Clear and precise service. A few hiccups here and there but always quick to respond and correct and ensure that we were satisfied.

From our first point of contact to the end of the contract everything was explained throughly and the work was carried out to a high standard. Lionel confirmed our suspicions about the damp we had discovered and a plan to correct this was put in place. Unfortunately when the initial work commenced another problem was found which was not visible until the plater was removed. Advanced Damp dealt with this by providing a structural engineer to carry out a survey and then they were able to complete the extra work needed. We found that each and everyone of their staff that we had contact with were professional and easy to get on with, nothing was too much trouble for them. All areas were left neat tidy. We would highly recommend their services.

I paid for Advanced Damp to carry out a survey on a property I was looking at, as an initial survey had flagged potential damp issues. The initial survey quoted c.£7k of work to be done, so I proceeded with the purchase. Having completed on the purchase Advanced Damp attended again to check on another small area of damp I spotted that they hadn’t flagged in their initial survey. I then received a revised quote for c.£25k, with the explanation that whilst the initial surveyor had mentioned issues, he hadn’t included them in the quote. No acknowledgement that the revised quote was almost 4x the initial quote, leaving me absolutely stunned. I’m not sure what would have happened if I had proceeded with the initial work, but am glad I didn’t find out. Quite what the correct price for the works should be I am unsure, but will be seeking advice from another surveyor as I would have no trust in their competence following this situation.

Used for a pre-purchase damp survey and couldn’t recommend more: great value, easy to arrange, report was delivered quickly, and Paul, our surveyor, was always happy to answer any questions I had. Would definitely use again!

Efficient, friendly, very clear on rules and protocols, Rob was an excellent project manager. He made it clear what was included and not included, he responded quickly to issues and tasks that needed including. The whole project, whilst expensive, was professional and of high quality and the cost was well justified by the state of our cellars and the final outcome, with which we are delighted! The team undertaking the work were highly skilled and very courteous and we were regularly updated, living away from the property for the duration.

Jack did an excellent job on our property. The plastering was neat and tidy. He was lovely to have around.

We paid £360 to have a damp survey carried out by this company on a small, single room of our property which was having problems with humidity and condensation. The report, which seemed to be a cut and paste job as it listed all kinds of points that were completely irrelevant to our particular situation, claimed to find numerous issues which could only be dealt with at vast expense - they quoted an eye-watering £21,000 for dealing with just this one room.
Yet all of the data on which they based this report was meaningless as they only used a "damp meter" pressed against the walls. There are 3 BS standards that specifically state that damp meters cannot and should not be used to assess the internal damp state of a wall - they only measure conductivity, not dampness - and that the only valid and accurate way to do this is to take samples of the wall. This was not done. When I subsequently drilled into the wall, it was completely dry. Everything else in the report was based on subjective observations - they even used the fact that we had been using a dehumidifier as evidence that there was damp - yes, we know! that's why we were using a dehumidifier!
We've since successfully dealt with the issue by adjusting the central heating and installing better ventilation. The survey and report were a complete waste of money. Do not use this company.

I had some damp proof course done in December by Kevin at advanced damp. He did a lovely job and ensured the room was clean and tidy afterwards. He was really helpful in answering all my questions. Thanks Kevin.

Update: Following the publication of my review below, I received an email from Advanced Damp on 10 February acknowledging my complaint and stating that they would respond within five working days. However, despite this assurance, I have yet to receive a response.

Following a comprehensive damp survey conducted and paid for through Advanced Damp Ltd, I contracted their services in September 2024 to implement their recommended solutions. Based on their professional assessment, the prescribed works included external repointing, waterproof coating, and installation of an ACO drain system, at a total cost of £2,450.40.

The works were completed on 3 October 2024, and despite their assurances that these works would resolve the damp problems, the issues have persisted.

On 2 December 2024, merely two months after completion, I reported significant damp penetration through the bottom of the walls, providing photographic evidence. After receiving no response, I followed up on 5 December. It wasn't until 10 December 2024 that I received an acknowledgment, with their representative Leah promising an update by Thursday 12 December 2024. This deadline passed without any communication.

On 15 December, I had to chase again, expressing my intention to contact Checkatrade if the matter wasn't addressed by the following day. Only then did Advanced Damp arrange for their surveyor, Alfie, to inspect the property on 23 December. During his visit, Alfie confirmed that remedial works would be necessary to address the ongoing damp issues. He informed me that I would need to wait for his report and for the company to determine their approach to rectifying the problems.

