Cecil Williams Sweatshirt
I purchased the Cecil Williams sweatshirt from Actively Black, and I'm really impressed. It's 100% cotton, which makes it super soft and comfortable to wear. The design is also really pretty. Plus, l've been getting a lot of compliments since started wearing it, which is always a bonus. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this sweatshirt to anyone looking for a stylish and statement piece! ❤️

I’m going to give them a two because customer service SUCKS!!! Love the product and I’ve ordered numerous items as gifts but an order placed march 6,2026 I’m still waiting for a refund. I ordered shorts and a hooded tee and I was billed. I added another shorts and tee different size and was billed for 4 items. Now I have a duplicate order. Returned the duplicate with one set because it didn’t fit. Got a refund for the one that didn’t fit but nothing for the duplicate order. Customer service does not respond.
I ordered a Allen Iverson Sweatshirt…
I ordered a Allen Iverson Sweatshirt and they send me a Black Basketball and they change my order in my email to reflect I ordered a basketball, I’m smarter than that I have a Snap-Shot of my original order. (Highly Illegal)
There customer service is virtually non-existent, these are the type of situations that class-action lawsuits are made of, If they can’t correct my order this is the direction I’m headed.
what it delivers in product quality is too wide.
If a brand asks customers to invest not just money, but belief, then the expectation should be higher, not lower. Right now, the gap between what Actively Black stands for and what it delivers in product quality is too wide.
I wanted this brand to succeed, and I supported it heavily. But after repeated issues across multiple purchases, it’s hard to justify continuing to spend money here.
Actively Black has the potential to be great—but until quality control and durability improve, the product simply doesn’t match the price or the purpose.
I’ve invested over $5,000 into Actively Black because I genuinely believed in the brand’s mission and what it represents. Supporting a company that reinvests into the community mattered to me. But at some point, the product has to match the message—and in my experience, it hasn’t.
Multiple items I’ve purchased have fallen apart due to clear design and quality issues. The adhesive used in several pieces has come undone, pockets have become unstitched, and overall durability has been extremely disappointing. This isn’t normal wear and tear—this is premature failure.
What’s even more concerning is that this wasn’t limited to lower-tier items. Even the luxury (“Lux”) line, which should represent the highest standard of quality, felt subpar and began deteriorating within a month. That raises serious concerns about quality control.
To make matters worse, I purchased a handbag that broke within two weeks. At this price point, that’s simply unacceptable.
Let’s be honest about something:
A strong mission can bring people in—but it cannot excuse poor execution.
Exceptional product quality undermined by poor and confrontational customer service
I have been a repeat customer of this brand and genuinely believe they make some of the best athletic shirts on the market. The material, fit, and durability rival or exceed major brands like Nike and Under Armour. Unfortunately, I won’t be purchasing from them again.
I ordered sweatsuits during the holiday period and understood that delays can happen. However, after a prolonged wait and limited communication, the company sent a mass email explaining delays. What stood out was the lack of accountability or apology. The message largely framed the issue as something customers should accept due to the company being a small Black-owned business.
At that point, I requested a refund. After several emails and a follow-up with no response, I disputed the charge through my credit card, which is the appropriate step when a merchant goes unresponsive. Days later, the product shipped anyway, despite the dispute already being open.
Weeks after that, I received an unexpected phone call from the CEO around 9:00 PM. Initially, I thought this was an effort to resolve the issue personally. Instead, the conversation focused on how chargebacks hurt small Black-owned businesses and that customers should “give grace.” He also stated this situation happens every year and acknowledged that customer service was overwhelmed. He also says I wasnt the only one he called and that a lot of people were giving him chargebacks - you'd think he would recognize that problem is systemic, not the customer being unreasonable. During the conversation, he stated that he was essentially one person handling thousands of emails and asked, “What would you have me do?” I replied, “You’re the CEO — that’s on you to figure out.” At that point, his tone shifted, and he abruptly ended the call.
I want to be very clear: I actively support Black-owned businesses and do so regularly. But cultural identity should never be used to deflect accountability or pressure customers into absorbing business failures. How a company handles conflict matters more than how it performs when everything goes well.
The products are excellent. The customer experience is not. Because of how this situation was handled, I can’t recommend shopping here again.

wife had ordered items from your company as a christmas gift, at present, it has not been sent nor
has she recieved any correspondence on the status of its package, PLEASE DO BETTER!!!....me and my family want to support black businesses, but being a business required to have some profesionalism on when supply breakdowns occur, this is not been a good first impression for your company, and until this issue has been resolved, I don't feel i can ever in good faith to recommend or to buy from THIS COMPANY again
Be patient
Be patient. You won’t be disappointed. Their apparel is amazing! I mean AMAZING! The quality, the colors… OMG! It’s worth the wait!

