My daughter and i had a great time

My daughter and i had a great time! Saw many wonderful things, got to see where my dad-her grandpa's family came from in Cork, kissed the Blarney Stone and met many other wonderful tourists and Irish people. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I plan on returning sometime in the near future. Love the Travel by Rail in Ireland. (Met many people who had obviously kissed the Blarney Stone too! :) )

Our first to Ireland

This was our first trip to Ireland, and the agent who helped me on the phone was very thorough and set up everything quickly and easily, and explained all of the details. I did call back to check on a few details which they checked out and assured me that the trip was in order.

We made the trip and it went very smoothly, and we had the most wonderful trip in Ireland, and we are certainly planning to go again in the near future, thanks to the Aer Lingus Vacation Store.

The B&B's were not worth the money

The B&B's was not worth the money. Some were nice but others had 4 people (My wife and I plus 2 sons) in one room when other rooms were available. I paid for 4 people but was getting the same accommodations as 1 or 2 would of gotten. As for the airlines, impossible to get seats till boarding time, as a result I was in the last row with a seat that didn't recline and had a box of some sort where my feet belonged. On the return trip I could not check in electronically but that ended up being good as the Air Lingus customer service rep got us good seats in the front of the plane all together.

Don't use Aer Lingus Vacation Store (ALVS)

I totally regret booking my Scotland/ Ireland vacation through Aer Lingus Vacation Store. The locations in Scotland required extra payments and were located well outside popular cities/ location areas. I would rather have paid a little extra to stay in the city/ location I wanted than to use these vouchers.
The B&B's available through ALVS in Ireland were extremely limited. Again, not in Galway, Dingle etc, but outside, requiring further driving.
I extended my trip by 2 days and was told by the travel agent I could call the Fitzgerald Castle Hotel (ALVS books you into this hotel the last 2 nights of your stay but I extended by 2 nights) and move those nights. I called and was told only the travel agency could do that. I called ALVS back and the next agent said those dates can't be rearranged. I couldn't change my travel plans so I had to pay out of pocket to stay elsewhere. You will do better booking on your own through Booking.com than use ALVS.

No Doubt about the Great Service

Aer Lingus went above and beyond for our vacation. We took advantage of a fly/drive offer through Groupon. We were traveling as two couples. Aer Lingus vacations helped us get a single car (to fit all of us) and to help us get seats assigned when there were problems. All was done most cheerfully.

Airline was reasonably timely

Airline was reasonably timely. Crew helpful but not terribly friendly. Food adequate. But the real annoyance was the touch screen video on the back of each seat. One of the options is game playing. The people behind us played games all the way. Which means they were punching the touch screen the whole trip. VERY ANNOYING. Aer Lingus is much more a cattle carrier than it was 40 years ago. Price was excellent and we had a good time once we got to Ireland. Clearing security and customs was very pleasant. Self drive car was OK. The beer and the whiskey made up for a lot.

Boarding was a circus

Boarding was a circus. You should consider boarding rear of the aircraft first (for coach). Food was marginal at best (we didn't eat the wraps for breakfast and snack on return flight...not appetizing at all.

Good trip

Good trip, glad we upgraded our seats and pre-ordered food. Next time I would opt for upgraded hotels too. Not bad, but with a quick trip, (3 cities in 8 days) better hotels would be advised.

Just so

Just so, so. New aircraft have less legroom; jet blue has a lot more leg room and it is a discount airline. Ran out of chicken on flight home so no choice. If one did not eat red meat, they would not eat. Also food had to many noodles; the main meal - noodles with beef, the salad - a noodle salad (way to many carbs for some).

This is a separate travel agency from …

This is a separate travel agency from Aer Linus so one's reservation # does not correspond to the Airlines code. There is very little human contact and all paperwork is provided early on with little by way of travel advice, updates, etc. That being said, the Airline is excellent and Dan Dooley car rental was hassle-free.
