ATTENTION BUSINESS OWNERS

You will be so glad you read this BEFORE signing on the line with Advertise Purple.

I hope this will save you from making what was for me the worst business decision of 2020.

We were approached by Advertise Purple to do affiliate marketing for our online store. They said they had a lot of success in our vertical and were very confident of making a successful affiliate sales program with us. They said they are usually the second highest revenue generator after Facebook ads.

This, of course, seemed very exciting.

With almost no knowledge of affiliate marketing I naturally trusted what I heard from Advertise Purple. We agreed to pay $2,000 per month in advance, with a 5% of revenue above a threshold, with a 30 day termination clause.

I remember that the fees started out at $2,500 per month, and were reduced, and the termination clause was 60 days. I remember sensing this risk as being far too high, and out of the goodness of his heart the sales rep reduced the fee and termination clause.

Then something popped up I wasn’t expecting, it was direct charge authorisation for my credit card. Why would Advertise Purple want that when I am paying each month in advance? Yeah. ...more about that in a moment.

Then what occurred was a flurry of emails from a number of the Advertise Purple team, setting up this and that...

Month one no sales. Month two, $42 in revenue.

Each month I would anxiously enquire as to why the program wasn’t generating sales, ‘it takes time’ I was told.

‘But, I’m getting sales on my other affiliate program which is unmanaged and not being promoted at all’ I said. To this there was no logical response.

Hesitating in paying the third installment of $2,000 I said that I wish for a change in the agreement, that if they believed in my business so much as an affiliate partner that they needed to share the risk.

Then, boom, my credit card was charged. I felt robbed.

Stating as such, and gearing myself up for writing a review such as this, they refunded that last charge.

Then, months later, I look back and feel utterly played by Advertise Purple. Seeing the other negative reviews I know other business owners have been suffering the same fate as I did.

I wrote an initial review on Trust Pilot last week, and was addressed by several emails from the Advertise Purple team. I was promised a full refund if I would remove the review. I removed it and almost a week later there is no refund in sight.

Fellow business owners please be aware, they have a sales gift, and habit of not delivering- ANYTHING.

A shamefully bad business.

Seeing Advertise Purple's reply to this review makes my stomach turn. These guys are real snakes.

When I posted my original review I received an email asking me to get on a call with them to discuss the review. 'There is nothing to discuss.' I replied. Then another email, and another. ...they seemed determined to not let the truth out about their business practices.

I thought, well if they have learned their lesson I will accept a refund of the money paid, and it will be an ethical end to the disaster.

They said they would offer a refund, I removed the review. They then said the funds would be transferred by their solicitor who was cc on the email.

I expected the solicitor would contact me. The next day with no contact from the solicitor I emailed them, no reply after four days. So I posted the more detailed review that you see here.

Then an email comes from the solicitor asking me to get on a call to discuss. I replied that there is nothing to discuss, that a refund was promised and not processed so the review is now live again.

These guys are so smooth at sales and managing these bad reviews- watch out everyone!

Advertise Purple was a great addition to expanding our teams' capabilities managing and expanding our affiliate channel. They were constantly finding new opportunities, professional in their approach, and were engaging with our team. If you don't have an affiliate program or are looking to expand what you have, I'd highly recommend working with this company.

The team at Advertise Purple is fantastic and the impact on our sales was significant. We are not a typical affiliate client, but the team at Advertise Purple works closely to customize solutions for each client. We've seen both an increase in traffic and revenue from content affiliate sites which was our main goal. Shout out to the Director Eidan Schahaf who really goes above and beyond for us (and I'm assuming all his clients!).