I ordered from Actively Black every Christmas for the past four years. This year my shipment was delayed but I received two emails from the owner explaining and apologizing for the delay. I love all their products and know they are worth the wait.
Terrible
Terrible, this company is terrible, they do not respond to emails, no way of contacting someone if you have a question. I placed an order 30 days ago and have not received it yet. They are always out of stock, I have never experienced anything like this before, stay far away from this company, such a disappointment.
Lack of communication
I purchased from Actively Black on October 11 2025 and they received their payment on October 13 2025. But as of now I haven't received my merchandise. This is so unfortunate. This company lacks communication. My holiday is now over.
DO BETTER!
I loved the T-shirt I ordered
I loved the T-shirt I ordered. Unfortunately the unisex joggers inexplicably ripped as if material was dry rotted. The fit was very loose so could not be attributed to a tight fit. This was on the first wear... So confused. I have not worn the hoodie yet.. hopefully it wears well. I don't think I will trust ordering again.

I ordered items a month ago and haven’t received any updates about it yet. When I use the virtual tracking nothing pulls up. The other alternative would be to download an app just to check the status. Expectations around timelines about orders wheter pre-order or not should be clear and upfront from the start. If everyone is relaying the same issue it’s not just everyone else. Instead of taking accountability and addressing what changes will be made to resolve this moving forward, there are complaints from the owner that we don’t read. Which only feeds into a negative stereotype as we support our own. People should be able to offer critique so that the business gets even better but that doesn’t feel welcomed here.
Everything was OUTSTANDING!
Everything was OUTSTANDING. I ordered on 10/6 and it arrived on 10/10. I received both email and text confirmations of the order, shipped date and arrival date. The Harvest I series is EXCEPTIONAL. The graphics, printing and quality of cotton...are STUNNING. I ordered 2 in black now I want the cream. The customer service and products really do represent EXCELLENCE. I highly recommend this company.
Ruined my Dad Birthday
I ordered from Actively black June 20, 2025 however as of August 2, 2025 I have not received my merchandise and they have not issued my refund.
Where's my stuff?
29 July 2025,
I ordered from Actively Black on 4 July 2025. $285 worth of merchandise. I have yet received a return email or merchandise. I'll be getting a refund from my credit card company. Too bad though, I had high hopes.
Read the reviews
I wish I would have read the reviews of this company before I spent my money. I should have known better when they snatched their money before my merchandise was shipped. I really want to support this company but they will have to improve their supply, shipping & customer service. Once I get my merchandise (which I ordered on 6/29 and as if this review have not received) I will not make another purchase. It should not take 4 wks & counting to get a cotton tee-shirt. So disappointed.
Quality product and customer service
Quality product and service. I've ordered from Actively Black three times and have always received my order within a week. I wouldn't trust the bad reviews because everyone that I know who placed orders had the same experience as myself.
5 Star product
I can’t believe this brand has 1 star reviews. I have over 20 pieces never had a problem. The quality is next level my original purchase pieces are still in great shape ( from 3 years ago). Shipping has always been fast. My only knock is they never brought back the grey t shirts. When they do I’m ordering 5.
Purchase with Caution
I still haven’t received my order… According to their website, orders take 24-48 hours to process and 3-5 business days to arrive. However, it's been nearly two weeks and I still haven't received mine.
I had high hopes for this company, especially given the importance of supporting Black-owned businesses. Unfortunately, the service fell short of my expectations. From now on, I'll prioritize companies that provide better customer service.
UPDATE: I received my order on 4/11/25—over two and a half weeks after placing it—and unfortunately, the quality did not match what some of the other reviews claimed. I ordered the black MJ shirt, and it looked like a poorly done screen print. The fabric was heavy and rough, and overall, it just wasn’t worth the price. I returned it immediately and requested a refund.
Come on man
I got a email saying that my package had arrived and nothing was sent. Im going to attempt to get a refund. Im petty and i will get a lawyer because it's the principle of it all.
