Terrible company and owner. Item I ordered had 3 delays and when it was finally scheduled for delivery (12 weeks later) their delivery company, Provia, stated it had failed to be collected. After chasing it up I received a response days later stating it has failed quality checks and has to be remade. 30 minutes after I received this email I cancelled it following my rights under the consumer rights act. Since then I have received many emails and WhatsApp message with a lot of lies on their part and them refusing a refund. I am only just giving a synopsis of this saga. My credit card is on the 2nd attempt to claim the money. The next stage for me is the ombudsman. DO NOT waste your time and money with these people. If I had the time I would write an essay on why you should. Also wait for the common response below of we tried this and we tried that etc etc.

We were attracted to the whole ethos of this sustainable Company. We eventually placed an order for two 60 cm rustic stools. The website provided clarity regarding lead times for delivery. They exceeded expectations actually and delivered well within the timeframe. Their communications were clear, correct and appropriate. Their choice of carrier was outstanding. The product is perfect! Absolutely beautiful. The 'imperfections' are the character and soul of the piece. As we become so accustomed to mass marketed 'perfection' this is a timely reminder of what true beauty and craftmanship looks like.

Awful company. Ordered a console table come absolutely nothing like photo on website. Complained and just got sent a little pot of clear wax and one sanding pad for an orbital sander. Do not waste your money with this company.

Good company to deal with. Fantastic website, easy ordering, fast delivery. Only comment is, a fraction expensive.

We recently ordered a rustic, chunky dining table for our new home. We were looking for something that would be a feature in the space and draw the eye, and Acumen delivered wonderfully.

Our table is beautiful, thick wood with natural knots embedded within. A smooth protected finish and it smells wonderful too. We can't wait to host people and use it for dining as well as game nights.

The team also went out of their way to assist us when contacted, so great customer service too. Very happy, thank you Acumen.

Delayed for 2 months, bullying customers service

Have recently purchased a five shelf unit from Acumen.

The quality is fantastic and just what I was looking for, however what really made them stand out was their customer service. I was missing one part to connect my shelf together, after a smooth communication with Emilia and Kim they were able to get my part to me so I could finally have the shelves up and ready to go. Nothing was too much trouble for them - even sending out two parts when the first one wasn’t quite right. I’d 100% recommend Acumen to anyone looking for good quality furniture and fantastic customer service.

From the start of my order to being delivered, was updated with the progress of my table, and delivery was made as expected in time slot allocated. Once delivered it was pretty straightforward to assemble, the quality is outstanding, very happy indeed and would highly recommend.

when it arrived it was lovely table and bench but a few months in the coating started peeling and i can not get in touch with them to rectify it

Delivery was a little long but the communication was good and very friendly.

The table is beautifully finished. The choice of sizes is great and the ability to have extendable leaves is great. The table was a couple of weeks late but the communication was excellent. The follow up call was a nice touch with some further tips & instructions. Only thing would have made things a bit easier would be the inclusion of illustrated instructions for the assembly. But overall a great experience & would highly recommend 😊

Just got an absolutely beautiful oak table from the signature section. The sun shines through the resin infused table, glowing different colours as the sun sets given it a warm living feeling. Extremely well made and great service from Michael, who call me directly. Great service customer service.

After a delay and mis communication, the customer service was excellent. Emilia went above and beyond in finding a solution and I am delighted with the dining table - it’s special ! I had to wait longer than expected but it is worth it .

I was a little unsure about ordering online at first and did a lot of back and forth trying to find exactly what I wanted. Acumen has a great website, which made it really easy to browse and compare the different styles.

Once I placed my order, I received regular updates, so I always knew where my order was up to. The shelving arrived extremely well packaged, with every area carefully protected to prevent any damage.

The shelving itself looks amazing, it’s solid, well manufactured and excellent quality. It looks perfectly at home in my living room and I’m really pleased with it.

I will definitely be purchasing from Acumen again in the future. Highly recommended.

very impressed with acumen , this is the third time i’ve ordered from them and the service is above and beyond as well as delivering beautiful products …my review is based on a custom shelf i ordered …after a few weeks of placing the order i received an email to say there was a slight delay in it going into production,i emailed back to get a time frame as we were due to go on holiday and couldn’t take delivery ….email was responded to immediately asking for my holiday dates and was assured it wouldn’t be sent out until i was back …i made a telephone call to double confirm and spoke to a
lovely customer service team member who was very helpful….however two days later they had started on my order and a week later was dispatched …i am so happy that i got it before i went away however even if it had been delayed the communication from acumen is spot on ….will definitely be my go to for handmade and reclaimed ..keep up the excellent work cant recommend highly enough

It was easy to order an Old Barn Rustic Elm Bath board and bath stool for my wife's birthday. Delivery was easy. The quality is excellent - very solid - and they do look very good. Transform the room. Built to a very high standard.

A cautionary warning to others to do your research before ordering.

We ordered the Grasmoor Rustic “V” Legs 225cm x 110cm in clear wax. We did, what we thought, was enough research in whittling down where to order our new dining table from. We eventually decided on Acumen Collection as they seemed to offer the quality and service we were looking for. This was based on the photographs, videos and description they advertise of the various finishes on their dining tables and other products.

Fast forward to receiving our table and we could not be more disappointed. The tabletop barely looks finished and is of poor quality. It looks nothing like the videos, photographs etc of the finish we selected. The edges look “dirty” and are the only visible sign of any form of wax/oil having been applied. There are splits and marks in the wood and the underside is a terrible finish where they have fitted metal straps to keep the wood together. Nothing like what was marketed.

To add to our disappointment, the company doesn’t allow returns and refunds. I’ve only now discovered they’re not part of the Furniture Ombudsman meaning we’ll have to look at other avenues to raise this issue. In writing to them, I’ve received unsurprising responses advising me that the photographs/videos of the finishes I have sent them, don’t apply to what I ordered.

I write this review with a lot of disappointment on my part for not having considered all aspects of ordering from this company - that being their returns policy and not being part of the Furniture Ombudsman. It appears there is little to no warranty when you buy from this company - something I’d have expected from a company that is confident in the “quality” they offer to paying customers. We’ve learned an expensive lesson and I wanted to give an honest review to allow others the opportunity to more thoroughly consider their position before ordering expensive items from this company.

**Update 26 August 2026**

Since writing my initial review and emailing their customer service to raise my concerns, the owner of the company got in touch and asked me to take down my negative review. If you look at other negative reviews on here, you’ll see this is a common theme. Given my right to post constructively and honestly, I refused to take down my review as it is only right others should be able read and consider this when making informed decisions about an expensive online purchase from this company.

The owner did offer “resolution” by way of refinishing the tabletop for us to a finish “he knew we’d be happy with.” We refused this as we feel strongly we have been misled by their adverting/marketing of a dining table that looks far from what was advertised in their photos and videos online. The quality and finish are not as advertised and we have paid a lot of our hard earned money for it. The owner has refused to allow us to exercise our statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act to a return and refund. Please carefully consider this when ordering from this company. The other similar reviews on here fully align with our unfortunate experience of this company and their attempt at delivering on quality coupled with an adequate level of customer care and service.

I was looking for a stool as an extra seat for my table and nice enough to keep in my bedroom as I don't have storage room . The stool I ordered is perfect and great quality
