The actual trip was through Globus …

The actual trip was through Globus which was unbeknownst to me. Upon my arrival, my luggage was lost. It continued to be lost for five days and did not communicate anything to me during that time frame. Also, the shuttle service from the airport to the hotel was non-existent. And surprise! The hotel didn't exist either. The Spencer hotel which was the hotel's replacement did not have my reservation. The phone line to speak to an agent at the vacation store wasn't open for another hour so I was unable to talk to anyone. I eventually found my reservation at a Hilton hotel on the other side of town, which I had to rush to to get to my 1500 tour. Poor communication while in a foreign country is beyond upsetting. Unless I absolutely have to, I have no interested in flying with Aer Lingus ever again.

Coach review:

Coach review:
Seats a bit tight. Food was awful. Flight attendants outstanding. Dealt with a woman clearly unstable/fruitcake in a calm manner. Flight experience was great; just the food terrible and cramped coach seating; when is it not, right? Staff was fantastic. We should all aspire to be as gracious as they are. No complaints about how we were greeted, treated, etc.

Aer Lingus Vacation Store is not part of Aer Lingus

First of all Aer Lingus Vacation Store is not part of Aer Lingus Airlines and Aer Lingus Airlines will provide no help in resolving issues. Secondly, Aer Lingus Vacations does no respond to customer complaints. These facts are not made clear in the advertising or emails. Secondly, the so-called discounts they offer on packages are easily negated by the extra cost caused by inflexibility. I ordered a fly and drive package for 8 nights. I did not need the car during my last two nights in Dublin and wanted to drop my car in central Dublin rather than at the airport. Well the car rental firm, Doolin, wanted another 100 euro to pick up the car in Dublin. They have no location in Dublin. Furthermore, Aer Lingus Vacations wanted about $300 more for theft and CDW protection, which one is required to purchase in Ireland and is not part of the package. I rented a car from a competitor, which included insurance and a drop at their location in Dublin for 212 euros. I did not use the Doolin rental, for which I had supposedly prepaid.

Thomas: The Aer Lingus Vacation Store provides the vacation packages for Aer Lingus Airlines but you are correct that the airline cannot assist with any bookings made via the Aer Lingus Vacation Store because the airline does not have access to any Vacation Store bookings.

Many credit card companies provide car insurance which is why we do not include that coverage with our packages that include a car rental.

Since you have booked with us the car rental company wasacquired by Enterprise so this opened up many more resources. Please give us another try!

Thanks for your feedback.

2/3 of the hotels were good

2/3 of the hotels were good. 1/3 was bad. Dublin hotel was in a crime-ridden, run down part of the city. Very long walks/taxi trip to get to the popular tourism areas.

We booked a trip to visit London and …

We booked a trip to visit London and the Dublin departing from Boston. No problems with the flights except the touch screen monitors were broken on one seat both transatlantic flights. But really no big deal as staff was helpful and friendly and we slept during.
We upgraded our hotel in London to Kingsway Hall. It was fine. Located in the Theatre district and short Uber to major tourist sites. Clean, but a bit faded. No complaints really.
We also upgraded to the Ocallaghan Davenport in Dublin. The location is convenient. The hotel is old, tired, poorly managed, and not clean. If you don't mind stained carpets, worn furniture, peculiar corridor odors, and unresponsive staff then this is the place for you. The rooms are small with room for only one bedside table and light, which is inconvenient if two people want to read in bed. Stains on the bedding and disgusting stains on the wall were a turn off. Staff had trouble supplying an ice bucket, vase for flowers in an effort to brighten the room, and a continous inability to match our name with the register despite reservations made using our passport. We were also awoken at 7am by house keeping in our room, who stated they didn't know anyone had checked into the room. Ok, except, why clean a room before anyone checks in, and we had heard the front desk say there were no vacancies. Maybe I am picky or unfamiliar with "European " hotels, but this would be a $50-60 per night hotel in the US. I should mention that there was plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower but the control handle kept falling off.

This is the second Ireland fly and …

This is the second Ireland fly and drive trip I have done through Aer Lingus. The only issue I have with this company is trying to reach them on the phone to ask questions or change something about the reservations. HIRE MORE PEOPLE TO ANSWER THE PHONE...waited 30 minutes plus on several occasions. The vacation itself was a great value and everything went smoothly regarding rental car, vouchers, location of hotel in Dublin. Love the fly and drive type of vacation option. We are already planning our next trip. Love Ireland and the vacation options from the Vacation Store.

We had a great experience

We had a great experience, and only ran into a couple of issues. We had problems with our GPS that we rented, but managed to get a refund on that since it didn't work during our trip. The last hotel we stayed at was not very nice, the rooms were not clean, people smoked in the rooms, the location was not so good, the food and service was bad, and we had to pay for parking. Other than that, the trip was excellent. The remainder of our hotels were really good, the rental car was very acceptable and the service from the rental car people was excellent. The itinerary was great – we managed to see a lot in our 10 days. Our flights went off without a hitch, I would recommend that Aer Lingus work on the cushions in their seating however. They are some of the hardest seats I've sat on in the variety of airlines I have traveled. The best part of the whole trip was being in Ireland - the people and places are amazing. This was my fourth trip to Ireland, and hopefully not my last!

Seamless experience

Seamless experience. All fell into place wonderfully; the flight, lodging. Not quite satisfied with Dooley Car Rental service. Upon pick up of the vehicle, the rental assistant was not at all helpful, with directions, instructions, car choices. No map was offered, no print out of directions to the first night's lodging. In fact, her directions to that lodging, when asked, were wrong. I was given a standard, as requested. I was not told it was a diesel. I was not oriented with the vehicle and its features. Not a good way to start a trip!

Fly and Drive vacation to Ireland

We booked a fly and drive vacation, with Bed and Breakfast vouchers. The ease of checking in at the airport was a pleasant surprise in this age of increasing difficulty enjoying flying. The flight was very nice, although, lets admit, you can't get a good meal on an airplane, but they tried valiantly. It was nice to have a good choice of movies for the long flight.
We were able to book all of our B&b's ahead of the trip, which made everything go smoothly.

One recommendation

One recommendation - When picking up the car at Dan Dooley rental we asked for directions to the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel - which were incorrect and what should have taken 1 hour took almost 3. It would be helpful, since you have many customers with the same itinerary to have directions with the car rental pick up. Thank you.

We were very pleased with the air …

We were very pleased with the air travel - the seats were generous and comfortable the fight smooth and the attendants were friendly and attentive, the hotels were VERY Nice/clean/and welcoming, the car provided enough trunk space for the luggage for 4 adults (checked, carry-ons as well as a personal bag each) was adequatelysized/comfortable and for 4 adults and was responsive!! We were all quite pleased with our Are Lingus vacation.

Thank you,
Jeanne Pratt

We had a wonderful time in Ireland

We had a wonderful time in Ireland, booked through Aer Lingus. The price was amazing, and I was concerned that the accommodations might not be that great. Oh my we were pleasantly surprised, all of the hotels were fabulous, great locations. Our flight was long, but the flight attendants were
very attentive, wonderful food, and movies that made the time go by fast.
I will definitely be booking our next vacation trough Aer Lingus.
