This app is so great! Great way to make my daughter responsible with her money!

This app is so great! It teaches my 8 year old daughter how to be responsible with money. She gets her allowance added onto the account and then I transfer her money to her card for her to have. She is just too excited to have her own debit card! This app allows me to see all the account activity she has been doing on her card and allows me to set up automatic weekly payments to pay my daughter her $10 a week allowance that way I don't forget to add it. This app is going to help my daughter learn about keeping money and how to use her card the correct way and just be all around responsible with money so she can take all that she learned from this into adulthood with her.

Horrible experience

Not good, they couldn’t help me activate my grandson’s new card after he lost his first card. I was on calls for 3 days without success. Go Henry was great, never had any issues for several years. I closed my account and will seek another company for my kiddos banking experience. Miss you Go Henry, I told everyone about them. Early Acorn charged the monthly fee with no problem 2 days prior to my horrible interactions but couldn’t assist successfully to activate my babies account , the children enjoyed having their own cards.

Missing funds debited from bank

I have funds ($1,500) that were debited from my bank account immediately and never showed up in the acorn app. Called customer service 3 times and waited 10 days for this to be resolved and now have to work with my bank to recover funds that were never deposited. The customer service told me each time this was taken care of and now it is starting to feel like a scam.

Why must we be charged

I don’t like the fact that we have to be charged now to use the service. When it was GoHenry there wasn’t a fee charged to us just to be active on the app. Now that’s it’s switched we are being charged a monthly service fee.

**The Importance of Personalized Customer Service**

Customer service by phone is very important to me. Being able to speak with a live person makes it easier to ask questions, get clear answers, and feel that my concerns are truly being heard and valued. A live representative can provide personalized assistance and help resolve issues more effectively than relying only on automated systems.

Don’t trust Acorns Early with your child’s money

I’m not sure if Acorns Early has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced or if this is a case of deceptive financial practice. I’ve been calling customer service all week. They make false promises. When I’ve asked to talk to a supervisor or upper management, I was told multiple times that no supervisor is available and told I would get a call back. Never happened. I emailed. No response. There is NO way to get beyond the horrible customer service. They have my daughter’s hard earned money. She was saving to buy a car and we can’t access the money, and there is no explanation. I’ve placed a dozen calls. I get an apology and a promise to send my concerns to their ‘special team’ who will expedite the transfer and told my daughter’s money will be in our bank account tomorrow. And nothing happens, day after day. I’ve had an Acorns account for years. My daughter and I have had a GoHenry (Acorns Early) account for years. No more. This is what happens when customer service is contracted out. Either upper management doesn’t know what’s happening, they’re part of it, or they just don’t care. None are acceptable.

The Acorn Early Kids Debit Card is a Genius Way To give All of Your Kids Money and Teach them how to use Debit Cards in Today's Society s

My Experience With Acorn Early was Awesome. I did not understand the debit card at first and then customer service explained it to me and walked me through it. Now I have a Debit card for all of my kids. Even the 6 year old. I love it. ❤️ I can login to my Acorn Early app as a Parent then add a large sum of money or little money, my choice then I can transfer portions of the money to each child's debit card. For example: if I have 6 kids I can order all 6 kids a debit card individually then add money to each one of their cards as a allowance or reward for the good behavior or work they do around the house etc. Then they can use their card for any shopping , like Target or Roblox or Walmart or The Corner Store etc. This Acorn Early Card System is Brilliant, I love it.

Top Notch

Their customer service is top notch. The ability to track what my child spends and to teach them how to spend money responsibly has been a great benefit.

Can't get my daughters money...Please save yourself headaches

Please don't download this app. My kids had over $600 saved in their account and now they are older teens and we decided to get them a regular debit card. I closed the account and was told our money would be refunded in 3-5 business days. I called in a week later, (Still no money). They said to wait longer. Then I get an email saying they need my banking information. I reluctantly gave them this, and they said it would be another 3-5 business days. I have called 6 more times asking for a supervisor or any additional help and every person tells me the same thing. They will escalate my case to a supervisor and have them call me. No one ever does. Do not waste your time or money with this app. You will not get any money refunded to you. My next step is to see an attorney to help with this, which is extremely frustrating! My recommendation is to get your child a teen venmo account. We are using this now and it works so much better than this app!

In response to their reply below….this is the number I call everyday, I’m anxiously awaiting your phone call that they promise me every time I call!

I can see how it would have a 4.2, initially

I can see how it would have a 4.2. It is a 4.2 until you need something or have an issue. Daughter was school shopping and it wouldn't let me deposit $150 without it pending for days. So I tried again. Now $300 pending. So I did less, went through fine but then hit a daily total limit. Spent hours trying to get through to talk to a person. No chat. Email takes days. Finally someone called me back and couldn't stop the pending deposits told me my bank would. Local bank couldn't see it yet and told me to get a hold of them when it's pending on my bank account. Next morning it was paid, no pending. They couldn't reverse it at that point. Now I'm trying to cancel at the $300 isn't accounted for in my refund and the canceling process takes about a week and once again I cant get a hold of a person. Business practices like this belong in the dark ages, not 2026

App works great. The card, not all the time!

We love this card and the app works great! The only issue is our card doesn't always work when we try to use for in store purchases.

Acorn is trustworthy

Acorn is trustworthy. I've been with them for about 8 months and my account has been growing. I can see where my money is going and that gives me the excitement to save more. I have not withdrawn anything since I opened the account but to my understanding, Acorn doesn't charge for withdrawals but you may have to pay taxes.