On 15 January 2025, having heard nothing since Alfie's visit, I requested an update. Leah responded saying she would "follow up with your proposal this week." Today, more than a month after Alfie's inspection and over six weeks since my initial complaint, Advanced Damp has neither shared the findings from Alfie's inspection nor proposed any solution.

Their pattern of delayed responses and unfulfilled promises is concerning. Between 2 December 2024, and January 2025, I have had to chase repeatedly for updates, with each promise of action resulting in further delays or silence. Most concerning is that even after their own surveyor confirmed the need for remedial work, the company has effectively gone silent, leaving me with the same damp issues I paid to have resolved.

I cannot recommend Advanced Damp Ltd based on this experience. While their initial installation in October 2024 appeared professional, their aftercare service has been substandard. The company has demonstrated a concerning pattern of ignoring customer communications, missing self-imposed deadlines, and failing to take responsibility for their work. Most importantly, the damp issues that I paid £2,450.40 to have resolved remain unaddressed less than three months after completion, even after their own surveyor confirmed the need for remedial work.

Wouldn’t recommend. Didn’t seem to know what they were talking about and their commission based work structure meant that work was quoted for that didn’t exist.
They identified a floorboard as having dry rot with a cost of up to £20k to remedy.
We had to spend a further £1200 on getting an actual expert in to identify what it really was, which was historic woodworm. This second consultant noted that the appearance and smell of dry rot is vastly different to historic woodworm and would have expected a company that works with damp to be able to tell the difference.
They also noted in their report that there were cracks in the external render at ground level under a window sill. When we went to have a look at the area it was obvious the ‘cracks’ were just cobwebs. These were just a couple of the biggest misidentifications but the whole report was filled with inaccuracies and outlandish claims. Would definitely avoid using this company and wouldn’t recommend to anyone else to use. Better to get in an independent expert rather than a contractor affiliated with a company that will carry out and charge for supposed ‘required works’.

I used Advanced Damp LTD for damp proof survey and the service was excellent the gave a clear quick and tidy breakdown of the jobs costs and needs whilst being timely, efficient and tidy, would highly recommend.

Contacted for a quote for rising damp and was emailed to say I needed to pay upfront for the survey it is not free. I didn’t respond and then got an email a week later saying they have a sale on and it was 1/3 off.
I’ve had FREE quotes from 3 other companies who all identified the same issues and similar costs which weren’t much more than the cost of the survey with this company.
I would get free surveys and quotes elsewhere , nobody should make you pay for a quote.

I highly recommend these guys. We have worked with a lot of damp companies over the years but none as professional as Advanced Damp. They did a really good job on one of our investment properties. We had a struggle to get it done in time but they worked overtime to satisfy our needs.

I had the pleasure of working with Advanced Damp recently when I needed a thorough damp survey and treatment for my home. From start to finish, the team was exceptional, providing a level of service that far exceeded my expectations.

They made sure to protect the surrounding areas while working, and Alan regularly checked in to update me on their progress. The attention to detail was remarkable; he treated my home as if it were his own, which was something I really valued.

Not only did they complete the work to an exceptionally high standard, but they also ensured that everything was clean and tidy before they left. I was dreading having to deal with a mess afterward, but there was nothing of the sort. Alan and his team left the place looking as good as new, and I could immediately see the difference their work made.

Overall, Advanced Damp delivered a fantastic experience, from the initial survey with Sam to the quality of work provided by Alan and his team. It’s clear they know what they’re doing, and they genuinely care about their customers. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone dealing with damp issues.

Disappointed. Called Advanced Damp for a free quote to put a damp course in front of my house before installing a new plinth. I knew what I wanted to be done, but the company insisted I needed to do the survey. When I said I need a free quote, which their website said they do, they said the guy who does free quote is on the leave for 3 months and so they don't do the free quote. I said it is a small job and the trustpilot website says that damp course for a small house costs around £800 pounds, Advanced Damp said not with them, and that they are not interested in projects less than £3,000. Overpriced, insisting on surveys as a way of making additional money. One wonders then about the quality of their work or they just want the quick and most expensive jobs.

The team was incredibly professional, arrived on time, and finished the job ahead of schedule. They tidied up after themselves at the end of each, which we really appreciated! The quality of work was outstanding, and they provided a guarantee at the end of the job.
