dental patient, finding the right dentist has always been important to me. Since discovering Acorn Dental Care and Dr Narinder Sehra, I honestly wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Dr Sehra is incredibly skilled - he’s an impressively talented practitioner, with the latest technology. That said, what really stands out is how much he genuinely cares about his patients’ wellbeing. He always takes the time to make me feel comfortable and reassured. This extra attentiveness and personal touch has made a huge difference to my experience.
The whole practice puts patients first, and the standard of dentistry I’ve received has been the best I’ve ever had.
A special mention also to Nina, the Practice Manager, who is always so helpful, a real joy to talk with, and she does everything in her power to make sure you’re seen and looked after at all times.
It has been a pleasure to be a patient here, and I can’t recommend Acorn Dental Care highly enough, especially for anyone who feels anxious about visiting the dentist.

Dear Mr Hussain, I am disappointed that you feel you had a negative experience at our practice. For the purpose of clarification, you walked into the dental practice unannounced as you were in pain. You did not book your appointment online and you did not phone the practice prior to turning up. My staff and I accommodated you and you were seen promptly and you are fully aware I had other patients waiting. You last attended the dental practice 2 years ago and you left without having the dental treatment that was advised. Since than you have been to Turkey to have your dental treatment. You were fully advised of the fee for the consultation and x-rays in advance and you accepted these. You informed me that you had dental treatment in Turkey to include a root canal treatment on the LL7 tooth. After doing the intra-oral examination and assessing the x-ray it was evident the root canal you had done in Turkey had failed and the root canal on the LL6 tooth was also failing. After explaining to you why you were in pain I discussed options with you. I advised you the teeth in all fairness had to be extracted if you wanted immediate pain relief and these teeth could be replaced in 3-4 months with dental implants. You chose to have antibiotics and I advised you they may not work. You did not want and could not afford the dental treatment that was required. It is highly likely you are still in pain and hence the negative review you have posted. Please be reassured we are happy to help you with the treatment required and we do offer 0% finance options. Please contact Nina on 07767808999 if you would like to discuss options further. Regards, Dr N Sehra & Team

Emergency appointment during Xmas…

Emergency appointment during Xmas period. I was seen quickly and this was great but before I even sat in the chair I was told I needed X-rays. How he knew this without seeing inside my mouth I have no clue… next I was told I needed conscious sedation for tooth extraction and that is my only option. I wasn’t given antibiotics or any other treatment. This would have cost £700. I luckily trusted my gut and did not go ahead with this. The emergency appointment and X-rays cost me £140.

I went to my regular dentist after the new year period who charged me £40 for the appointment and also cleaned the area to prevent infection, took X-rays and gave me a prescription for antibiotics. 2 weeks later my dentist took the wisdom tooth out within 20 mins and charged £150 and used local anaesthetic.

I would not trust this dentist at all. The receptionist was also rude and only bothered about taking payment and closing time.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your negative experience and would like to address your concerns.

You were fully informed prior to your appointment we are a fully private practice. During your emergency visit, we did discuss the need for X-rays to better understand the situation and ensure accurate treatment. It’s standard practice to take X-rays in cases like yours, even before a full examination, to identify any underlying issues that may not be visible. This approach is meant to ensure that we provide the best possible care and avoid any unforeseen complications.

Regarding your tooth extraction, we explained the potential need for conscious sedation based on your specific situation. We always strive to offer the safest treatment options, and sedation is sometimes recommended for certain procedures. We do understand that you opted not to proceed with the recommended treatment, but it was presented as an option after explaining the circumstances. We’re glad to hear that your follow-up care went well with your regular dentist.

As for the cost, it is typical for emergency appointments to be priced differently, and we aim to provide transparent pricing for all services. We’re sorry to hear about your experience with our receptionist although your allegations are not accepted.

Your feedback is important to us, and we hope you continue to find the dental care you deserve. If you have any further concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Hygene issues putting patients in danger.

