How to make a First Aid course interesting and feel relevant to participants from varied backgrounds and levels of experience, is a tall order.
Scott totally nailed every requirement.
His personal experiences and qualifications must be second to none. You know that you’re in safe hands.
These experiences are not talked of in a show off manner, quite the reverse, they are threaded through the delivery to clarify situations and to show real lived examples. Equally, Scott is most thoughtful about the subject matters covered and frequently will check in with the group to give advance awareness of areas individuals may feel uncomfortable about. Whether that is eg needles, blood, phobias but also personal situations.
What I found useful was when group members recounted their experiences on a subject. (As an educator I know that these asides can take up teaching time. may go off a tangents etc.. but not once did Scott cut off, diminish or give any indication of doing anything other than valuing input).
Content was comprehensive, practical activities relevant and not cringy. A balance was achieved with pace and breaks and indoors/outdoors activities.

Scott was an a very experienced instructor and could support the learning with real life experiences.
He was clear and concise and his delivery of the course materials was suited to the make up of the group.He was able to demonstrate a range of relevant equipment that could be necessary in first aid situations.
There was a lot of class based work but this was broken up with practical activities where possible.

Scott delivered the comprehensive and in depth material with a sensitive nature, catering for everybody’s needs on the course. I have never felt so confident than I do now after completing any kind of first aid training.

Scott is a very sociable, people-person and he made the training engaging. There was opportunities to learn in a practical way. He tried to link it to our specific needs e.g. forest school leaders.

Level 2 Venturer Medicine First Aid Training Course - 2 Days/16hrs with ADTREX Ltd.

Scott was a brilliant trainer and made the whole course interesting and relevant.
Scott delivered the course in a well structured way and offered many examples supported by his wide knowledge of medicine, first aid, rules and regulations. Along with all the wonderful adventure stories it made for a wonderful 2 day course.
Scott took the time to explain things in a clear and easy to understand way and encouraged discussion around real life scenarios. We also had a chance to test our learning and build our confidence.

the whole trek was amazing ,the route was stunning and despite some bad weather the vibes were great. Scott is fab and helped us out with atmosphere and loads with the more technical side of things so we were really prepared after our practice. John was a group motivator and always finding ways to make the whole experience more fun for everyone. The team even went the extra mile to make my birthday on DofE still feel special with singing and a banner. extremely memorable and amazing experience that i would recommend to everyone.

I recently had the privilege of taking the Outdoor First Aid course with Adtrex, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. From the moment I signed up, it was evident that Adtrex takes the safety and well-being of their participants seriously.

Scott, our instructor, was an absolute gem. His expertise in first aid was second to none. The instructors were brilliant at ensuring we were able to deal with every new challenge we ran into, and were incredibly encouraging throughout which was immensely helpful, especially when we had issues due to bad weather. They were knowledgeable and from the start guided us to complete DofE using ourselves and being responsible to make decisions without depending on others.

I have completed 2 days course with Scott, I learned a lot, it was intresting and engaging. Certificate arrived within 2 weeks. Recommend

Scott was a great educator. Extremely knowledgeable and made the learning fun at the same time. I was particularly impressed with Scott's trauma informed approach including always checking in with the group before introducing a new topic. The assessment at the end was great too (no spoilers !). Highly recommend this training if you need your outdoor first aid.
