We converted from Rippling to ADP in 2024 because of the many tax compliance issues we were experiencing with Rippling. I wish I would have read ADP reviews more thoroughly. ADP has been the most frustrating experience in my 30+ years of payroll. I have had one issue after another with ADP processing state and local taxes correctly for WA and OR. They take no ownership and the customer has to do the reconciliation and analysis and still they cannot provide a solution on how to rectify when an employee has been over or under deducted. If you are considering switching to ADP, please reconsider and save yourself extreme frustration. The tax compliance issues and lack of knowledgeable Customer Service are beyond any level of frustration I have experienced with payroll.

I told this company I went with another company and now there representative is robo spamming me on Gmail despite I block and mark spam his name is Jesse Stewert. I despise the lack of customer service this company provides, I choose a different company because the first woman I spoke to was beligerate and condescending, why would I do business with someone like that This started in Oct 2025 and still daily to my business Gmail account. If there is a class action suit I would like to know how to get on it

ADP does a reasonable job of deducing payroll from the operating account and issuing checks. They also issue W-2 forms in a timely manner. However, they are impossible to communicate with when problems arise. Our office manager left with no notice and he was our contact with ADP. We attempted to contact them and were on hold for three hours. Then they required I “prove I owned the company.” I emailed tax returns and they said it was inadequate. I tried the next day and was on hold for two and a half hours. I requested the number or email of a supervisor. They refused. At that point, I terminated ADP and went to Paychexs. I emailed them informing them that I had terminated the service. They emailed me saying I was not authorized to terminate their service.

Horrible. They screw everything up-payroll, 401K, insurance, time and attendance, taxes...They make grand promises to help and fix the issues, but its been months and very little progress has been made. They just pass you off to someone else and start the entire process over.

I’ve been struggling with the app, intermittently, for three years. This isn’t a special occasion

If I could give a negative rating for this complete joke and ripoff of a "supposed" payroll company/service I would. Useless website and app, totally both employer and employee user unfriendly, chat bot is completely inane and idiotic and offers only no-customer service.

I have had to use ADP twice now working with two different companies over the span of 10 years. It may be a good service for an employer to use, but as an employee trying to access my documents I have never had anything but bad experiences, and never had the service simply work as it should. Simple actions such as logging in never work, despite passwords being written down, and yet there is no way to contact support as an employee, your employer has to do it. As a result, things that should be a simple 10 minute task in turn into a several day ordeal. I'm currently 1 week into trying to access my pay stubs and still not having luck, I would give it less than 1 star if I could. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Regarding the reply below, I shouldn't need to contact my employer, past or present, and make it a multi day ordeal to simply log in when I have the correct login info. Similarly their feature to access pay stubs/W2s from previous employers using your DOB/SSN does not work. I've never experienced a less functional service in my life.
Edit: After two weeks of both myself and my ex employer contacting ADP nearly daily, it finally came out that they deleted my records after only 3 years without notifying myself or my employer and without sending any backups to either of us.

Took an hour to get someone on phone every time I called. Took 3 calls to get someone who spoke enough English to help me.

This company should be audited. I cannot even believe they would use ADP for their own HR work.
How is it possible that they are continuously keeping this ineffective service on their login? The annual and traditional conversation of horrible UX and why this keeps happening has been going on since the pandemic. ADP is a synonym for job headache.
Tax season is when I go back to the HR representative and question why is the company keeping the services of this vendor? And again, HR has to spend company money requesting ADP to fix their login problems.
Inefficient, expensive, unresponsive, and vigorously failing. Their IT manager and their team haven't fixed the login bug since I've been using their service.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with ADP. TERRIBLE!!! I own a new start up company and my sales representative was extremely extremely rude to me from start to finish. I could tell from the first interaction with him that he did not like me whatsoever. To make a long story short, after several days of chatting with him and doing everything he asked me to - he stopped responding to me. That was when I reached out to ADP Leadership (the CEO and the Director of Risk) explaining my position, the goals we had with having ADP as a partner to help us with our long term growth plans and more. By the next day, I received an email from the “Global Fraud & Risk Team Lead Investigator,” advising me that ADP will not support my business. The person was extremely rude and totally belittled me and my company. It’s very clear that ADP is not friendly to start up companies. We have a large mission to help bring positive change to communities nationwide and we had no fraudulent intent whatsoever. I don’t know why or how they came to this determination but it’s simply not true, is unfair and just not right. I was so distraught when I got that email that I broke down, because we have a legitimate mission to help others and we’re being called “frauds” by ADP. You are the frauds, scamming hard working small businesses. It all started with lie after lie from my sales representative who was probably talking trash about me behind the scenes. Completely unacceptable, unethical and unprofessional behavior from start to finish and what an embarrassment of a company that claims to be a “leader” in the industry of helping small businesses.
I do not recommend them they can't even have a working unsubscribe link on there app they keep sending me emails to update my info I do not have anything to do with them this place is a joke

By far the worst payroll platform to exist. Their marketing is fantastic because they convince you that their platform is top tier and easy. IT IS NOT - you have to do everything yourself, their "24/7" designated support team is overseas and give you different answers on any of your inquiries. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS PAYROLL PLATFORM

ADP has erroneously charged me for services that I have not used in over a year. I was enrolled in a retirement plan for my small mental health practice and billed for monthly almost $800 for book keeping. Book keeping for no transactions as I have not used the service. Despite informing customer service reps and emailing ADP, that I wished to end my contract, my requests have been ignored. I continue to be billed to date and am now in collections. It seems that ADP has a business practice of creating financial obligations to business' in order to remain in business themselves, judging from the number of complaints there are.
I am going to contact an attorney regarding these unethical business practices

If I could leave zero stars I would. They provide almost no value to your business. Payroll support is non existent. I cancelled and had to cancel 3 more times with them because I was still being charged. They charge over $200 to maintain my 401k but earn me less than market rates. I wish I never went with them, THOUASANDS of dollars down the drain for much worse than mediocre services.
**Edit after they replied** I doubt anybody will reach out. I will want to pull my full 401k that they charge over $200 a month to maintain. Of course I am going to pull my 401k with them because that's highway robbery and they will charge me over $1000 to pull the 401k but that's expected at least. still would give less than 1 star if I could. Lets see if they ever reach out to me!

I just spent three hours trying to contact someone ADP it is impossible phone numbers don’t work. They refer you back to the website. I go onto the website put in my password login. No result what I’m trying to find out is why I’m still being charged $86 a month and I have not been part of this company‘s service for six months. It is a bologna save yourself some money find another service other than ADP Robert

This app is stealing hours from me and taking $250 in taxes from a $509.00 check. They're crazy., and many were always left with hours owed. .

I got entered into a premium plan for my small business that essentially doubled how much I was paying to ADP. I wasn't aware I was automatically enrolled and had no usage for the premium plan.
Plus, they were charging me weekly when I realized as an s-corp owner, I could've been paid monthly. Meaning I paid thousands extra in 2025. Shame on me for not realizing they were taking advantage of me sooner.