I attended this dental surgery with Mr Sehrh on wed 14th August 2024 for an emergency dental appointment as a tooth had a filling missing which simply needed to be filled in. ****Beware because this dentist in google reviews can often claim the patient did not attend the surgery so the reader thinks the person posting the review made a mistake.***To be clear I attended Mr Sehrh Acorn Dentistry 82 Moorbridge Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 8BW.
I wanted a simple filling but was told I needed a complete mouth x-ray scan before he could do anything and this was going to cost £95.00. His behaviour was both ignorant and arrogant, he told me to open my mouth in order to inspect my teeth and said “I see gaps” In my opinion to him this meant implants and lots of money to be charged to the patient was all he was interested in.
He brought me around to his x-ray scanner and told me to bite on the piece of plastic which is a part of the machine. This plastic was bare and unprotected. He should in fact have a plastic disposable bag covering it and this should be thrown away each time a patient uses the scanner. I googled it later and had my thoughts confirmed. This dentist did not care if I caught Covid or any other disease from another customer.
He then told me to stay in the waiting room as he served another patient before me……I was astounded as my filling was not a deep root filling it was only a scratch on the top so no need for any waiting time for the injection to work. In fact when I did eventually go to another dentist he did not even inject me and simply filled the tooth.
When put back in the waiting room I got up and left, emailed the surgery when I got home but they did not reply or even try to charge me for the treatment. I wrote a complaint to Frimley NHS:
Southeast complaints Frimley NHS

I would suggest if anyone is asked to take an x-ray with no plastic bag covering they too email Frimley NHS as this dentist needs to be stopped.
May God bless and protect us all.

Dear Mr Marcelin, you came to our practice in pain. you were fully informed before you came to our practice that we are a private practice and we do not offer treatment on the NHS. you chose to come to the to the practice. we listened to your dental issue. with your consent we took a x-ray and you were informed of the fee for this X-ray prior to taking it. after diagnosis we discussed various options and you chose to have the treatment we discussed. the fee was quoted. Local anaesthetic administered and you were asked to wait in reception. this was the last we saw of you as you left the practice unannounced without paying any fees. you have complained to all the authorities but your complaint has no basis and has been ignored. the simple truth is you were not able to afford the dental treatment at our practice. we wish you well.

Acorn Dental Care in Maidenhead

Acorn Dental Care in Maidenhead, Berkshire, was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in April.
Among the issues raised were ineffective procedures for cleaning equipment and the presence of out-of-date medicines.
Acorn Dental Care has been approached for a response.
Inspectors found the practice did not ensure equipment was safe to use and infection control procedures were not operated effectively.
They also found treatment rooms had remnants of surgical drapes stuck to walls.
The CQC report highlighted instruments not being inspected for debris after being manually cleaned before being placed in the steriliser.
Out-of-date medicines were found to be present and sharps bins were on the floors of every treatment room posing a risk to staff and patients.
Inspectors also said immediate improvement was needed to ensure equipment was available and able to be located quickly in a medical emergency.
Issues over staff recruitment were raised, including missing references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check not being carried out.
There were also problems with the servicing of heating and air conditioning.
"The practice had not effectively implemented systems to assess, monitor and manage risks to patient and staff safety," the report said.
It concluded the practice must "establish effective systems and processes to ensure good governance in accordance with the fundamental standards of care".

Do not recommend.

Do not recommend.
The receptionist was abrupt and only seemed interested in credit card details.

£45 for emergency dental app. Was told worst case scenario problem but difficult to know as I completely had no trust in the dentist. Nearly £500 for 20 min work and a filling. The filling completely broke down three days later. Total waste of time. Do not go here unless you’ve got a huge credit card.

Acorn Dental is the worst dental…

Acorn Dental is the worst dental facility that I have ever gone too. They did a scaling and planing a while back. It was the worst procedure I have ever had. The person who botched the job actually fractured a tooth that had to be removed I reported it to management to know avail
I was in pain for 6 months and my mouth still isn’t right on top of that they made me pay for the extraction

Next they filled two front teeth and that was botched
The clinic discharged me because they didn’t like what I had to say pertaining to a grant. Yes I was a bit loud but they just came up with excuse after excuse as to why I was not excepted in their program. After all of that the 2 fillings they last did for me have fallen out, leaving my mouth in terrible condition when I called the clinic and told them of the botched job they did they didn’t care I was told to find another dentist they would not stand behind their work and told me to find another dentist o am no longer a patient. Keep in mind I am a disabled Viet Nam Veteran with little income. They knew this and still refused to correct their mistake
Today is May 20th 2024 and I am sitting here in pain with no solution to resolve my problem.
Again to reiterate they are the absolute worst and don’t care about helping a patient with my problem when they caused it
I can go on and on but I think whoever reads this will get the picture
